Spaghetti house was a surprise meal for us. The restaurant's interior is nice for whether it's a nice date or a quick meal with friends and family. Our server was an awesome guy! I only wish we'd gotten his name to shout him out. As for the food, it was delicious. My favorite part of the meal might have had to be the tiramisu, which was had such a great flavor without it being overpowering.

You can have a solid Italian meal at Spaghetti House. They serve several classic dishes. The service is prompt and that is probaly part of their business plan. With a continuous stream of customers, they turn over their tables pretty regularly. My noodles were just shy of al dente and the sauce is full bodied. With wine and bread, I had a full meal.

On our first day in London, we wanted to get some Italian cuisine after spending a few hours on the train. We found Spaghetti House within walking distance from our hotel. I didn't know it was a chain restaurant until I saw other locations around town. I was able to schedule a same day reservation online. This restaurant caters to tourists since I didn't see any locals dining in. Upon arriving, the staff greeted us and we were seated promptly. We ordered some wine and the avocado salmon toast for starters. The app was pretty good and saved just enough room for the main course. Hubby ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese which had a tasty sauce and fresh pasta. I had the Spaghetti Carbonara - sauce was creamy with thick chunks of bacon. It would have been perfect if it wasn't too salty. We did enjoy our first meal in the city. The staff is very friendly and attentive. It was easy to order and the menu is available in English.

Haven't been here in years. Used to come to London often. Since my travels gave me returning... decided to try it again!! Hoping it was the same great place I used to know. Of course I didn't realize it was Valentines Day. Oh no. No worries... I was welcomed( by myself) warning and seated at a great little table. Server showed me the special Valentines Day menu. Prix Fixe. It looked lovely. But decided to order ala cart. Had a delightful Aperol Spritzer. And zucchini frites. Crispy goodness! And server was ready with extra fresh grated Parmesan cheese. Then to the house salad. Oh so delightful. Fresh avocado and greens and lightly dressed. And then the pasta!! Fresh Tagliatelle with chicken and mushrooms. I ordered the small portion. Still had half left to bring to my hotel for the next day. So happy to say... it is still the great restaurant I remember!!

I literally dream of this pizza! Favorite place to get pizza in London. I get the margarita pizza with fries and olives as an app. The pizza was not too doughy or crispy--just cooked to perfection. I will say this margarita pizza differed from a traditional margarita pizza back in The States and was more like a cheese pizza but still delicious. The fries were SO good too (but all fries are better over here). The first time I came here I was treated like royalty. Great waitstaff and great conversation. Very quaint inside with a decent amount of tables. I would check if you could make reservations during busy times. Can't wait to come back!

Loved the vibe. Small, intimate space. Staff was friendly. Food was seasoned well, although I think the pasta was slightly undercooked for all our dishes. We ordered a bread appetizer and everything in the basket was really good. Nice stop for a quick meal.

This was a cute little place near our hotel and close to Kensington Park. We had a nice window seat. I will say the food was really good. The service a bit slow and brisk. My mom had a pepperoni pizza which she liked. It was a good size, not too thick, lots of cheese and pepperoni. I had the Spaghetti di verdure & gamberi - Spiralized courgettes, king prawns, shrimp, cherry tomatoes, chilli and white wine. It was really tasty. The zucchini was the noodles, lots of tasty shrimp. Something different but really tasty. For dessert, my mom had the vanilla and chocolate gelato sundae. She really enjoyed it. I had a nice mango sorbet. This is a great little neighborhood place but also caters to tourists. Go food, good location. Service could be a bit nicer but overall this a good place.

Ravioli Piselli e Scalogno

Just has some of the best Italian food we have eaten outside of Italy! This small, intimate and unassuming restaurant was a great surprise. The food is really good! I had the Spaghetti Polpettine - beautiful dressed spaghetti in a perfect San Marzano sauce with three luscious meatballs cooked in red wine with porcini mushrooms. My partner had the Ravioli with pumpkin and a fresh tomato sauce. Our lovely waitress grated a generous amount of fresh parmesano onto the dishes. I both meals were truly delicious! We couldn't resist dessert so my partner had the Tentazione al Cioccolato - and it was genuinely a temptation, while I had a pistachio gelato. The service was warm and friendly. The whole experience exceeded our expectations!

Pepperoni with spicy sausage is amaze balls good!

After a long day of exploration, we wanted a simple pizza to take to the hotel. We ordered a regular pepperoni diavolo which had spicy sausage. Hold the red peppers and WOW this was the best way to end our London visit. It was fast homemade pizza and the taste was spot on delish!!

They call this cream carmel, it tasted like Flan.

It was the kind of Italian restaurant I always enjoy; authentic with house made pasta, friendly service and fresh menu that is very reasonably priced. As we were some of the early dinners, they let us choose our table. Once seated we were presented with olives and freshly made foccacia to snack on while we checked out the menu. It didn't take us long as we were both in the mood for pasta and I jump at the chance to get grilled squid whenever I see it. Shockingly, we both passed on the crab ravioli special that our server was raving about. While that sounded very good, we had no regrets with how we played it. -Fresh wild rocket with shaved parmesan and cherry tomatoes -Marinated grilled baby squid -Pappardelle con Salsiccia e Funghi-Homemade pasta with sausage, mushrooms and red onions -Tagliolini con Gamberi e Zucchine-Homemade pasta with prawns, courgettes, chilli and tomato sauce. -Tiramisu I had the pasta with sausage and it was excellent, as was my wife's prawn pasta. The tiramisu was a very good one. After settling up our inexpensive bill, we were offered comp limoncellos, grappa or sambuca. We passed, though that is a nice touch. I also got to work on my improving grasp of the Italian language with the staff and left feeling fairly confident that I could have done it all in Italian, if necessary. Pleasant service, cozy setting and a delectable menu that's well priced. We'll be back and often.

