Fire & Stone is a reliable pizza place in the heart of Covent Garden. Why, you ask? 1) They always have a deal on! At the moment, they have a deal for 2 pizzas and a jug of Pimms for £20. Such good value! 2) No queue. It's rare to find decent food in Covent Garden without having to wait. 3) Tasty, unique pizzas. At the same time, I wouldn't necessarily come here if they didn't have a special offer. I don't really think the pizzas are worth £10-12 especially because you can go next door to Franco Manca for something more affordable. The pizzas are good, but not particularly special. I also thought the service was just OK. Come here if you're looking for a no-fuss meal out in Covent Garden, and check online before you head there to see what promotions they have!

Brilliantly unique and clever!!! Had reserved in advance as it can get quite busy, there were six of us. Got to our seats quickly and ordering was quick however it was a fairly long wait for the food. Now it is not your run of the mill Pizzeria. The Pizzas are named after world cities-each unique and celebration of that regions food. There are Pizzas named as Hanoi, Montego Nay, New York, Mumbai, London etc each a celebration of local cuisine. And there is a wide range to choose from. It is further customisable and comes in either in a regular or crispy finish (additional £1.50 charged for crispy). I choose Montego Bay (£11) Regular (Jerk chicken with BBQ Sauce and Mango and Coriander Salsa) which was very good but sweeter than I expected. We Washed it down with a Chianti (£21 a bottle) which was good. Good experience over all and highly recommended but book in advance! Go here only if expect the unexpected as you won't find a single recognisable pizza in the menu!

Fire and Stone is a restaurant with a difference, on entering the restaurant you are faced with a gigantic pizza oven in the shape of a chimney and inside you can see the pizzas cooking! The restaurant itself is pretty relaxing and a great place to come with friends or a date, they do great deals like 2 pizzas for £10 which is great. Their pizzas are pretty amazing, they have a great selection of pizzas from around the globe, I chose the Cairo African pizza which comprised of roasted red and yellow peppers, balsamic roasted red onions, Mozzarella, tomatoes sauce, crumbled goats cheese and pine nuts which was really delicious and my date got the Byron Bay Australia pizza which was made of basil pesto, mixed marinated mushrooms, mozzarella, garlic and rosemary roasted potatoes, sour cream, smoked paprika and caramelised onion jam which was pretty awesome too! We got a bottle of Argentinian wine for £16 which was lovely.

One thing I do like about this place is the concept. They offer pizzas that you can no longer associate with being Italian. Toppings you never expect to find on a pizza such as the London variety which consists of cumberland sausage, streaky bacon, chunks of roast potato with roasted cherry tomatoes and roasted field mushrooms = items of an English breakfast. The concept sounds good but sadly like most big chains, quality is missing. The branch in Covent Garden was huge and completely filled on midweek evening around 7pm. Staff were efficient and friendly which was nice but sadly the food let us down. We decided to start on drinks and a Tropical smoothie and Real choc chip smoothie was ordered. I really didn't feel this awesome choice could have let us know but it really did. The Tropical smoothie was so sour we had to ask the barman to add a couple spoonfuls of syrup in there to make it drinkable whilst my shake was so powdery I kept getting bits stuck in my teeth. Not a great start. For the pizzas we decided to go deluxe and chose to have both pizzas on the thin & Crispy Base. It was £1.25 extra and was described to be larger, thinner and crispier base. Being new to this place we decided to stick with the customer favourites so we couldn't go wrong and with that in mind we ordered the New York and the Texas. As cool as the New York pizza was described, toppings including streaky bacon, garlic and rosemary roast potatoes, caramelised onions, smoked paprika, sour cream and chives, it was bland. In fact there were like five of each item on that pizza and sparsely scattered. It looked like they had a large budget cut looking at previous pictures of the same pizza. Quantity wouldn't have been a problem if it didn't taste so dry. It was baked too long that the bacon harden, the cheese was completely glued to the pizza and became translucent and the tomato sauce was no longer apparent. We couldn't taste any garlic in there or any of the ingredients to be honest. Somehow all the flavours got lost somewhere. Better was the Texas pizza which was thankfully flavoured and sweetened by the Barbecued rump steak and caramelised onions. It was also added moisture to the pizza itself with the steak being surprisingly tender and succulent and the onions nice and softened. This one was worth getting for the steak pieces as I was still very disappointed the base, tasteless and overdone. They could have been more generous with the cheese too. We shared a side of polenta chips but sadly this was bland as well and had no essence of the rosemary or black pepper as described. We also thought it was wrongly paired with tomato salsa as it was impossible to dip the polenta in being watery and lumpy. If anything it needed something more thick, smooth and creamy, something that clings on to add taste. The whole food experience was a let down with only the Texas pizza worth mentioning but purely for the steak itself rather than the pizza. The base itself was nothing special, crispy as described but bland and cannot compare to all those new pizza joints out there. The pizza don't come cheap either, over £10 for most pizzas and with that price you can get a much better quality elsewhere, two awesome Bianca pizzettes from Da Polpo. Sadly it's not a place I will be returning any time soon. In the area it's in it just feels like another tourist trap.

