Verrazano Flooring saved the day for us! Before we hired them, we briefly worked with an incompetent liar contractor, who completely ruined our new wood floors, because they did not know what they were doing. We were super frustrated and not sure if we would be able to fix the damage, but they definitely did! Frank, Gina, Glenn and the whole team was super responsive, gave us good guidance and helped us finish the project. I was super happy how professional they were. The team covered up my whole kitchen cabinets with plastic tarp along with my downstairs to make sure no wood dust spread. The team also put their best effort to save any messed up areas from the previous contractor. Honestly I couldn't be happier to have worked with them. I will be reaching out to them for any future work!

The best in town! We interviewed over 10 flooring contractors before making our selection, and the in-person quote provided by Glen from Verrazano was the most detailed, consultative, thorough in explanation, with options -- allowing us, the clients, to make an informed decision. Next, dealing with final contractual elements with Frank was pleasure. He's not only thorough himself in explaining the contract, but he's direct/up front, which I really appreciated and has a great personality/sense of humor! He apparently set us up with great workers because they did an amazing job. We can't believe the floors turned out the way they did, as we were very concerned about their original, fragile status. Everyone who visits is impressed and thinks we got brand newly installed floor pieces even though they were simply sanded and sealed by Verrazano's team. The team was able to meticulously bring out the original beauty of the wooden designs through this magical work. I have to say I was also extremely impressed by Gina, the coordinator, who was client oriented, consistent, and punctual in her follow ups, checking in on how we felt about the status of the work so far. She is probably by far one of the best customer service experiences I've had. She was organized, timely, empathetic/friendly, knowledgable, and always remembered our last conversation. An overall great team and great results. So impressed. By the way, I've been hearing around town that we apparently went with the best! Verrazano seems to have a great reputation. Completely recommend them, and hope this helps someone to make their informed decision. Thank you, Frank, Gina, Glen, and team! We are so grateful for the work you've done to make us feel happy to walk into/live in our new home.

These guys are amazing. We called them for a last minute job and they moved heaven and earth to get the work done on time for us to move in. Despite being threatened by a malignant neighbor and battling through a snowstorm, they managed to transform our cupped, yellowed, dingy floors into a thing of beauty. Don't take my word for it. UPDATE: the day after the floors were finished, our movers dropped a heavy metal shelf, ramming it into a floor board. I gave Verrazano a call and they filled and refinished the damaged board in about 5 minutes, for free. These guys!

I found Verrazano Flooring on Yelp with raving reviews. The reviews all turn out to be true! Frank and Gina have been more than helpful and very customer oriented. The timing of my apartment renovation could not be worse. After a day of work, COVID situation in NYC stopped all renovation work. I waited for almost 4 months before the work can be resumed. Frank's team jumped on it and finished the rest of the work in 4 days. I was ecstatic when I see the new floor. It looks just the way I wanted it. For an apartment owner, changing the wooden floor is a big and expensive decision. Frank and his team - Gina and Leo have made this a good and smooth experience. I am glad that I found them on Yelp.

After refinish

Verrazano Flooring did an excellent job repairing and refinishing our nearly 100 year old hardwood floors. Glenn came by and quoted us for the repairs and the refinish work we wanted done and was able to put us on the schedule right away. They really did an amazing job and for the cost it was money well spent! Definitely recommend these guys if you're looking for something new or trying to bring antique floors back to life.

before project: dark-colored finish made the place feel dark

Verrazano Flooring did a great job with a sand and refinish of the wood flooring throughout my apartment. Gina, Glenn, and the whole team were a pleasure to work with. They offered me choices of what stain coat to get, and were knowledgeable about the types of stains that went well with the wood. I wanted to lighten up the place, and it turned out looking beautiful. They did a great job protecting other rooms and surfaces from damage during the process - I had just had some painting done before they started, and after they finished the baseboards and newly painted surfaces looked perfect - no touching up needed and no residue or dust left behind. They worked with my availability, finished on time, and didn't generate any complaints from neighboring apartments. They came highly recommended by my family - and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a job well done!

