I've been here twice for two different events and haven't been disappointed yet! I've heard that it gets overcrowded, but I guess trance events aren't as bad? Even though the venue is small, we got in very quickly and had plenty of room to roam around and dance. There's even a walkway that leads straight to the bathroom to avoid bumping into the crowd! Both times the crowd was friendly and almost everyone knew each other--or got to know each other because everyone was just that nice :) Bouncers and employees were also very friendly, and they serve my favorite Ciroc--what more do you need? The only con I can really think of is that there isn't much in terms of visuals--in fact, there's practically nothing so you're really going there for the music/DJ and nothing else. Attended as a plus one to a holiday party here this year and was very pleased with this venue. It was large and was able to handle hundreds of people who attended with absolutely no issues. They had several workers walking around confirming things were running smoothly and checking with everyone. Bartenders were very friendly as well. They also have 2 bar options as well as a second story for more seating. Upstairs got a little warm but that's as expected as the venue got more crowded. Overall this place did a great job with our overall experience and I'd happily reserve here again for future events! read more

Came here for a friend's birthday, and was suuper confused if I was at the right spot since they didn't have a sign. TO MAKE YOUR LIFE EASIER, AND NOT THINK YOUR UBER DRIVER IS DROPPING YOU OFF AT A RANDOM LOCATION LIKE I DID, LOOK FOR THE FORGERY SIGN. Verso is to the right of it. We reserved the whole entire upstairs, which made the experience a 4 star. The crowd is mostly people in their late 20's to early 30's. Good variety of hip-hop, throwbacks, edm, and top 40s. I may be biased since liquid courage was involved, and we had the whole upstairs, but while reading the other reviews, I do agree that if you don't have bottle service it could get a little awkward. People aren't as intimate or should I say ratchet here. I would only come here for a company or birthday party. read more

Jukely said the event would start at 9, so I got there at 9..that was way too early, so I was hanging out at Forgery, the bar next door, for an hour. Their events start at 10PM. This club is owned by former mayor of SF, current Lt. Governor, and Cali Governor hopeful GAVIN NEWSOM!! I know he is a businessman. Unfortunately, I hear and see that this is not very successful right now. It's a smaller club. It's lit well. They have a lot of reserved seating for drinking and a full bar. I was there from 10-10:30 on Thanksgiving weekend. There were 5 other people and a bunch of people working there. I bet more people came later. I wasn't digging the DJ, so I left. I'd give it a try again. They should have built a stage, so that they had the option to stage some rock bands or singers. That would be more appealing than second-rate electronic music. read more

Horrible experience all around. I've never been to a place so dead in my life. Thank god I didn't have to pay for cover. I would have been so angry. To top it off, it was insanely hard to find. I used to love Sloane, so when I heard a new club re opened in the old Sloane - I was super excited! Verso is a little nicer and cleaner version of Sloane, but with different music and crowd! It is right near the Forgery and you have to go inside a doorway to get to the actual front, but you will end up finding it! When it comes to drinks and music, the drinks are a little pricy and Vegas priced. I can't believe I spent 12 dollars a shot! I would suggest getting their mixed drinks for the same price. The music is very eclectic and would be great for big crowds, but then again, there isn't a lot of people that come here. Since it is still fairly new, the venue is kind of empty and filled with startup/business people. The music and performers show so much potential, but the crowd is a hit or miss. The interior and set up of the overall place has so so so much potential, but think they need better marketing. I would suggest doing guest list than paying for this place! I feel like it will become bigger and better over the next few months, but for now, I advise pre gaming hard and going with a big group of friends if you just want a nice venue to party in! read more

Stars entirely dependent on who's spinning. But the venue holds its own. No real difference from Sloane. And there was nothing wrong with Sloane. They definitely pull the LA-"we're gonna stack the line to draw in people and give off the guise of popularity" move outside but it moves quickly. Definitely DEFINITELY pre-game on 11th if you plan to order at the bar. A) lower tier Vegas prices and B) huge melee (3-4 deep by 11pm). Also, SPECIFY YOUR MIXER. They will default to call over well. As soon as I walked in I felt like I've been here before. I want to say this was a previous club with another name but I can be wrong, so don't quote me. Anywho this venue is spacious! There's only one bar though so waiting for a drink can be overbearing if you are not patient. There's an upstairs and downstairs with the seating areas primarily used for VIP so don't expect a seat if you do not have a table. But all the action in on the dance floor anyway so who really sits down??? I was here for a special even which took place on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed. No drama, no extra weirdness from security and parking wasn't that bad. Easily located off the freeway. read more

