I was selling my 2017 Porsche 718S and the buyer from Atlanta wanted to do a PPI before coming doing to pick up so he found this place base on good comments at Porsche forums. I came on the day and time scheduled, was greeted by Wayne, he asked me a few questions and gave me a form to sign. Then he dropped me off at a near by restauran so I could have lunch during the inspection time. It took about 4 hours so by the time he finished I was at The Collection, when he called to let me know it was almost done I asked him if he could pick me up since it was raining, he said yes! So the process was long but he made it very convenient and the buyer liked everything he had to said about the car so the deal was made and everybody is happy! read more

If you hold onto my car for more than 5 days, you should reach out & tell me what's up. If the customer follows up after 7 days & you say you've been busy, don't tell them the same thing when they follow up after another week. I mean... they had my car for 14 days. Having my patience abused is bad business. Especially with a customer that has used you for multiple times over 2 years. read more

Wayne and the team swapped out my 2006 997 3.8L engine with a spun main bearing for a rebuilt Vertex engine. My engine damage cost me half of the core charge adding 3k to the job. Excellent communication and visual evidence of the problem. Round trip shipping was about $1500 from Dallas to Miami and back, but still substantially less than anyone would do it for locally. After install, the techs drove about 200 miles to begin a proper breakin before sending her home. If you're getting an engine, might as well send the car. About 5 weeks total, but could have been longer if I wanted to rebuild my original engine. We did a full brake job too, rotors, pads and sensors. I asked to change the cabin air filter and fix the slow return drivers seat belt retractor, neither of which happened. They gave very specific instructions on oil changes and operating ranges for the next 2,000 miles and I'm following those guidelines. Just seems to get smoother all the time. I own a 1982 Porsche 911sc with 287,000 miles. I take great pride in my 38 year old classic Porsche. A good friend recommended Vertex Automotive in Florida. I live in Virginia and had never heard of Vertex but I am so pleased with their uber professional Service Parts department. I spoke with Sid in the Parts department and he agreed to rebuild my original (no longer produced) 1982 French Bosch Warm Up Regulator (WUR). The Bosch WUR controls the Porsche restart cycles and is critical to smooth operation. You can see by the pics that my WUR was in bad shape. The rebuild WUR is stunning and has completely new internal parts. Vertex even supplied a few extra parts. The whole job was very reasonable priced and I truly appreciate efforts. These guys have been an absolute godsend helping me the last few weeks. I purchased a 2003 911 c4 cabriolet that was in very good condition but needed a few tweaks to make it road ready for a 3 week road trip with my wife from here in Miami out to SantaFe and back. Wayne was extremely professional and understanding of my need to fix what needed to be fixed, identify what could wait and propose fixing what would be cost effective based on the fact that he already had the areas exposed and I could save on labor. All in all, extremely helpful and reasonable as far as putting a Porsche into tiptop shape. I took my car there for an inspection after I purchased it. They were very friendly but there was zero follow up. Either they have too much work or were not interested in my work which would have been several thousand dollars. I took my Porsche to another shop who gladly gave me the attention I needed. Had a pre purchase inspection done for a Porsche 911. I think they were in on it with the seller. Car arrived to my door 2000 miles away with many obvious issues that were not disclosed. I was told spoiler worked, it did not. Heat worked, it does not. Rear wiper works, it does not. Even has bulbs out. My local jiffy lube would do a better job. Please stay away! read more

I would like to share my recent experience with Vertex Auto of Miami, Florida. The name of my business is Reid Vann Import Service and I have been in business servicing European automobiles for over forty years with the emphasis on Porsches. I purchased a rebuilt 996 Porsche transmission carrying a one year warranty from Vertex Auto 7/27/2015. The transmission was installed and the customer picked up the car on 8/7/2015. March 25,2016 the customer brought the car in for regular maintenance and he stated that the transmission had started jumping out of 2nd gear. We contacted Vertex and they stated that they did not have a replacement ready at that time but would have one soon. We returned the car to the customer to use until they could get a replacement. After repeated calls to Vertex, we were told in May, 2016 to remove the transmission and they would send the replacement. It was 2 weeks before the transmission was picked up. Another two weeks passed and we hadn't received the replacement transmission so we called to find out why we hadn't received the transmission and they claimed we hadn't returned the defective unit. When we pointed out that they had arranged the pick up of the transmission, they agreed to look for it. Another week passed before they claimed to have found the transmission. They stated that they would get the replacement transmission on the way. Two weeks later we hadn't received the transmission so we contacted them again and were told that they would not warrant the transmission because it had been raced and abused. My shop manager relayed this information to me, I called and asked to speak to George, the man my shop manager had spoken with. He was never available to talk to. After 4 or 5 attempts, the lady answering suggested that I should talk to the man in charge of the transmission shop. When I spoke with the shop manager he insisted that I not interrupt him while he ranted about how my customer had abused the transmission by racing the car. When he finished, I began explaining to him that the customer was an older man who did not abuse or race the car and that the only reason the original transmission was replaced was that the pinion bearing was noisy. At this time he became abusive and accused me of trying to commit a fraud, threatened me with legal action and slammed the phone down. I had my shop manager call and request that the transmission be returned to us so that we could use it as a core to contact another company about a rebuilt transmission. They assured us that it would be returned immediately. When it hadn't been returned after a week, I ordered a replacement transmission in order to get my customer's car back on the road. We repeatedly tried to call Vertex to determine when we might get the core. Vertex would not answer the phone. After 2 weeks of this, we decided that they were reading our phone number and ignoring our calls. My shop manager then called on his personal phone and the phone was immediately answered. He asked about our core and was told that the transmission would be sent within the next week because it needed to be reassembled and as they were busy with other customers, they hadn't had the time to put it back together. About 2 weeks later we did receive the core transmission. My company has been a good customer of Vertex so I find it particularly vexing that they would refuse to honor their warranty and their rudeness and threats when I attempted to discuss the matter with them. read more
