Food was very good and items were very fresh. We didn't take a picture but tried the bacalao and Jamon croquettes, the chicken and beef empanadas, and the cheese and beef pastries. The dough for the empanadas was amazing!!! Thick, flavorful, and flaky. The chicken filling was good, large chunks of chicken. I really liked the beef more though as it seemed to be more like a picadillo filling and I loved the olives! The meat pastry was somewhat bland, but the bottom of the flaky pastry was surprisingly sweet which was interesting. The croquettes were both good, very soft insides and crispy outside; but they didn't have much of the specified flavors (more just the smooth potatoes). The cheese pastry also had a somewhat bland filling. The actual pastry and dough of everything we tried was great though! Cooked perfectly! Be warned, there is a line whether you go to the restaurant or the bakery, so if you're in a rush, consider giving yourself extra time or ordering ahead. The staff does speak both english and spanish and the cuban coffee takes a few minutes but is great! The staff was having fun and joking and laughing with each other when we went which was nice to see! There are so many items to try! I can't wait to try the media noche! Even if the food is good, that bad customer service leaves you with a nasty mouth taste. Place is managed by four ladies which have a tremendous lack of SERVICE! I've been to many Cuban places, never been treated as today. Lady takes an order by MEMORY??!! We told her to take some notes and she refused saying it's all on my head...... At the end, the lady literally asked my daughter to figure out the tabs because she couldn't keep track of the order herself. It took 3 times for her to get the order right and even then she left things out of our order and she was bothered when we asked for the things she had forgotten. She kept rolling her eyes each time we asked for more things. Ladies kept talking about us right in front of us too... Other ladies were RUDE VERY RUDE, like I'm a paying customer....cmon. p.s when they finally figured out the total and had us pay, they proceeded to help everyone else in line before completing our order. So when my friends and I were told we would have a 30 minute wait for the restaurant, we decided to kill some time and calm our hungry stomachs by grabbing some pastries from the bakery! Lots of people in line, but they move quickly and the pricing is great. We tried all the Croquetas, a Guayaba and Queso Pastelito, and the mini key lime pies. The Croquetas were well-made, but I personally prefer Spanish croquettes more. These have a soft filling which reminded me of fish sticks, particularly the fish flavored one. The pastelito was good! Very sweet, but nice pastry dough. Not something I would get normally but glad I tried it. Mini key lime pies were also solid. I've heard about this bakery (& the restaurant) from friends and Uber drivers about this place! Visiting from out of town, this was the place to eat for great Cuban cuisine while here in Miami. Came here for breakfast and the bakery was already packed with people. There were so many assortments of desserts, pastries, empanadas, etc. It was amazing! I love the ladies who work behind the counter because they are so efficient and make it easy. Pick a ticker number, get called your number order, stand to pay and then go. That is it - Simple. Kudos for these ladies and staff for running the restaurant! I got the Beef Empanada and Cafe con Leche. The Beef Empanada was amazing with great flavoring. Crispy and fresh. Cafe con Leche was also good and soothing to drink with my empanada. A real deal hidden treasure; passed this spot while cruising around with the top down & saw a steady crowd jamming into this bakery & restaurant just knew we had to check this place out .... We ate on the bakery side, get a number and wait patiently because there is only one speed here .... Well worth the wait, the counter girls are very sweet & friendly .... Finally made the trip to come to Versailles *praying hand emoji* Not being from Miami, I can't give the "official" review as this is the first time I've ever had a croqueta...but I can surely say I enjoyed this little bundle of fried goodness. It's something that I couldn't put down, and made me want to grab another. I do wish I was able to get them fresh fresh, as these were just warm. What really got me, was the pastelitos de guyaba y queso...take my money all day for these. Thank god I didn't grow up eating these or I'd probably be in a good coma. I rarely get pastries, that's my wife's thing. But they all looked so good I had to pick one. I chose their "Senorita Dulce Leche" and It was phenomenal. The older ladies are all very sweet and attentive. I also ordered their cafe con leche and a media noche Cuban sandwich. Both were phenomenal. The media noche had fresh pork, ham and cheese with mustard packed in a very soft sweet bread similar to a Hawaiian roll. I will make it an effort to visit this bakery