My half eaten lunch

Nice stop for a quick and tasty bite a mere 2 minute walk from my Covent Garden office. I haven't had Franco manco in a while but it did not disappoint. Specials on the chalkboard included veggie options like tomatoes, mozzarella, mushrooms, caramelized red onion and watercress pesto and carnivore options like tomato, mozzarella, salami, ricotta, fresh basil and black pepper but I opted for a classic mozzarella and basil and added prosciutto. My meal cost about £12 and was tasty with franco manco's signature wood fired sour dough crust. There are lots of fresh veggies options as well as meats for just about any preference. Service was quick and friendly. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. I sat inside as it was a slightly chilly day but outside seating is also an option. Ambience was warm and nicely lit and had a nice vibe with low music in the background which wasn't too overpowering and allowed you to still have a conversation with your companions.

Cinque Formaggi pizza

The pizza was absolutely fantastic--perfectly thin crust with fresh, flavorful ingredients. Daniel was an outstanding server, so kind and attentive throughout the meal. I highly recommend trying the Cinque Formaggi--it's a must!

Truly one of my favorite pizzas of all time! They are hands down my favorite pizza chain ever! If you are in London it is a must go! Each of the restraints has a really nice atmosphere and all of the staff is lovely. The pizza is out of this world! It is the best crust I've ever had! You can tell the sauce is fresh and the cheese is amazing! We got a cheese pizza and the veggie special which had mushroom and caramelized onions on it. Both were to good to describe! If you are a pizza lover you have to check it out!

#2 pizza

There were so many of these places around London and it's a great little stop to get some pizza to break up your journey! We had a friend recommend this place for a quick and easy dinner while walking around London. It's not super fancy but it is quick and delicious! We had a short wait, but we just grabbed a pint from next door while we waited. The service was solid and the food came out quickly and was nice and hot. We ordered the #2 which is basically a Margherita Pizza, and the #8 because it sounded fun. Both were solid wood fired pizzas and did the job. The pizzas are pretty good size but we finished them both as we were quite hungry. They had a few specials on the board as well, so be sure to check them out before ordering. They also had a small beer selection to choose from as well. This is a super quick and casual pizza place to get in and out, but also makes sure you don't leave hungry!

Loved this pizza place. Great food. Really good service and ambience. I had an amazing burrata salad and a spicy meat pizza. I was full and happy after. It gets crowded so be aware of wait times, but food comes out quickly. The service is super friendly too.

Great take away!

What's not to like about a very chewy sourdough crust pizza? It's delicious! Fast and friendly service on top of great pizza.

Pizza made fresh with Italian, organic ingredients?! You know it's going to be amazing. The back of the menu had each ingredient listed with a paragraph on where it's sourced from. I've never seen that before and found it to be so impressive. The inside is beautiful and we enjoyed the outdoor patio seating too. The couple next to us was Italian, which is how you know the food is good and true Italian. The street it's on is adorable and has lots of other good spots too. Enjoy!

Sourdough pizza is really really popular in London (they don't do the crispy crust or NY slice). I prefer the neapolitan/traditional pizza, since I feel like the sourdough subdues/distracts from the overall power of the pizza flavor. However, the sourdough is really fresh and soft and lets you enjoy the artisan baking involved.

#2 margarita pizza

I found the pizza to be good! It definitely could use some more basil and olive oil though. The service was a bit slow, that could partially be to us sitting outside but it was quite slow

Sourdough pizza? Sign me up! This neopolitan inspired pie was delectable and I finished every last bite. The tang that naturally leavened dough has makes for one flavorful pie. It had a chewy and light texture. The dough also burns clean meaning that when you eat it, you don't feel bogged down since your body can breakdown fermented dough way easier. The cheese was rich and gooey while the sauce was just the right balance of acidic and savory. The interior is well designed and inviting. I didn't feel rushed and the servers weren't there to put on a show. Just to take my order and get me my food which was appreciated when I was starving. Will be back!

Pizza!

Excellent pizza. The oven cooked thin crust is very good. Very good service also. Right next to Covent Garden.

Margharita pizza and the number 5 with anchovies, capers, olives, light mozzarella.

Oh my gosh -- this was genuinely the worst restaurant experience I've ever had in the UK…read more We politely mentioned that we didn't enjoy one of the pasta dishes and simply requested a small modification. Instead of trying to resolve the issue professionally, the owner became extremely rude and dismissive. Shockingly, he brought us the bill immediately, refused to serve the rest of the items we had already ordered (including the tiramisu), and directly asked us to leave the restaurant. We were calm and respectful throughout the interaction, but he refused to even listen to our side before abruptly ending the conversation with, "I'll get your bill," and telling us to leave. I honestly don't know whether he was irritated because we had an infant with us or because we requested a modification, but the behaviour was completely unacceptable and deeply disappointing. I still can't believe a restaurant in London could treat customers this way. Truly unbelievable service and an experience I would never want anyone else to go through. We initially ordered 3 items. The pizza was absolutely fine, so we never raised any concern about it. However, the pasta simply didn't suit our taste buds, so we politely requested a few alterations. Instead of handling it professionally, you refused to serve the tiramisu as well -- assuming we'd dislike that too and ask for modifications? Honestly, I wish I had taken a picture of the pasta to show how it looked. As a restaurant owner, you should understand that every customer has different taste preferences. And just for clarification -- we never asked for the pasta to be cancelled. In fact, we were even willing to pack it and take it home after paying for it, despite not liking the taste. You were the one who offered to cancel the remaining order, and we simply agreed. I would humbly request whoever is in charge to please check the CCTV footage and see whether we were ever rude while requesting alterations. Throughout the interaction, you only kept speaking from your side and didn't even give my wife a chance to explain. Is that really what good customer service looks like?

The upstairs is a corner view onto a street with dark woods and leather booths, while inside an open kitchen and a low-key young crew is putting out some simple, tasty food. Mostly appetizers, pastas and some pesce and carne dishes. Not a destination, but a good spot and one of the few restaurants on the street open on a Sunday. The downstairs basement hosts a cocktail bar that was closed on the Sunday we visited. We enjoyed the feel of the place, along with a bit of montepulciano d'abruzzo, some olives, a green salad, pork belly and a toothsome risotto with zucchini and prawns. Not a bad meal, priced pretty well, and a nice setting with friendly staff. We had such a good time that we failed to notice the police inspectress inside talking to the Paesan crew. The white and red police tape line both inside and outside the restaurant were in our peripheral view the whole dinner, but once outside, we noticed that a gigantic police triangle of tape took up the entire street corner, a female inspector was stationed there, and that down on the cobblestone sidewalk, a streetful of dessicated lemon and lime wedges lay from the night before, leading us to ponder, what exactly had happened here?

The specials all sounded fantastic but I plumped for dandelion salad and the pumpkin and goats cheese pizza. Utterly yummy! Not excessive portions just packed with flavour. The waitress was helpful and calm and the red wine warm and fruity. I'll come again for definites. There is a cocktail bar in the basement and a choice of some interesting sharing options on the main menu for groups. Prices are very reasonable and if my meal was anything to go by, the rest will be as good. I am well impressed.

The garlic bread came fast and had the appearance of a personal pizza. It is EXTREMELY fresh garlic forward, like it is going to sit with you for hours, the server will absolutely warn you about this but it is damn good. Our food came after we completed our bread and was very good. The Veal Milanese was tender and crunchy. The penne noodles with marinara sauce was a great side to this dish. Not pictured because it was too good, the lobster ravioli looked creamy and decadent. If you want to know how good, my fried ordered two servings.
