Pizza! Yummy!
H B.

Great food, great atmosphere, open until 1am! This was the only place we could find still open and they have amazing pizza, pasta, and a selection of different desserts. These guys are REAL italians. We had the tiramisu and when we were done we got offered a limoncello shot on the house! I love that it's open late for travelers. So good, highly recommend!

Delicious...and open late! We had bruschetta, Alfredo pastas, and the best vegetable minestrone soup ever! The tiramisu was homemade and out of this world. Fresh flowers on the table were also a nice touch.

I mean, I will judge this restaurant as "late nighter" considering we popped in shortly before closing and the staff was polite and generous about it. In a nutshell, I'd say this restaurant over performed my expectations. The pizza was a late night reward, wet and sloppy.

The staff here are so wonderful and the atmosphere was very charming. The pizza was absolutely delicious and at the end of our meal, we were offered limoncello on the house!

Straight back into the restaurant (where the live piano music is)

Decent food, but overpriced. It's nice to have the piano player though, who plays classical music. I came with a (boy)friend late one rainy Saturday evening around 11PM and when we asked, "are you still serving" was promptly seated with an "of course!" We sat by this pretty mural of the tourist highlights of Italy (Venice to the left, Trevy Fountain in the centre, then the Colosseum in the top-right background, with Piza in the front. While not at all geographically accurate, it was still nice to look at while waiting for our food, dining, and listening to the piano. My friend had the whitefish, which came fried (he didn't like it that much, I thought it was okay-for cooked fish...but then again, I don't really like cooked fish). I had the stuffed mushrooms and the "Maryland" chicken. The mushrooms were good, and I should have gotten bread with it to soak up the delicious butter sauce that it came in, but I wanted to save room for my entree. For the "Maryland" chicken, as someone who lived in the DC-Maryland area, I honestly would have expected Crab, NOT chicken as the pairing. I guess their interpretation of any American city is that everything is fried, which is how the dish arrived. Deep-fried, at that. Deep-fried chicken (still looking for Chicken Parm in this city, they obviously know how to do it, and this WAS an Italian restaurant). Deep-fried pineapple. Deep-fried banana. For what it's worth, the fried pineapple and banana were delicious. The chicken wasn't bad either. It's just that by the end of the meal, I was wishing for a sauce of some kind (mainly tomato, for the chicken...). It's not that the chicken was dry--actually, it quite moist for fried chicken( -oh wait, that's grease not natural moisture). It's just that after eating several fried things, my mouth wanted a bit of moist variety to go with it. (and get your mind out of the gutter.) The dessert cart was sitting right next to me, and I do have to admit that I eyed it longingly before ordering. After finishing the food, (which wasn't bad, just not fantastic) I was too full to want to eat anything else. I definitely will return to try their desserts though, because they looked amazing. I imagine sitting, eating the delicious tiramisu, listening to the piano...ah, it's a nice idea.

I love local restaurants, as much as possible when I travel. Trattoria Verdi is a good find. Just a few steps away from the Hilton Doubletree hotel on Southampton Row and two blocks from Holborn Tube it's worth checking out Very friendly staff from Italy. Fresh food, nice specials. I had the Tre Colori Insalata, with fresh avocado, fresh mozzarella and tomatoes. The chicken special, Cesar Polli was excellent. Live piano music was especially nice as well. I highly recommend this place!!

The staff were very nice but the food was pretty bland. Fettuccine Alfredo lacked sufficient sauce and the pasta was mildly under cooked.

Lasagna is a must try. Whole place has a family owned ambiance and really comes through in the service, which is excellent!

The service was friendly and I met the owner Sharon and we had a lovely chat. My roast arrived and it was just the meal I needed. Roast beef smothered in brown gravy, veggies cooked to perfection, and Yorkshire pudding (a light delicate bread) and I washed it down with a Diet Coke. Truly such savory meal that didn't feel heavy at all. With that fuel I hoped on thr tube and explored London. Priced fairly and a space with a rich musical history, I'd gladly be a water rat again!

The place had a nice, spacious vibe, and since it was really early, we pretty much had it all to ourselves. But what really made it special was what we found out afterward-- Here's the cool part: there's been a public house on this site for over 500 years! The current building was put up in 1878. It was a regular hangout for none other than Karl Marx and Lenin--how wild is that? The walls are covered with photos of famous performers who've been there, along with images from the Grand Order of Water Rats. The whole place just feels rich with history--both old and more recent. The pub was bought in 1986 by the Grand Order of Water Rats, a showbiz charity whose members have included legends like Charlie Chaplin, and currently, Rick Wakeman. Even cooler--it's where Bob Dylan played his first-ever UK gig back in the 1960s. Since then, it's hosted the London debuts of bands like The Pogues and Oasis. And in this tiny back room, they've had live performances by major international stars, including Katy Perry.

A cozy long sized bed and sofa to lounge when we needed to chill without lying down. There was ample closet space and some shelving to putting away clothes. The desk area was very nice and roomy with a nice style about it. The lamps had good lighting that was warm and inviting. The bathroom had good water pressure and sink space to place all toiletries. The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. They allowed us to use the amenities at their spa when our room wasn't ready and we needed to clean up from the all-day travels we had spent since the day before coming over from the States. Staying at the hotel is an experience from the fact that this Victorian building used to be the original train station for St. Pancras. They have repurposed the high-ceiling gothic interior that originally served for the meeting and ticketing offices for the main lobby area and the Booking Office 1869 bar. The grandeur of the design is allowed to fully take place in the superb elements of fine dining and comforting relaxation. The Booking Office Bar & Restaurant was a mainstay for us during our time at the hotel. It's difficult not to want to check out the Victorian splendor of that interior while enjoying delicious cocktails and food at the bar or one of the nearby tables. While we didn't have the opportunity to enjoy the Victorian Punch Hour that was at 5:05 each afternoon, it is something of heard to check out if you can. In addition to the Booking Office, there is the Hansom in the lobby, the Seasonal Terrance for wine hour, MI + ME, and the Gothic Bar. The latter of which was also quite magical with its Victorian design and grand luxurious interior with darkly warm lighting and creative cocktail menu. Located next to King's Cross Station in addition to St. Pancras International Station, you have immediate access to the high-speed rail system that takes you as far north as Scotland and south throughout the heart of Europe. You have one of the central hubs to multiple Underground rail stations that can take you all through Central London and its outskirts. You are also a very short walking distance from both the British Library and the British Museum. Like literally across the street close. The St. Pancras was an excellent choice for a hotel during our stay in Central London. I hope we can return again when set our course back across the pond.

This venue is a gorgeous old livery building complete with grassy green courtyard and fountain at its heart that would've been lovely to sit in the afternoon sun were it not for the management team waiting to present upstairs. There were sunlit reception drinks on the upper level overlooking the courtyard through floor-to-ceiling windows, which led through to the spacious main presentation room. The 3-course lunch was delicious - a goat's cheese starter on flaky pastry, a salmon main served unusually on a mushroom with an almost sweet red sauce, and creme brulee for dessert that needed a pleasing amount of force to smash the top. Superb service meant it was all delivered and cleared smoothly and silently - and whilst wearing soft black gloves! Special kudos for the mini pot of jelly babies in the middle of each table too - I may have been playing the serious grown-up hard at work but they were the perfect light-hearted touch to make me smile :) Impressive all round - I'll be looking out for more meetings in this venue again!
