Dirt on bathroom walls

I hate it here. Moved here in January. First of all, we were denied a walk through before signing our lease due to covid. Which is strange because I was able to do self guided tours at other places. Yet we couldn't take a self guided walk through? After we finally got in to see the apartment, it was more than clear why we weren't given the chance to see how unprepared the unit was. (Please see plenty of photos I've attached of the state our apartment was in on move in day.) From dirt on the walls, holes all over the place. Dirty carpet, soap in the carpet from a poor job at shampooing carpet that really should have just been replaced, DEAD ANT TRAILS IN THE KITCHEN, and a head full of hair in the bathroom sink, & cant forget the disgusting chemical smell (maybe bug spray) that lingered in the apartment for at least three weeks and triggered my asthma, we just have not had a great stay here. Period. For the amount of money they expect us to pay to rent here, I really expected so much better. Brought all of these issues up to the office, sending the photos over the moment we stepped foot in the apt and saw all of that and were told that they were so sorry and weren't aware of these issues. You weren't aware that our apartment hadn't beeen cleaned, painted, or anything else that's supposed to be done before someone moves in? We weren't offered any type of solution other than that the maintenance may be able to come fix some things but if they can't because of covid (and they're only supposed to fulfill emergency work orders) then we just won't be held accountable when it's time to move. Gee, thanks. The reason I'm even finally deciding to post this review is because I'm on my way to go get my car from the tow company because it was towed after sitting out of the way in the parking lot while I brought down belongings as I gladly move out of this dump. By the way there's little to no free parking if you get home around 8, have fun walking everywhere. It's like a maze just to get around. Very strict about parking, people park in the red zone for hours at a time and I literally was parked there for 20 min and have to pay 390 to get my car back tonight. Also, I wasn't aware of this but if you live next to a big hill like the one behind this complex, with lots of power-lines Edison will shut off power for days at a time during windy days. That's been terrible, and I wish someone would have told me that before I moved in. Save yourself the time headache and discomfort and just pay more for something better. Km

Management is HORRIBLE. Complete disregard for tenant safety and their inappropriate behavior. Called Weidner to complain, instead of calling the complaintant, they opted to call Vesada first and conveyed that the behavior is within reason. So getting an false notice to enter based on abandonment because I won't return your phone call to renew my lease before my lease is due, walking to the apartment bypassing the open window with open view of an individual sitting inside and still posting a notice for abandonment in order to get a phone call, after 4 back to back phone calls because "vesada wants to know if you are renewing your lease". That is within reason here. Tenants don't respect the property, late night partying, standing and messing with other tenants cars, but there's no camera's on the property so no resolution to that, moving into uncleaned apartments, you name it you will get it. Overall, just save yourself the headache and live else where. The price is not worth it.

DONT MOVE HERE. Your car gets broken into CONSTANTLY. They tow your car for being parked 30 minutes barely after the time. The office managers excuse was "well you know our building is 13yrs old". Believe me it shows, but you would think taking almost 2000 from every renter you could AT THE VERY LEAST afford a better camera set up.

Reallly REALLY love this complex Monique is amazing! Love how others can't just park anywhere. Anytime there is a issue or I can't figure something out, I can file a report through app to maintenance and he comes over. Over all happy with our decision to move here, we're three months in & couldn't be more happier & on the positive note! The office throws tacos party's for the residents. Extremely happy to be apart of the Vesadas !!

So i come home today and my kitchen smells like gas. I immediately called the office to notify them after many calls, no response... i left a couple of messages and no return call. After waiting a couple of hrs, i asked my husband to ealk to the iffice. Since, Last time i called them it took over 3 days for a call back and i felt this was an emergency and i cant cook to feed my 3 yr old. On his way there he ran into the maintenance people. There response was to call the gas company. They didn't even come and check out the apartment to see what was going on. This place is a disappointment after the other. .. Update, the gas Company came 2 check the gas leak And they said that there is a gas leak! The gas was shot off and the stove was tagged with a danger sign. Turns out that this is a defective stove

I had a wonderful experciece at Vesada when I lived here previously. Apartment layout was spacious. Located in a safe gated community.