Big venue pizza restaurant in Theatreland. Food (pizza) is about average and it's a comfortable space, good for groups. Service however was exceptional.

If you are a fan of plain pizza - don't go there! I just LOVE the pizza varieties there. I've travelled from Europe to Australia and Asia and need yet to explore Asia and the USA. My favourite pizza is "Peking" with slices of cucumber and roasted duck. I have never seen such variety on pizza before and I'm looking forward to trying out many more pizza cities there.

Bilal had remembered an area nearby and we walked there. It was a rainy one and legging it was nice only because the rain mercifully slowed for a few minutes. We smelled something great. Walked for a bit and all three of us looked at each other and said... Let's go back to the wonderful smell! So glad we did. Our server spoke w Mo in Italian and was so sweet. Oh my gosh -- this was genuinely the worst restaurant experience I've ever had in the UK…read more We politely mentioned that we didn't enjoy one of the pasta dishes and simply requested a small modification. Instead of trying to resolve the issue professionally, the owner became extremely rude and dismissive. Shockingly, he brought us the bill immediately, refused to serve the rest of the items we had already ordered (including the tiramisu), and directly asked us to leave the restaurant. We were calm and respectful throughout the interaction, but he refused to even listen to our side before abruptly ending the conversation with, "I'll get your bill," and telling us to leave. I honestly don't know whether he was irritated because we had an infant with us or because we requested a modification, but the behaviour was completely unacceptable and deeply disappointing. I still can't believe a restaurant in London could treat customers this way. Truly unbelievable service and an experience I would never want anyone else to go through. We initially ordered 3 items. The pizza was absolutely fine, so we never raised any concern about it. However, the pasta simply didn't suit our taste buds, so we politely requested a few alterations. Instead of handling it professionally, you refused to serve the tiramisu as well -- assuming we'd dislike that too and ask for modifications? Honestly, I wish I had taken a picture of the pasta to show how it looked. As a restaurant owner, you should understand that every customer has different taste preferences. And just for clarification -- we never asked for the pasta to be cancelled. In fact, we were even willing to pack it and take it home after paying for it, despite not liking the taste. You were the one who offered to cancel the remaining order, and we simply agreed. I would humbly request whoever is in charge to please check the CCTV footage and see whether we were ever rude while requesting alterations. Throughout the interaction, you only kept speaking from your side and didn't even give my wife a chance to explain. Is that really what good customer service looks like?

The upstairs is a corner view onto a street with dark woods and leather booths, while inside an open kitchen and a low-key young crew is putting out some simple, tasty food. Mostly appetizers, pastas and some pesce and carne dishes. Not a destination, but a good spot and one of the few restaurants on the street open on a Sunday. The downstairs basement hosts a cocktail bar that was closed on the Sunday we visited. We enjoyed the feel of the place, along with a bit of montepulciano d'abruzzo, some olives, a green salad, pork belly and a toothsome risotto with zucchini and prawns. Not a bad meal, priced pretty well, and a nice setting with friendly staff. We had such a good time that we failed to notice the police inspectress inside talking to the Paesan crew. The white and red police tape line both inside and outside the restaurant were in our peripheral view the whole dinner, but once outside, we noticed that a gigantic police triangle of tape took up the entire street corner, a female inspector was stationed there, and that down on the cobblestone sidewalk, a streetful of dessicated lemon and lime wedges lay from the night before, leading us to ponder, what exactly had happened here?

The waitress was helpful and calm and the red wine warm and fruity. I'll come again for definites. There is a cocktail bar in the basement and a choice of some interesting sharing options on the main menu for groups.
