After a full day of walking around parts of London, we searched for a restaurant that sounded good. We found this one right near the county buildings. It is fairly small inside (I feel like most UK restaurants are) but we were able to be seated immediately almost sharing a table with another family. No problem. It was right near an outlet which means I was able to charge my phone. Food was delicious. I love trying food in other countries because of the different types of spices and seasonings that are used. Food arrived quickly. Very filling. No major complaints. Just felt a bit rushed by our waiter, the only real down side. read more

Accidentally stumbled upon this cute little place on a Monday night. Was seated right away. Everything was delicious! I got the lasagna, my friend got the salmon, and we shared the tiramisu. Although I don't Cucina is anything to write home about, it's definitely a fine place to grab some food while you check out the nearby attractions. The food itself was fine. Not exactly authentic Italian food, but the pasta was alright (albeit a little salty). They do not give bread or anything with your meal. Portion sizes were average. Inside the atmosphere is actually pretty cozy and intimate. They have nice decor and furniture, and everything was very clean. I can't remember whether they have a public bathroom available. Service was very fast and friendly. After a long journey and feeling a bit of jet lag, we just wanted to grab a quick bite for dinner close to our hotel. We passed by Cucina and after glancing at the menu, we decided to give it a shot. Walking in, there were a couple open tables and we were told to seat ourselves. It took a couple minutes before menus were brought to us and another few minutes before our drink and food orders were taken. I was starting to wonder if it was a mistake choosing Cucina... but luckily, things got better. We ordered the grilled chicken breast w/ chips and the bangers & mash. Both entrees came out hot and appetizing (looking). I was so hungry I forgot to take photos - grrr!! Anyway, the grilled chicken breast was very well cooked - very moist and not dry at all. The chips were served nice and crisp and it came with a green salad. The bangers & mash were good, as well. Three sausages and a generous mound of mashed w/ gravy. I don't know if it's because we were so hungry but we cleaned our plates (and our toddler seemed to enjoy the sausages and chips, as well). Baby had a scoop of strawberry ice cream for dessert. Total for two drinks (cider & wine), two entrees, and one dessert came to about 52 pounds (12.5% gratuity automatically included). Group was hungry and wanted to eat at the sight of the first visible restaurant however if that was the case we'd have find a better restaurant to it liking. Came here for a late dinner when my friend and I first got into London because it was walking distance from our hotel. I got bruschetta and my friend got a margherita pizza and asked for pepperoni. My bruschetta was good, but i wish the bread would've been toasted. And for £1.15 extra to add pepperoni, you'd expect more than FOUR pepperoni slices. All in all it wasn't a bad place. If you are looking for a place to eat.. DO NOT GO HERE. Let's see where do I start? We were walking around looking at places to eat on this street and were looking at the outside menus, we got to Cucina, looked at the outside menu for 5 seconds and a waiter opened the door and forced menus in our hand. My girlfriend was extremely hungry so we walked in and sat. After about 2 mins the same waiter was serving us, asked us what we wanted to order, I wanted the spaghetti bogonese, but waiter informed me that they did not have that today and ended up settling with the pasta with spicey sausage, or so I thought . My girlfriend ordered the "margarita pizza", or so she thought. Food came out in about 4 minutes and boy was it horrific. I mean, how did the owner come to the conclusion to open up a restaurant? Where in his mind did he have an idea to serve people food? The pizza was no where near a margarita, they literally served us chuck e cheese pizza with basil slapped on it and called it 'margarita', give me a break, and then my dish, the pasta with spicey sausage whatever, was just horrible. I literally think they opened up a can of chef boy r Dee and served it to us. This place is literally robbing people when they charge for they're food. Do yourself a favor and grab a hot dog off the street vendors as you will save time and money , than this garbage. read more

My Eggs Benedict poached eggs were done perfectly, the breads toasted and tomato roasted to almost perfections. However, everything tasted a tad bland. I wish I had ketchup, salt and pepper. The Mediterranean breakfast was pleasant. We had these with English Breakfast tea, which was from tea bags. Everything totaled to 19.52 pounds including tax.