It's a bit bizarre to see folks bash this place for things that they know exist before even signing on. We were made well aware of the train before we even finished the tour and we were on board knowing full well there would be noise. The staff make every attempt to help residents when things arise. I had an issue with a homeless person poking around my apartment and Lena helped me sort it out asap. Jose has been the most helpful and handy person on the planet. He's even come after hours to help me sort out some things in my apartment. I love using the amenities and the property is well maintained. It's a great location to live as well with good access to downtown! I have noticed stray cats in the past, but they don't cause any issues. They look like they've been fixed by the looks of their ears since they've been tipped. They are not disease ridden that's just a harmful misconception. This street seems to be home to strays as they live down the street from what I seen. Them stopping by is inevitable, but they are not pests as others have seemingly implied. If you leave them be they will roam away as they roamed in. If you take reviews at face value then it can be easy to get carried away. The overwhelming regard for the lofts speaks for itself. Current resident - I have been living at Casa Sierra for 1 year and 9 months now. (I moved in…read moreAugust 2024) My lease ends May and I can't wait to move out!!!! I've had issues since I have moved in. Closet sliding doors are very sensitive and constantly needing to be put in place. The balcony's screen door always falls off when I move it. The apartment is outdated. There is a wall heater in the Livingroom that I never turned on because I'm afraid to catch the place on fire. The wall AC needs to be on all day in order to cool the entire apartment. All the doors get stuck because fresh paint is being painted over old paint. We constantly have to pull on the doors to open and shut them- it shakes the whole building. No upgrades have been done since I have lived there. Homeless people go through the garbage bins throughout the day. They know when the office goes to lunch and when they close for the day to enter the apartments. I have gotten my car broken into, luckily, I didn't have anything worth stealing, but they did take my phone chargers. Right now, what I am dealing with is homeless breaking into the small storage in my car portal and stealing things I leave in that area. They've came 3 times in less than 2 weeks to go through my things and leave the mess for me to clean. I made police report but apparently no one can do anything. Sadly, after speaking to other residents, they have also dealt with homeless stealing their belongings from their storage. The break-ins are happening during the day. (Management is aware of all this.) They hired a security guard a couple months ago (hes only here at night). I have seen him walking around a couple of times and it's not the same person all the time. ( I tend to wash my clothes at night, so I see the person.) There are 8 washers and 8 dyers, not enough for everyone who lives there. The washers and dryers are very small. My family of 4 can use up to 5 washers. I wash weekly.$$ Washers are $2.25 and dryers are $2.50 - most of the time there is a washer or a dyer out of service. Don't get fooled by the landscape!! It looks nice and beautiful but with all these issues it's not worth it. You can find somewhere else for a reasonable price with better amenities. I know a lot of residents are moving out because of all these issues. I paid $2,125 not including water or trash in 2024 (can't remember how much water or trash I paid at that time) for a 2 bedroom and 2 bath. I renewed my lease only because I wasn't in the best situation to move out. My rent went up in 2025 - to $2,253 + $6 pest control + $35 water + $30 trash = $2,334. I received my renewal letter and if I sign for another year the price would be $2,366 + $6pest control + $35 water + $30 trash I would be paying $2,437 - These apartments are not worth that.. for $50 more I can live at the Corona pointe resort apartment and enjoy their amenities for a 2 bedroom 1 bath.

We have been residents at the groves for a few years. Every community has  good things and bad…read morethings. I want to focus on the community environment and how the manager team has treated us. Maintenance guy is professional and respectful when he enters my apartment to fix things, which I appreciate because I dislike nosey people. If he can't fix something he will let the manager know and she will schedule someone as soon as they are available. He keeps the community clean. He usually sweeps all the leaves on a windy day. The manager is one of a kind manager. Her focus is on getting the job done and on time. She is respectful and at the same time consistant. I really appreciate her because she will go the extra mile for you and is very fair. Some managers take advantage of their authority, but she seems to be very reasonable and fair.even to those neighbors that break the parking rules and are getting towed. I usually see her walking up and down the apartments. She is definitely not a ghost manager.haha  It feels good to have a manager that cares. Some of the neighbors keep to themself, but I appreciate that most of the neighbors are respectful. And I really enjoy the holiday spirit everyone has in this small community!

The staff tried to steal parts of my security deposit. They will charge you $10-$50 extra for cleaning fees on what they say you're charged in hopes you don't look at the receipt from the vendor they used. I caught them doing this 4 times and they never explained why they did that or apologized. The staff is beyond rude, lazy, and will ignore any request you have. Our car almost got stolen from here. There's break ins weekly. Glass from car windows get shattered and they never come and clean it up. And the apartments have a bug problem. Avoid this place at all costs.

The only issue I had was during the transition of the community app to schedule for maintenance or pay for rent, the new portal had to confirm my bank account and it took a few days for it to verify. On the posting by Afton, it says because of the transition, residents have ten days to pay the rent for the upcoming month. I paid my rent on the 5th which was before the month and they still charged me a late fee! Luckily, after back and forth emailing, the manager was able to waive the late fee which required signatures. So far, Afton has done a lot of positive changes such as fix some of the broken and cracked sidewalks that were not level and a hazard to navigate around. The maintenance crew is great! They are quick to respond to most issues unless it's like a water heater issue which obviously is not a quick job to do.
