    Burrata Pesto Pizza

This is more than just a pizza place. My friend and I spent the summer abroad in London and Pizza Pilgrims was always our go to. The staff is incredibly welcoming. The main hostess is so kind and lovely. The chef is a delight and makes a delicious pizza pie. Everything on their menu impeccable I honestly have never eaten an entire pizza so fast. Specifically, I can recommend the mushroom truffle pizza and to add their chili oil to the crust for the best bite of your life. The entire experience at Pizza Pilgrims is wonderful and we will miss it so much. If you're near Exmouth Market you must pay them a visit and tell them your two gal friends from California sent you. Truly the kindest, most hard working and genuine staff. Pizza Pilgrims, best pizza in London.

I really like Pizza Pilgrims - so much that I could probably eat an entire pizza by myself - it took me a lot of restraint from eating the entire thing solo. I had eaten at Franco Manca a few weeks ago, and I preferred the pizza here at Pizza Pilgrims over Franco Manca. The crust was similar to Franco Manco in that it was like a sourdough/Neapolitana style dough, with a bit of chewiness and a thin crust. I think I liked this more than Franco Manca because of the toppings (there were more choices that were more up my alley: nduja (spicy pork), they had a white pizza with sausage, mushrooms and truffle oil, a white pizza with sausage, broccoli. They have a calzone, normal margherita or marinara pizza. The pizzas range from £5.50 for marinara, to about £11, but the average is £8-9. I loved the nduja pizza (£9) - it was pretty simple with just tomato sauce, mozzarella, basil, and the nduja. I could have eaten the entire thing by myself (I almost did but saved one slice for the next day) The crust to me was thin but not as soggy as Franco Manca, and I liked the cheese and tomato sauce better. I'm definitely coming back to try some of the other pizzas. Where it felt flat was the salad -- I tried to be healthy and it back-fired on me. For £4, I got a small amount of arugula, some parmesan cheese and balsamic vinegar. I could have made this at home for £1. Skip this and get some other breadsticks or pizza instead. If you're in the area and craving pizza, this is a very solid option. The pizza comes out super quickly - I was there late one weeknight and the pizza was ready in just minutes. I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way across town to eat here, but if you're in the area, this a good, reasonably priced option -- minus the salad (skip that!) The restaurant itself is pretty small, so don't come with a huge group. 2-6 people is probably an idea party size. I'll be back here again. 4 to 4.5 stars for great pizza! I haven't compared this to Homeslice yet, so not sure how this stacks up against that!

    Calzone - very good

Very tasty pizza. Dough is to at the homeslice level IMO, but then again, what is? Shared the fennel sausage and calzone with my companion. Calzone was better I think but both were good. For pizza and 2 drinks (mine was soft) we paid 15 each i think. Would be back but keen to try other places 1st. For example, Santore down the street has even better Neapolitan pizza with more flavours for about the same prize. It's more of a traditional Italian restaurant though, so depends what vibe you're after!

While I've had Pizza Pilgrims before, it was always from their van at food events, never in a restaurant setting. We were out Geocaching and ended up at Exmouth Market on a non-market day, and I spied Pizza Pilgrims and decided I needed to try their pizza with the comfort of a chair and a knife and fork, and I wasn't disappointed! It's a small place, but as we arrived at around 4pm on a Saturday, it was pretty empty. We were quickly seated downstairs. We decided to share an aubergine parmigiana pizza, and that we'd have the Nutella and ricotta ring for dessert. The pizza came and it was delicious - the crust was full of flavour, and the aubergine, basil, garlic and tomatoes all blended together to make a delicious pizza. It was actually pretty filling and as we didn't arrive starving, we decided we just didn't have room for the dessert. It was a pretty good deal for £9, too. I'll be back when I'm hungrier for sure!

A new @pizzapilgrims in Exmouth Market is opening this Monday and I was fortunate to go eat there this weekend. One cocktail I haven't tried before was 'Lola's Cherry Cola': Prosecco, Disoranno, Chinotto, Glacé Cherry. What's not to like about these ingredients. This was light sweet and refreshing. My sort of cocktail. For mains we shared the veggie of aubergine, and two meats of porchetta and salami. Thought the salami was jam packed with toppings and had a great smokiness to it. Aubergine could have done with a bit more on it. The 'Peppa Pig' Special might be a new branch at Exmouth Market special but had to order and try. A margherita base with Porchetta and Sweet & Spicy Poponcini peppers. Was good. Still preferred the salami I think. For dessert we had a Nutella and Ricotta Salted ring. This was awesome. No words. Also had a quite strange mix of ice cream and espresso. You literally had to pour the hot espresso into the cold ice cream and mix. Weird. Tasted like coffee ice cream by the end; Which I liked, but it was a bit of a strange concept. Seems like a drunken idea one night down the pub. "Oi oi...you know what would be amazing?...coffee chasers with ice cream.....nah mate better still you know what, just pour the f-ing thing into the ice cream...hot into cold innit. Pizza Pilgrims very own Heston science experiment". NOTE: I just realised it's called an 'Affogato' and is quite common in Italy. Learn something new everyday! Customers can also design their own pizza boxes. Of which they are kept by Pizza Pilgrims. Cool Idea. Some are on the walls. Decor of which is nice. Footloose and Lethal Weapon italian posters on the wall too. I do wish the place as whole was bigger though. All in all when tomato pizzas are this good it's hard to fault it. Service was fantastic by the way. They are so chilled and friendly. Really hope it goes well for them. Third branch but a banging location.