We've had our company holiday here for the past two years and although the venue itself is nice, the bartenders are extremely rude and make it known they don't want to be there. Here's a tip: if you don't like your job, quit and work somewhere else. Management: you need to hire some better staff. My friend and I came to Verso over Super Bowl weekend since Marquee LV was hosting parties there all weekend. Being a huge fan of Marquee in Las Vegas, I had some expectations as to what Verso would be like, especially since it's a newer club in the city. While it's a nice venue and shares the space with Forgery next door, I was a little confused by the overall ambiance; Forgery seemed much more casual than what Verso was going for. The bartenders and overall service at Verso was 5 STARS but the drinks were beyond expensive; two vodka sodas ran me almost $30 without tip...I'm confused - are we in Vegas?! I will say that they bring in top DJs, as Tiesto was there the night before and we saw Vice the night my friend and I went. I don't really go clubbing in the city as the clubs here just don't live up to what I've experienced in Vegas or even in Europe, but even if I did, I'm not sure if I would come back to Verso again. read more

LOLOLOL WAT IS THIS PLACE? My friends and I are still confused. It seems to be half function area, half wanna be club. My friends and I rolled up with tickets to see the Lost Kings and were excited to dance and chill when our uber pulled up in front of 'The Forgery'.... VERSO and The Forgery are apparently one and the same. Our hearts dropped. What was this fancy place filled with thirty-somethings in formal attire? Surely not the club we bought tickets to! Alas it was! In love with the Lost Kings and for the pursuit of a good Saturday night we entered unfazed, but it only got weirder.. Inside everyone was far apart from one another and it was a weird mix of bearded-millennial plaid-wearing late-twentysomething tech worker men in groups and then fancy girls in dresses dancing with themselves. As for the DJs, they were there - and great, but no one was even facing toward them. ....Maybe we just need to drink a bit we thought. So we headed for the bar. Easy to order, we figured shots were the most efficient way to cure our feelings of awkwardness. Three tequilas please. "That'll be $33" ALKDJFALKJFLKALSJ.. Needless to say it wasn't even fancy tequila, it was suuuuper weird. The cocktail specials were $8, so how do shots cost more? I don't know. But they did. Total bananas. We headed back out to the dance floor determined to make the best of our tickets and now shot-charge, but it was a losing battle. The weirdness only got weirder. It really felt like a squad of Facebook interns had accidentally crashed a very formal wedding party. We kept thinking it would get better, but it never did. After about an hour we gave up and headed home. 1 star because the DJ set was on fleek, but take away all the stars because this place is more confused than a liberal arts grad living at home again wondering whether studying sociology was a good idea. Stopped by this past weekend with some friends and I was quite impressed. Situated right next door to Forgery and owned by the same group, Verso is very unassuming. From the street it just a big black recessed entryway with blue lighting. I actually had Eventbrite tickets so I'm not sure what the standard process is for getting in but they just quickly checked our tickets and coat check is free! What a win! They would probably benefit from separating out the cashier window from the coat check window to be more efficient though. The venue itself has exactly that converted warehouse feel. It's not pretentious but the design feels very deliberate. There's exposed brick and steel beams everywhere you look, giving it a clean industrial look. You can have table service on the main floor or in the balcony above. The footprint of Verso is actually quite small, though it wasn't particularly crowded so that wasn't much of an issue. I thought it would be difficult to get drinks since there's only one bar, but it ended up not being a problem. The bar itself is also more similar to a cocktail lounge than your typical night club, which is a nice touch. Overall, the experience at Verso was really great. Even the bouncers were really considerate! I would suggest grabbing drinks next door before coming in though because for the same price, you can get much more than your typical well drinks. read more

We went to Verso for a Metrowize event, so how much this is due to Verso and how much is due to MW (the event organizer) is TBD. That being said--it was my first time there with a bunch of friends and it was a a huge bait & switch. Consider-- 1. You could RSVP for free entry on Eventbrite, for up to 2 people. The Eventbrite page said that super discounted craft cocktails would be served throughout the night. Keep this in mind as you read below... 2. We get there around 11:15-11:30. They tell us that they can only honor one of the free entries--the other is $15. Since we'd only gotten half of the group to RSVP, we had to pay a substantial amount to get in. 3. If "discounted craft cocktails" sounded unlimited, try again. We get 2 vouchers for each free RSVP ($15 cover doesn't get those). Keep in mind, it's 11:15-11:30. 4. We go in and head straight to the bar. Upon trying to use our vouchers, we learn that they are no longer valid as of 11:00. What?? the cashier gave them to us 5min ago! Had we known that, we obviously would have not gotten half of the group to purchase tickets to go in. I do think that the cashier did it on purpose so that we would buy our tickets instead of turning away wholesale (we had a large group). The experience inside the club was so mediocre that we ended up leaving after 30min and a completely undiscounted $13 vodka red bull. Overall, it was a terrible experience and we really felt like we'd been thoroughly duped. We will be avoiding either MetroWize or Verso moving forward. First impressions matter, Verso... read more

