Recently stopped by on a weekend night. The service was consistently friendly and attentive throughout our meal, which was pleasant. The food however was not so much. We ordered two appetizers that both were very bland and lacked basic seasonings I would expect from a well rated Italian restaurant. We further ordered a pizza that was quite disappointing. Regardless of style, it was very undercooked with a doughy crust and a lack of sauce. Overall positive service but a very poor rating on the quality of the meal. read more

A pleasant surprise! While unassuming at first, this was a little Italian gem with fantastic food. The carbonara was great, and a very healthy-sized portion. Prices are very reasonable, and the place wasn't too busy at dinner time so you'd probably be able to snag a table easily. read more

I ran into this small, quaint Italian restaurant not far from my hotel. Service was excellent. Food was good not great but it hit the spot. I ordered fairly safe offerings: I started with the vegetable soup. It was very hot and almost burned my tongue with mostly potatoes and carrots and lotsa salt. Also had the carbonara and the pasta was good but could've been more Al dente but was good nonetheless. If you're hotel is nearby, yeah sure I'd try it again but otherwise I'd go elsewhere. read more

Good Italian restaurant in Westminster- very close to st James Conrad. All 5 of us enjoyed ourselves. Picky teenagers inhaled the pizza. We h had the trip crostini's for an appetizer which was nice. Generous pour if the wine made the cold rain fade away. Based on the kids reactions we might be back real soon read more

Great place for a casual Italian meal. My wife and I both had different pasta meals and both were excellent. The sauce was delicious and the glass of Chianti was perfect. Other meals coming out of the kitchen seemed equally done to perfection. read more

Lovely little Italian on Victoria Street. Has a decent menu of traditional staples & changing daily specials for lunch & dinner. Last night was my second visit. Service was great, even though we were the last table in the place. They've got a good wine list. We shared a bottle of valepolencia. I had the lasagne. It was a good portion & full of flavour. The OH opted for the fillet beef from the specials & a lovely hunk of fillet it was. I'm not sure it touched the sides on the way down. I'm told it was cooked perfectly & was lovely & tender. As we were eating late I opted for a peppermint tea in lieu of dessert & the OH had a coffee. Handy Italian to know about in this side of the city. read more

While seated at a pub across the street, then finding out the kitchen was closed - we looked for someplace close by and still serving food. Colosseo hit the mark by a landslide. We had 2 pizzas, a pasta dish an entree salad. All were excellent. Kids had gelato for dessert and we shared a homemade tiramisu which was delish. The staff was so attentive and kind. Ok so I went here yesterday, and the menu had the worst text ever, it was so condensed and non-reader friendly I could barely make out what was in English and what was in Italian. Having finally passed the menu reading stage I ordered lasagne - safe bet one would think? But it came out mushy and weird, and I just about got the layers, and relatively tasteless. Very disappointing. Then I forced myself to order dessert in a hope that dessert would redeem the main course - sadly that was not to be. It was a ton of cream in a profiterole. What are these guys thinking?? Seriously chef needs to reconsider especially as next door there is a Pizza Express that is buzzing! read more

My family just arrived from the states and we were looking for a restaurant and we came across Colosseo. We had just been seated and were greeted by friendly staff. We started with drinks and appetizers then the power went out! They brought candles assured us that the kitchen was fully functional and we had a lovely experience. I ordered a light fish dish which was very flavorful we had also ordered some pizza and some gnocchi which was also fantastic. The fact that they kept it all together during adversity with having a partial power outage added to the efforts of the staff to take good care of their diners. read more

This restaurant was walking distance from our hotel (on Victoria) there was no wait to be seated as we dined on a Thursday night. The place was busy but our food came out quickly. This is not the best tasting Italian good but it gets the job done and is reasonably priced. Caprese salad only came with one basil leaf and my garlic bread felt like someone just smashed some garlic on their regular bread. The veggies tasted fresh and I gave them a higher rating because our service was good and the price was right. read more

