Hidden gem! Typical Latin bakery but with such a cute dinning area. So many yummy options from pastelitos and sandwichechito to coffee and partillos. We ordered the big breakfast which wasn't my favorite to be honest but I didn't know it was not scrambled. If I would have asked for scrambled, I probably would have enjoyed it more. We also order croquettes (because I just have to have them and they were perfect!) if you follow me, you know I'm a croqueta fanatic.. they also serve sandwiches, juices, they have fresh loads of Cuban bread, pastelitos, deserts, cakes, coffee, you name it! Rico Bakery & Cafe is a hidden gem in Little Havana!! It's a small shop with really friendly staff and everyday that I went to visit during my recent vacation it was always full of locals. Once I had my first pastry and coffee here, I completely understood why. I ordered a breakfast from UberEats. BEWARE: they wrap their hot cuban toast on WAX paper NOT parchment paper, therefore the toast had to be thrown away since it had melted wax on it. Who does that in a restaurant? If this is the food prep knowledge they have I wonder if the rest of their food is safe. Ordered eggs over medium and they came our over well. Let me share the definition in case they will read this: Sunny side up: The egg is fried with the yolk up and is not flipped. Over easy: The egg is flipped and the yolk is still runny. Over medium: The egg is flipped and the yolk is only slightly runny. Over well: The egg is flipped and the yolk is cooked hard. Truly this restaurant needs some industry training. read more

Whoops, I forgot to get my check-in discount. Maybe next time? I ordered empanandas for a church function. Six of the regular (fried, not baked) and six of the Colombian corn empanadas. Well, I can't tell you how they tasted because I did not get to eat a single one! By the time I joined the Fellowship, they were all eaten. And we had cut them in half to share. So I can only assume they were good. My only complaint is that they did not offer that fabulous pico de gallo that normally accompanies the Colombian empanadas. read more

The best place for tasty, cheap, quality pastries! As someone visiting Miami and wanting to try as much food as I can in the short time, I couldn't help but keep coming back here. The ham and cheese empanada is unrivalled. I also had the guava/cheese pastry, cheese twist, etc. and all of them were fresh, warm and delicious. The cortadito was strong, sweet, flavorful. I was shocked at the prices and ask them to double check whether they charged me for all the pastries because the price for each was 50cents! Very courteous and helpful staff but they barely speak any English, so come equipped with Google translate :) worst case, just point to all of the things and say "por favor". read more

I don't speak Spanish but still felt welcomed and was able to order coffee, croquettes and empanadas easily. This place is bustling and typical Cuban bakery serving different breads, pastries and even cakes that you can order. They have an outside ordering window so you won't even have to go inside. Rico is a small bakery with friendly staff and good coffee. I feel is a bit expensive in comparison with other local bakeries. A round rum cake costs $25. The decorations on the cake can be very feminine with flowers and pastel colors so not suitable for a male. The cake was very sweet and it had lots of frosting. My go to bakery whenever I'm in town in Miami. I was first introduced to Rico Bakery around 2010 and having been back to Miami in 2019 and 2021, I'm glad to see the place continue to thrive. Their pasteles are so simple but so perfect with their flakey crusts and sweet guava filling. I also adore that they have cornmeal empanadas since those are my fave. On this latest occasion my friend and I shared a cheese and a chicken cornmeal empanada. I honestly could have eaten several of those myself if it wasn't for my friend talking sense into me to save room for our dinner. The cheese was good but the chicken cornmeal empanada was def my fave between that irresistible crunch and the flavorful chicken filling. I wished I knew how to make those since it makes me so nostalgic for when my high school bestie's mom used to make em for us, but that would get dangerous. In the meantime I'm very thankful for the times I get to have these yummy empanadas. And guessing from the huge delivery orders that kept coming outta the kitchen, seems like I am far from the only one. I look forward to trying more of their food next time I come. read more

I always come here for all my party needs... I love the bandejas that they have and it's pretty convenient since the goods are bite size and perfect for nomzing on... The pastries are super flaky, flavorful & fresh. I did have a small discrepancy here a few days ago where they sold me an old bocadito platter that had a sticker of when it was prepared... Which was about a week before my purchase date. We came here in a break from school and were sooo disappointed. We helped the nearest bakery and based on the reviews, decided to come here. It was around 7:45 AM so we figured everything would be fresh but it didn't taste that way. We ordered the ham croquetas and they were superrrr soggy :( we also ordered empanadas that no one enjoyed due to the taste. I stopped by before heading out downtown and ordered a café, a cheesecake, and an empanada de carne. The coffee was somewhat sweet and good, the empanada was alright, the meat itself was ok, and the cheesecake actually was actually a combination of cheesecake on top half, and tres leches cake on the bottom. It did not have as smooth of a texture on the cheesecake, and the tres leches was not as moist as it could have been, but interesting mix. One of my all time favorite Cuban bakeries in the neighborhood. This bakery has been in the "hood' for years. The hood I refer to as Little Havana, where I grew up. I can remember walking home from school with a buddy and always stopping in for a quick snack because we couldn't just help but let the smell lure us in.