Cool new venue in town!! They have bottle service upstairs and down stairs. Nice and clean. It's not as big as temple but I hope this place becomes super popular. Only one bar, but the place isn't super packed yet so ordering drinks doesn't take long. We saw lost kings. Really good!! read more

Awesome venue (this club was formerly known as Sloane). Went here for my company's corporate party and thought it was great. Very spacious and modern. The setup was awesome with great dance space and optimal options for bottle service. Came here for a Weiss house event and had a blast. If you're trying to turn up and go to a club with a ratchet crowd, this place is not for you. The crowd was more one the young professional side which was super refreshing. I liked that it wasn't a packed house and there was actually space to dance. Also, from my experience the event staff is super helpful. I wanted access to a couple photos that their photographer took that I was in and they have been nothing but nice about everything. read more

The line was ridiculous, the cover was standard (20), and the space was pretty cool. However the music was just awful. Its trance/techno, but I couldn't really dance to it and it felt like I was listening to the same song for 45 minutes. Don't get me wrong, i love electronic musis, raves, bla bla bla, but I would prefer if my songs had words. That way I can embarrassingly sing along to it and dance my heart out, rather than awkwardly bob up and down while talking about how awful the music is. We had a big group of friends which made it fun in its own, This place I believe has amazing potential to be an awesome club, just some minor tweeks here at there and it's gucci This is a place that I would love to come to more often if the music was changed since I think the location and space itself is pretty good. read more

Great venue. I produced a product launch for one of my clients last week, and was very pleased with the venue, their staff and on-site capabilities. I worked closely with Verso's event management team Ashley and Lauren on the project, and they were a pleasure to work with. They were both very helpful in accommodating multiple site visits, custom drink menu's and catering to last minute requests coming in from the client. At the end of the day, my client was very happy with the venue and the project which is always music to my ears. Verso is the new trendy spot for high energy, trance, and some nights for good techno music. If you're looking for a spot to hear your typical top 40s and mainstream music, I highly suggest to look elsewhere. While Verso is still new to the scene, this place was once called Sloane. Cube-like box once you walk through the hallway and enter into the dance floor. They have table service above, upstairs and also to the side. There's only one bar area, so if you can't wait for a drink, walk next door to their sister location, the forgery for good cocktails. Besides the small space, I love the lighting and intimacy of it. Music is always on point, crowd is chill yet you get a good mix of people, they have coat check, laid back attire on EDM nights, and nice bathrooms, before it gets grotesque later into the evening. Nonetheless, one of my favorite spots in the city right now. Upside, parking is visibly great! If you come early enough. Would I come back? Yes! read more

Really fun atmosphere and great venue to watch some awesome DJs. Located on the border of Downtown SF, this spot is definitely a must when you see that someone you enjoy listening to will be making an appearance here. The space is roomy enough to get your dance on. There's one bar, but it is always super efficient. The soundsystem is great and the restrooms are pretty clean. We finally got in here last night. This club is fairly new with architecture that vaguely reminds me of Ruby skky. They have a large very well stocked bar, drinks that are not just the usual suspects, and a clean , classy look not typical for what I normally see. Can't wait to see this place take off. read more

Verso is really elegant. Not to mention, honest and geared toward guest experience. I photographed an event there and accidentally left my jacket at coat check. They secured it and returned it with efficiency and I'm just impressed with the venue for their professionalism and responsiveness. Okay, so lots of dancing room (roughly Ruby Skye's main floor available), good EDM/sound, A/C is good just to the right of the stage. However, the people are hit-and-miss, as it typically attracts a younger crowd that is more concerned with the usual club/bar behavior. It's better on Thursdays for the musical aspects. read more

The music here is horrible. Ppl stand around bobbing their heads....it's some type of punk rock music... Horrible with capital H. The bartenders are rude and take forever to serve you even when half the club is empty. The only good thing is that they have a couple of chairs for you to sit down on. This places was cracking when it was SLOANE!!! Verso is horrible and it's the music that makes it horrible. I won't be coming. I typically don't go to clubs in the city but I had a few friends that heard about this place and wanted to check it out. It's a little hard to find at first but just tell them you're going to Forgery and you will be fine. I absolutely loved this place with the best service, perfect mix of 20 to 30 somethings looking to have a good time and to top it off had a great DJ playing. I also love the fact that you can be at a club one second then walk next door to a bar if you want something a little more chill. Since I've been I've noticed that they have been booking some great talent and am bummed I couldn't make it to see Four Color Zack! Highly recommend checking this place out! read more

We went to this club on Saturday night, the weekend before Halloween. The music was great for dancing, and the bartenders were very attentive. I was pleased with the pricing with only a $10 cover and $10 drinks, a steal for the city! The dance floor is a nice size and the security was all very friendly. The bartenders and staff are friendly but the atmosphere sucks too many dudes standing on the side like a middle school dance and not packed enough.