Excellent Italian eatery! Casual, authentic, friendly and delicious! We wandered in on New Years Eve and the owner found a place for us, mother-daughter pair. We ordered Prosecco, bubbly water, and the artichoke starter with rocket, black olive tapenade and olive oil- bellisimo! For our main, I had the rigatoni with lamb ragout- piping hot and delicious on a cold night. My daughter had linguini with crab, mint, pumpkin in a Prosecco olive oil sauce- wow! The flavors worked! Bland, bland, bland. We were hungry for Italian food but found that most of them are closed on Sundays. So we ended up here. Fettuccine bolognese was fine but penne with sausage was all heat & no flavor. We ended up sharing the first dish & leaving most of the second. Definitely not worth $45. read more

Three stars is about right for this place, and we are pretty generous with stars. The service was weak. The food was okay to good. Most Italian restaurants bring out some bread when you order a meal, but not Colosseo (I politely asked for some, anyway, but none was delivered.) Also, we ordered an appetizer, but rather than bringing it out early to permit an enjoyable evening with our wine, the entire meal came out with the appetizer shortly after we ordered (we were not there for fast food). The restaurant was not terribly busy, but the rapid delivery and poor service made the experience seems as though the management wanted to get diners in and out as quickly as possible. Rather shabby. Maybe it should be two stars. read more

We stopped for dinner at Colosseo because it was near the hotel. We were very pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the meal. The menu is a no frills traditional Italian menu but includes all the favorites. The staff was very accommodating of my very picky daughter and service was prompt and friendly. Unfortunately, two things kept me from giving the restaurant an excellent rating: the appetizer I ordered never arrived and the sauce on the lasagna was too sweet for my taste (others might like it more than I did). read more

We came here to eat when my wife's parents were in the country visiting. We all stayed at the Crowne Plaza (4 in total) which is in walking distance. We were actually headed to a different restaurant but didn't realise they only took reservations so we walked a bit and came across Colosseo. Man am I glad we did.. I'm actually glad we didn't read reviews on here before deciding to go in because we probably would have skipped it. I'm not sure if these are old reviews or what but they're way off. We were greeted promptly at the door and seated within seconds. The service throughout the meal was excellent but not bothersome as some places can get. I ordered just a plain old Spaghetti with sauce and I definitely wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was. They make it with no meat (which my American tastes aren't used to) but it was super filling and the spices they used made me forget about the lack of meat. Also if I remember correctly that's how it's prepared traditionally anyway. If you're in the area do yourself a favour and stop here. read more

I was visiting a friend in London last week and this place is right next to her apartment. It looked cute and she had never tried it, so we gave it a shot. It wasn't miserable, but wasn't great either. I had the bresaola ravioli with an arugula pesto. Everything about it was actually quite good except that the raviolis were slightly undercooked. I like my pasta al dente, but they were more than al dente. My friends seemed to like their dishes alright. The waiter gave us another table's bill at the end of the night, which we actually didn't notice because we just handed him our credit cards. He came around after we paid and told us he would have to redo the transaction. I know we should have noticed, but he also should have at least noticed when he ran our credit cards. Overall, this place isn't bad if you live in the area I guess, but not worth going out of your way for. read more

Bland food, poor customer service. Avoid this place. Though the place was empty they sat us at a small table overlooking a filthy stairwell. I asked to sit at the table right next to us and they refused. Needless to say, no one came in to the restaurant after us. I would have let it go until the food came. Not sure why the other reviews have been so middling about this place. We went as a party of three and found it fantastic. The waiting staff were super friendly and helpful, the chef substituted gluten free pasta for one of our dishes no problem, and my linguini with sausage, mushroom and fresh chili was so simple and good that it has now spoiled me from ordering it anywhere else! read more

We loved this place. It was cold and windy and we had taken refuge in a Starbucks (finding a chai tea latte in Europe is rare). This restaurant was 3 minutes away and despite the mixed reviews, we thought it was worth the risk. For a Friday night at 5pm, we were surprised to find only one other person in the place. The waitress/hostess welcomed us and took our coats and seated us in the back of the restaurant away from the door. She was very attentive. My husband ordered the fettucine with a salad and I had the roast chicken breast with roasted potatoes and a salad. I also had a glass of their house prosecco. The meals were delicious and flavorful. Our waitress even brought us fresh grated parmasan. Afterwards we had hot chocolate and tea before going out into the cold again. All in all it was a great experience and a wonderful place to eat our last meal in London. read more

Caprese salad was tasty with a large round piece of mozzarella as opposed to slices. I had salmon that was delicious and my husband had a margherita pizza that was very thin and also very good.
