I made a reservation for 6:30, arrived 10 minutes early and got seated upon arrival. The place is very aesthetically pleasing and not too loud or overwhelming despite having a view of the kitchen. I had a mixed opinion about this place because of reviews I had read and I hate to agree with them. The customer service definitely could have been better. My table was for a party of one (myself) and tell me why a party of 3 that arrived after me managed to leave before i got my check. I felt ignored by the staff and quite honestly, treated differently. I have no problem pouring my own drink but I did see the servers pour for all the other customers and did get a couple uncomfortable stares. Very very pleased with my dining experience here! I was dining alone and felt very taken care of! I did opt for an earlier dinner (early for Europe, I arrived around 5/530) and it was not busy. By the time I left it was getting quite packed and it was mid week! I had a glass of wine which paired really nicely with all my food. The scallops for my appetizer were amazing!! So large and cooked perfectly. The presentation on the shell was very nice. The chicken parm as my entree was also delicious and probably one of the biggest pieces of chicken I've ever had. It was pounded thin and was super crispy and was basically exactly what you would want for this dish. The side of spaghetti was fine, definitely not the star of the dish but still good. For my dessert I had the chocolate panna cotta and this was also very yummy! Everything on the menu sounded great so it was hard to choose. I felt that everything was very fairly priced for a nice Italian dinner and as mentioned, the service was great and efficient. The ambience of the restaurant was also nice. A cozy restaurant located on a small side street just off Regent. Polite, efficient service and excellent food. We enjoyed their traditional lasagna and the branzino filets with a caper and tomato sauce and friarielli, both very good. Great food. Sat outside and enjoyed the patio heaters. It is a bit expensive but it's London. Carbonara was excellent.

Below average food with miniscule portions, undercooked inedible pasta carbonara, sent it back to kitchen only to be sent the same dish back after sticking into a microwave or pan as it was piping hot this time and the cream was all clotted due to overheating! Focaccia was chewy, burrata was so tiny with sprayed on truffle flavour. Even chain restaurants like vapiano is way better than this. What a waste! If you want to throw away your cash for nothing my all means go and eat here. You will also be charged more than 10 pounds worth of service charge. Good luck read more

Excellent food, excellent service in a very classy setting. Had truffle mushroom risotto to start with cheese and was delicious. Also bread board which was fresh and good. They have an open kitchen. Which I always love. Entree was veal Milanese cooked to perfection with rosemary roasted potatoes and a vegetable which is an Italian delicacy. First of all the place is decent size with enough seating. The problems are 1 The food is OK not great. The pizza is not that good (not tastey). The seating is too close to the next table and is filled with people and not enough staff. The younger staff are far and few so the service is not great. They do not know how to make their liquor drinks well. The fish dinner with Cod sausage and Broccoli was ok not well matched just ok. Overall this place is just OK not as good as a restaurant that is more personal/ intimate with better service. Not worth the price. read more

Piccolino is an interesting one. Located just off Regent Street on a more quite lane; it's a restaurant that looks quite elegant/posh from the outside, but surprisingly friendly in it's pricing point. While I'm not saying it's like dirt cheap; the ~£13-15 price point for a pasta dish is not unreasonable in this side of town. Yes it is on the pricy end if you just wanted to fill your stomach; but the alternative around this area is really just Pret or sandwiches of other sorts. Service was great; the complimentary bread is always a plus! Pasta was really tasty (probably cause we were quite hungry at that point), and portion is not overly lacking. If i have to give it a fair assessment, i think it's more a £10-12 dish, but i suppose you have to pay for the location and the 'complimentary' bread. meh~ All In all, I enjoyed the meal. read more