every time I'm in town. Be aware that lots of pastries sell out though, so you'll see a lot of empty trays towards closing time. This bakery by far is the best bakery I've ever been to in the United States! Immediately walking into this place feels like I've stepped out into another county. The value of baked goods is very well made, the service was on point; in spite of the busy-ness, and everyone behind the counter barely speaks English. There are rows upon rows of quality makes goods and I'm sure they make it all there! I mainly came in the dome Cortadito and a Cuban sandwich but we ended buying more, probably about a dozen more of so many items. You'll definitely need to visit yourself if you're in Miami. Several Spanish locals love this place too! It's been round for a long time and the bakery has managed to keep up with the traditions! They make every Spanish pastry or dessert you could think of. I drove far to get myself a good Cuban sandwich. When I looked up best sandwich. This place popped up. It was good but not my best. As you can see from the picture. It did not have much roasted pork or pickles. It had one thin slice of roasted pork and one pickle. It did have plenty of ham. I can get ham at the store. They where both exelent and a good crunch and flavor. The fish ball where a good consistancy and good too. This is a nice bakery make sure you take a number as you first walk in. It gets pretty busy and so people hang in front of the counter waiting for there number to be called. This makes it challenging to see the selection available in the counter. You literally have to excuses your way around. I noticed other people sit and wait for there number to be called so there is no place to eat inside. This looks like a nice bakery with a nice helping staff however it does not have a good flow for the people that want to see and pick different things. I would have personally have purchased more pastries but I really didn't like having to excuses and move people around me while pointing to the counter lady what I wanted. Hands down the best Cuban bakery around. Their guava pastelitos are extra fresh and flaky, I actually get all my pastries from here. I like to get there early in the mornings. Lines can be pretty long. Cafe con leche is also pretty good, I'd stick with the smaller size as the larger is the same amount of coffee. I prefer getting the baked empanadas, so I don't feel as guilty lol I have tried a few desserts here. The cookies and puff pastries have been really good. I did order a few slices of cake, most were good but some were stale. Really look at the slices of cake before you purchase, and taste it in house so you can tell them to replace it if its bad. I knew I was getting a dozen pastelitos of the sweet variety based on Yelper reviews. Pastry is the one time that it's good to be flaky! They had 3 flavors today - guava - the best, guava and cream cheese, and coconut. No pineapple today sadly. I had already eaten breakfast at the Versailles restaurant so these would be making their way back to Jacksonville. I brought some to work the next day for some fellow Yelpers and they were pretty excited. The only bad part of this visit was that my timing was a little off. On this particular Sunday, we waited over 30 minutes to have our number called. And listen up, the ladies only say the number once and move on to the next number. So if you are short like me, remember to stay up front and alert. Yes, the menu and attendants are bilingual but not fluent English speakers. So be patient and kind. Mostly tourist bother to deal with this crazy bakery and if you are looking for Cuban bread you might as well go somewhere else. They sell out by early morning so no need to make the line. There are about 4 sandwich options, but if you really want food go to the restaurant where you can have all sorts of Cuban food at reasonable prices. The bakery is just that, a bakery to pick up and snack. I highly recommend the croquettes, in either ham or chicken (jamon o pollo) or the papa rellena, potatoe stuffed with ground meat. The king here is the guava pastery, pastellito de guava, fresh and warm. I can't seem to make it home without having one on the road. They are also well known for their Cuban cookies and desserts, like flan or rice pudding. Don't forget to order the espresso, cortadito, or cafe con leche. All made to order. Yes, they also have fresh pressed orange juice. Parking can be a challenge even though they have tons of parking, it's always jammed. I compare this place to Porto's in Los Angeles. I think I like the Cubano sandwich at Porto's a lot more. The bread at Versailles tasted too much like a stale banh mi sandwich. It was really rough. Could be because I got it to go but I don't think that's an excuse. I've taken Earl of Sandwich to go and it still is soft. The Empenadas and the croquettes though Versailles Bakery wins hands down. Porto's is super oily and the one at Versailles is very light and tasty. The flan was equally the same taste.