First off the food was decent however for £15 per small plate of pasta I felt underwhelmed given the price. Perhaps that's just London. The service was slow at times also perhaps typical for London. They messed up the first dessert order (soufflé) and in all it was almost half an hour until it showed up. They did offer a complimentary dessert drink but I rarely drink alcohol so it only benefited my date. I would say there are better options. -A

Really enjoy this place by the river. Good atmosphere and love the food. Will come againread more

Gazette is one of my local restaurants and I was surprised that no-one on Yelp has reviewed it yet!…read moreIt's a gem of a place, hidden away off the (rather nasty and quite smelly) York Road on the Battersea / Wandsworth border. Nestled between riverside apartments the restaurant offers traditional French cuisine in a relaxed and informal setting. It markets itself as a cafe, bar, brassiere and private room. To be fair, it's a restaurant on the top floor and a nice bar on the lower level (perfect for reading the paper and relaxing). The private room isn't exactly massive, and has a glass partition, so it's not exactly 'private' per se, just slightly removed from the other diners. My partner had his 40th b.day here and it was a great success. The menu was tailor made, with all his favourite things: truffles, foie gras, confit of duck etc. I ate here a couple of weeks ago with my mum, her friend and my other half. Service was good, if a little slow at times. The place is very very French so don't expect to be hurried with your meal - this is about relaxing and taking your time. Similarly, the service, timing and pacing of your meal will reflect this. The wine list is MASSIVE, and I do mean massive. However, if the owner is about (Walter) he will be more than happy to guide you to a suitable choice. Prices aren't cheap, but the selection is superb. The menu changes daily and has been designed to appear like a newspaper front page. I had snails to start, and then salmon with sweet potato for main. The snails were delicious, swimming in melted butter (I daren't even begin to think about how many calories were in it) , they also had a deliciously earthy taste. Yum. The salmon was cooked well, and the sweet potato was fine, if well, a little watery. My fellow diners had similarly hit and misses with their choices, a mustard and tomato tart was disappointing, a veal main course was served luke warm and had to be sent back (not a problem, and it was dealt with quickly and didn't impact on our enjoyment one bit), foie gras starter for my other half was delicious with red onion jam. Just another note about the way the food is served. Everything is quite 'rustic' so don't be surprised if your food comes served in a large pot / pan / dish. It's a cute gimmick, but not essential. Although must be a nightmare for the poor waiting staff. Speaking of the waiting staff 100% of them are French and have varying levels of English. So do try and be patient or ask another server. I find it adds to the whole French experience! Anyhoo, Gazette is well worth a look if you're in the area. it's also a great place to go with friends for a group birthday / event as long as you're not wanting to hit the local nightclubs after (they're aren't any). The place can get a little rowdy with the right crowd there and also for big sporting events (especially involving the French) you'll find a large ex-pat community.

As of this review the establishment has been open for a little over four weeks. The service reflects this, the staff are charming, helpful and quite knowledgeable but they come across as a little nervous and slightly unsure of themselves at times. I can only imagine they will continue to improve from what is a solid start. The opening cocktails at the bar were decent, but not spectacular. The starter of scallops was a little too salty for my preferences, but otherwise great. Likewise the wild boar ravioli with chocolate flakes was innovative and worked very well. It's often said, somewhat tongue-in-cheek, that a place can be judged on its cheeseboard and toilets. Here they score very well. The cheeseboard had some classics such as mature Comté and a few more obscure offerings that catered for a wide variety of tastes. The cheeseboard looks sure to adapt to local preferences and the waiter eluded to the appearance of mature Gouda which is always a hit. If there was one easy win for them I would suggest really toning down the music. The songs catered for people of a certain age. Being of that age they were nostalgic and enjoyable - but often too loud. Let the food and the people do the talking - not Meredith Brooks. In short this place has a lot of potential, the location has always been great and offers good views over the river, the food is very good, as is the service. If you are comparing this to other nearby options such as the more expansive Marco Polo go to View 94, it's better in every respect. It's currently a little expensive for what they are, but the pricing is probably about right for where they will be.

Step inside, and you could be forgiven for wondering what just happened. One minute you're wandering down a quiet back-road in Battersea, overlooked by council houses and the odd school. The next, you're in a low-lit room, a bar ahead of you lined with upside-down wine glasses, candles and fairy lights, wooden chairs and tables to your left and right and small, elegant plants against the walls, in between scores of 1930s vintage pictures. If you've arrived after 8pm, the live music will be playing. Usually gypsy jazz, but often other types of recognisably 1930s jazz too: A piano, some vocals, a woodwind instrument.. It's easy to imagine yourself as an extra in the English Patient or whatever your favourite film set in the 1930s is. The service is friendly and quick. The food is a mixture of French, central European and north African, and pretty good too. The wine, beer and spirits list is basic but good enough to accompany the food or quaff slowly whilst enjoying the music. QueCumbar's website quotes local press as saying this place would be perfect for a first date. I'd go further than that. If your girl/guy has a just a hint of a musical soul or a smidgen of interest in the 1930s/40s, I'd say that taking them to QueCumbar will firmly tilt things in your favour! If they're big fans of the era or jazz... best get planning that second date! It's cheap too. Arrive before 8pm and the music is free. After 8pm and it's just £5. Food is in the £10-£15 range and drink is the usual. Overall? Well worth checking out, whether you're into jazz, 1930s vintage, or want to go somewhere original and unique.