We were starving and happened upon Piccolino through Google maps. It looked decent, and we took a chance. Glad that we did. Pleasant atmosphere and good service (Wislan). For North Americans, do note that it is à la carte, à la carte. When asked if you want bread and olives to start, they will be added to your bill and are not complimentary as is standard in NA. The Tagliatelle Alla Bolognese was excellent and well priced, but the Risotto Al Frutti Di Mare wasn't really a risotto but more of a rice with sauce and was overpriced. 19.08.23 - I was served undercooked cod that had not been ordered in this manner. The manager acknowledged the cod was 'slightly undercooked', however, the issue is that this undercooked fish was served to me and I am pregnant. Whilst this might not be an issue for someone not pregnant, I am now highly concerned that this dish was not okay. I was not able to eat the full cod dish that I was charged because of this and I will now have to watch for any issues with my pregnancy in relation to the food borne issues pregnant women are far more susceptible to than non-pregnant women. Pregnant women are advised not to eat undercooked fish. The manager offered me a salad?! to compensate once I had already finished the other parts of my food?! This was poor practice and pointless - there was not even at the very least an offer to replace the poorly cooked cod, which at least would have given me a chance to finish the dish I was charged in full for. This is unacceptable, despite me having to leave the remaining part of the fish that was unacceptably served to me and it being taken away to be inspected by Aleks and the manager. As a paying customer, 1) I do not expect to have to request good customer service in such matters and this should have been resolved fairly or deducted from my bill - I should not have to tell a manager how to resolve an issue his restaurant has caused to a pregnant woman who is more vulnerable to food-borne illness, 2) I do not expect to be served any food that is undercooked to any standard when this has not been explicitly requested, and 3) when I am pregnant and gave told the manager that this is my concern, I do not expect to be ill-advised that eating undercooked fish is okay- it is not, under any circumstances. At this point, where is the trust in your food, regard for your customers, and basic customer service? Undercooked food can cause harm to my unborn baby, including miscarriage and still birth, and all I can now do is anxiously wait and hope this has not caused my baby any harm. Any proper research of 'is undercooked cod okay for pregnant women to consume' will inform you that the advice given to me from the manager today about the undercooked cod I was served was incorrect. I do not expect to have unnecessary fears added to the sensitive time of pregnancy when I have chosen to eat at what should be a reputable restaurant. This is not okay and really ruined my experience with you. This, in addition to the nonchalant response I received and misinformation about the undercooked fish is unacceptable, then being charged in full for the experience without the manager using his initiative and discretion in the matter as the icing on the cake. I regularly enjoy eating at both mid-range and fine dining establishments, however, this is the first time I have had such an experience that literally left me with a poor taste in my mouth. Do NOT provide pregnant women with 'advice' on what foods are okay when undercooked fish is served as this is false advice and NOT ok. I am so disappointed with this experience, and whilst I should be asleep, the concern is playing on my mind, not only from the food, but the lack of care from the manager and the lack of service afforded to me as a pregnant woman. Aside from Aleksander (male staff member) being amazing at his job, the rest of the experience was lacking, poor practice and quite frankly negligent. The 'service' *s rated is on the service from the restaurant. This is separate to Aleks who I would give 10*s. There are a multitude of issues from my experience at Piccolino. Unfortunately, this was only minimised by the manager in such a manner that was not appropriate for me to address at a crowded birthday celebration. It needs to be addressed. There were other issues with the amount of time to wait between each course despite it being a pre-ordered set menu - but my main issue is the underserved cod. Good food, great service, large menu Went for lunch and remember to get the loyalty card they offer as they load it with £20.00 of credit for the next visit which is nice. Booked in advance but there was plenty of space. Service was great but one thing we were offered bread and olives which we agreed but later to find out they charge for both and this was not communicated and i usually expect bread and olives on the table when you are paying this amount for food. Worse still is neither of us likes olives so that was a waste. They need to change the policy on this as it is misleading. We had the Rav Asparagi (Large) and Pollo Milanese, you can have some dishes either as small of large but again the option was not given when we ordered so there is some staff training to be done. Service was still good and food arrived promptly and arrived hot. I think the Pollo Milanese was a little too hot to start. Food tasted great and even the bread selection to start was different and a nice touch (just should be open about there being a charge). There was a nice seasoning to the chicken breast and coating was just right. Really enjoyed it. Portion was great and large for Lunch. Decor is not bad and large area inside and out. I think there is also a bar downstairs so will take a look and report next time. Given the restaurant inside was almost empty it was a little noisy. You could have a conversation but i think when it gets busy this may be a little more difficult. The menu is vast so many options from pasta and pizza to choose from and many dishes for vegetarians which is also another plus. With the membership card giving £20 credit for the next visit and a loyalty scheme to not just this but there other restaurants i think this is a great idea and will visit again for sure. Total bill came in at around £55.00 for two which is without starters or desserts or wine. But i think that is reasonable. Definitely worth a visit especially if you want a late lunch and skip dinner or need something to last you to late night dinner. read more

