Food was the weakest I had in London. Pasta was overpriced and had no taste. Carpaccio was decent but literally polished it off in three seconds. The bread is decent but was ripped off heavily for it. I should have had pizza, which I later found out is delicious in this great city. Fairly authentic Italian in the heart of London. The mozzarella for the Burrato appetizer was fresh and smooth. I had the gnocchi, which were pillow-soft serve in a very light red sauce. My dining companion had one of their gourmet pizzas and loved it (she's Italian and is very picky about her pizza). But I really want to point out the service - impeccable. Dropped by this small, bright and airy location right before a show at the Globe nearby. While I didn't have a reservation they offered to sit me outside or on a barstool in the window. I chose the window. Service was swift and efficient with three different people waiting on me. I ordered Parmesan focaccia to start and a glass of Sangiovese. Unfortunately, right next to me was a large vase of very fragrant lilies and I am not too fond of that scent. It did interfere a little with the flavor of everything. Came here for dinner after booking a last minute table. Service was good. Wine pour was v decent. We shared the burrata with some seawater bread along with arancini to start. For my main I ordered the Sorrento pizza with added nduja. I chose a tiramisu for dessert. My pizza was delicious. Portions are huge so it seemed v reasonable. Not a five because the table for three we were sat at seemed sufficient for two only so it felt a bit squished. You may end up here if you can't get into nearby Padella. I took my parents here on their last night visiting me and it was the perfect end to their holiday. Every single one of us loved everything we had. I was very disappointed in both the service and food at this restaurant. We were on vacation from the U.S. and decided to try this restaurant on a whim. The servers did not take our drink orders, only the entrees. I ordered a glass of wine that never made it to my table, but was on the bill. My wife did not eat her Parmigiana De Melanzane because it was not to her liking. After the server was made aware of both issues he did not even attempt to make it right. The ambience may not suit everyone however, if you like a small, cozy, locals atmosphere, this is the place. Start with the bread made out of purified sea water. It's amazing. The food was great, the service was a little slow, but the place was slammed when I went, without a reservation I might add, but they did manage to squeeze us in. The area around Borough Market is becoming prime restaurant estate with many of London's latest and more exciting eateries opening in this area. This is especially true of this newest pizzeria. Basing its pizza style like true Neapolitan pizza with ingredients from Italy including seawater to ensure authenticity. Mamma mia! This chic pizzeria of simple design, white walls, modern wooden tables and the exposed open kitchen is small but feels quite airy and open. The service is friendly, albeit a bit slow in getting food to the table, but the place is new and and perhaps still finding its rhythm. The menu had some nice choices, not just pizzas, like the eggplant parmigiana which looked very tempting, and what is becoming a restaurant trend, small individual plates of charcuterie meats such as prosciutto di Parma and fennel salami. The pizza menu correctly had traditional Marinara and Margherita pizzas, but some exciting varieties too such as one with rocket and prosciutto, and one featuring Sorrento lemons... I may have to go back for that one as it sounded delicious and unique. But for a first outing I did pick the classico Margherita which was perfection. The dough was amazing, crispy yet a bit chewy just as it should be. The best pizza I've had in London for sure.