Pizza are easy. All you need is good dough, a wood-fired oven and some excellent quality toppings. Easy peasy, in theory. And yet so many places get it wrong. But not Pizza Pilgrims. I have many favourite (basically half the menu) but I'd especially recommend the Fennel sausage white pizza and the signature 'Nduja (spicy ground sausage). And if you're feeling especially creative, you can also submit a new piece to Pizza Pilgrims' pizza box wall of fame!

Went for lunch with a friend. If you only have a short time for lunch either go early or later, there is a queue between 12:30 1:30 but after that it became much quieter. Pizza was great and the staff were also very friendly.

Great pizzzas. Charming friendly service. The rocket side salad was even so good. I'd add it to the top of a pizza for extra treat!

Bilal had remembered an area nearby and we walked there. It was a rainy one and legging it was nice only because the rain mercifully slowed for a few minutes. We smelled something great. Walked for a bit and all three of us looked at each other and said... Let's go back to the wonderful smell! So glad we did. Our server spoke w Mo in Italian and was so sweet. Oh my gosh -- this was genuinely the worst restaurant experience I've ever had in the UK…read more We politely mentioned that we didn't enjoy one of the pasta dishes and simply requested a small modification. Instead of trying to resolve the issue professionally, the owner became extremely rude and dismissive. Shockingly, he brought us the bill immediately, refused to serve the rest of the items we had already ordered (including the tiramisu), and directly asked us to leave the restaurant. We were calm and respectful throughout the interaction, but he refused to even listen to our side before abruptly ending the conversation with, "I'll get your bill," and telling us to leave. I honestly don't know whether he was irritated because we had an infant with us or because we requested a modification, but the behaviour was completely unacceptable and deeply disappointing. I still can't believe a restaurant in London could treat customers this way. Truly unbelievable service and an experience I would never want anyone else to go through. We initially ordered 3 items. The pizza was absolutely fine, so we never raised any concern about it. However, the pasta simply didn't suit our taste buds, so we politely requested a few alterations. Instead of handling it professionally, you refused to serve the tiramisu as well -- assuming we'd dislike that too and ask for modifications? Honestly, I wish I had taken a picture of the pasta to show how it looked. As a restaurant owner, you should understand that every customer has different taste preferences. And just for clarification -- we never asked for the pasta to be cancelled. In fact, we were even willing to pack it and take it home after paying for it, despite not liking the taste. You were the one who offered to cancel the remaining order, and we simply agreed. I would humbly request whoever is in charge to please check the CCTV footage and see whether we were ever rude while requesting alterations. Throughout the interaction, you only kept speaking from your side and didn't even give my wife a chance to explain. Is that really what good customer service looks like?

The upstairs is a corner view onto a street with dark woods and leather booths, while inside an open kitchen and a low-key young crew is putting out some simple, tasty food. Mostly appetizers, pastas and some pesce and carne dishes. Not a destination, but a good spot and one of the few restaurants on the street open on a Sunday. The downstairs basement hosts a cocktail bar that was closed on the Sunday we visited. We enjoyed the feel of the place, along with a bit of montepulciano d'abruzzo, some olives, a green salad, pork belly and a toothsome risotto with zucchini and prawns. Not a bad meal, priced pretty well, and a nice setting with friendly staff. We had such a good time that we failed to notice the police inspectress inside talking to the Paesan crew. The white and red police tape line both inside and outside the restaurant were in our peripheral view the whole dinner, but once outside, we noticed that a gigantic police triangle of tape took up the entire street corner, a female inspector was stationed there, and that down on the cobblestone sidewalk, a streetful of dessicated lemon and lime wedges lay from the night before, leading us to ponder, what exactly had happened here?

The waitress was helpful and calm and the red wine warm and fruity. I'll come again for definites. There is a cocktail bar in the basement and a choice of some interesting sharing options on the main menu for groups. Prices are very reasonable and if my meal was anything to go by, the rest will be as good. I am well impressed.