Ok. I'm picky and I have very high standards when it comes to Italian food. Piccolino is a terrific little place. Great atmosphere and vibe. The hickory smoked rib app was not great but the pizza was terrific as was the wine and the affogato with amaretto. Was able to talk with two or three of the staff and they each had their own favorites. Not pushing one thing. The service was very good considering I sat in the bar. I was on a scouting trip for a group event next week and am happy to report that I will be back with the team. Prices are fair and quality is very good. read more

We had a nice dinner before going to see a play. The menu had a nice range of pasta, which was what I was primarily after. I went with vongole, which was good but slightly unflavourful. We had a side of olives, which were spot on. I tend to think that olives say a lot about a place. Service was okay, but I found the waiters to be a bit stiff-necked. Piccolino has a wonderful location, just off Regent's Street in a very charming little street and lots of outdoor seating. I imagine this place would be wonderful for sipping ice-cold drinks and relaxing the summer sun (that is, when there is sun in London.) I came here last week with some friends and I cannot say I was too impressed with the food despite my friends raving about how good it was, and how they always went to the one in Bristol. I had the arrabiata with spicy Italian sausage, and the only word I can use to describe the food is greasy, It was so oily I could see a visible rim around the place, the sauce was thick and lumpy, and I can make better at home, which is not why I pay for someone else to make a meal for me. Not impressed at all. That said, the poached egg and asparagus starter that two of the party had, looked amazing. But it did not live up to its hyped-up review by some of the others. The only reason I'd come back, is for the on-the-street seating. It seems like it could have a lovely ambiance. Shame about the food. read more

We went there last Sunday for a lunch. The restaurant was reopened after a renovation. The waiters were very kind. We had Minestrone, very good, nicely flavoured. My wife and I ordered some fish, very well prepared. The kids had pasta, the were very happy. Kids had Tiramisu or Ice cream, they were delighted. And on top off, while they reopened they offered us the meal, we only had to pay our drinks. My first meal in London was at Piccolino, and I still smile just thinking about it. I had checked into my hotel, showered the 8 hour flight off of me, and set out to explore and eat. I stumbled upon all the restaurants on Heddon Street and decided on Piccolino because their patio was open. The idea of sitting outside in December made this Chicago gal GIDDY. I was seated next to one of the patio heaters, and between that and the delicious prosecco I was very warm and happy. I ordered a margherita pizza and DAMN...I swear, just being closer to Italy makes everything better. It was hands down one of the best pizzas I've ever had in my life. In my opinion, this makes the best pizzas in the UK. I have tried for years to find pizza that is as good as it is in Italy, and this is the only place that even comes close. Seriously, it's that good. It's in a lovely little side street off Regent Street, and in nice weather it's great to sit outside. I go here for the amazing pizzas, and the beautiful home-made ice-cream and sorbets, which are to die for. I've not tried anything else from the menu but my friends assure me they enjoyed their food too. Final night in London... decided to try the Regent Street Restaurant area, which consisted of a bunch of restaurants, including Piccolino. Reviewed the menu and decided to give it a try. Hostess seated me immediately. Menu looked tasty. Ordered a Sangiovese to drink and ordered the Caprese to start and Chicken with fontina, ham and sweet peppers, with a side of mashed potatoes. Wine was good, Salad was among the best Caprese salads I've ever had (very sweet tomatoes, perfect oil and Bufalo mozzarella that was perfect consistency. Chicken dish came shortly thereafter. Tasty, perfectly portioned and peppers were tasty. Ate the entire thing and would have licked the plate if socially acceptable. Mashed potatoes were the only issue; they were salty! Offered dessert and coffee, but I passed. Total bill came to 37 Euros. Service fee included, so I didn't tip further. Overall, a very good meal. read more

I am not sure why Piccolino has such mixed reviews. I've been here a few times and it's been great every time. It's not getting 5 stars purely because that's reserved for a select few including Da Mario on Gloucester Road and Pizzeria on the Green in Clapham, but it's still a great place, centrally located with good food and a good atmosphere. Best enjoyed on a warm summer evening in the outside seated area, before all the hen parties arrive at Strawberry Moons next door. read more