After stain

Verrazano did a great job fixing an area of our floor that had been sloppily patched by a previous owner. They pulled up the damaged boards, fixed the with the subfloor, put down new boards, and stained the whole to match our existing floor. They set my expectations a bit low about their ability to match the color - then vastly exceeded those expectations. It was easy to get in touch with them throughout the process. Attached photos show the affected area (with new boards, before/after they were stained)

Expensive but floors came out amazing! Office staff was easy to work with. Would definitely use them again.

Opted for select red oak and a natural satin finish to brighten up the entire apartment

I recently had Verrazano replace the old hardwood floors in my Washington Heights apartment, and everything came out beautiful. As a first-time homeowner, getting all of the flooring redone was a pretty major task, so I requested quite a few estimates. I ultimately chose Verrazano because Glenn was the best of the bunch -- knowledgeable, confident and responsive. The price fell somewhere in the middle and was very reasonable. My experience during the actual work being done wasn't as smooth as the estimate process. The crew worked extremely fast, which I certainly appreciated, especially considering the amount of work that had to be done within five days. Communication, however, was a bit lacking. I live in a very strict co-op and had to be in constant contact with the flooring office to make sure rules were being followed (I was staying in another neighborhood during this time), but calls and emails weren't being returned. I received no status updates and wasn't informed when the work was actually completed. I had to follow up on when I can move back in, when I can put the furniture/rugs back down, etc. Luckily, the quality of work was excellent, as you can see from the before & after photos. I feel like I live in a brand new, brighter, cleaner apartment. Most of the creaks have been eliminated, and the floors feel solid and sturdy. I also have to add that Frank (the owner) is a class act in customer service, helping to make sure things were taken care of and following up with me directly. I would recommend Verrazano to others based on their quality of work, but be prepared to stress the importance of communication and particular needs.

I hired this company to reglaze my bathtub on September 23, 2026, based largely on the positive…read morereviews I had seen. Unfortunately, my experience was very different. Immediately after the technician left, the tub appeared acceptable. However, the following day my husband and I discovered a hairline crack and numerous fish-eye "dimples" across the front ledge of the tub. When I brought these issues to the company's attention, I was told that the dimples were merely cosmetic and would lessen and improve over time. I was also told that they would not affect the durability, waterproofing, or normal use of the tub. I was particularly concerned by that explanation because the defects were present in the newly completed finish. I was even instructed to use a sharp knife to scrape at what I was told might be a hair rather than a crack, with the assurance that doing so would not affect the durability of the finish. After researching the issue, I learned that fish-eye defects can occur when contaminants, moisture, oils, or other substances interfere with the coating process. Regardless of the cause, these defects were clearly visible in the finished work and were not the quality I expected from a professional reglazing job. There was also considerable back-and-forth before the company agreed to send someone back to address the problems. It was only after I mentioned that I might have to pursue the matter in small claims court that they agreed to revisit the tub. On October 6, 2026, the technician, Gega, returned. After approximately 15 minutes of work, he sanded and polished the front ledge. The result was that the gloss layer was removed, leaving the ledge dull and rough/porous. In my view, the attempted repair left the tub in worse condition than before. Gega refused to do anything further and left. When I asked whether a new top coat would be applied, I was told no. Shortly afterward, I spoke with the owner, Oleksandr, to express my concerns about the result. I specifically explained that the gloss had been removed and that the ledge was now dull and rough. I was told that the gloss would eventually fade anyway, perhaps in a year or two. I explained that this did not address the problem and that I believed the ledge should have been properly refinished. I was then told that the company's budget did not allow them to reglaze the top ledge. That response was extremely disappointing. A customer should not be responsible for the company's internal budget considerations when addressing defective or unsatisfactory work. I originally chose this company because of the good reviews. In hindsight, I wish I had paid closer attention to the negative reviews as well. My experience has been that everything may be fine if the job goes perfectly, but when problems arise, getting them addressed can be a very different experience. I am sharing my experience so that prospective customers can make an informed decision. I paid for a professionally completed reglazing job and expected the finished product to be free of obvious defects and any subsequent repair to restore--not worsen--the condition of the tub.

It was very old carpeting so a lot of the cushioning/padding that was underneath was stuck to the floor as well so they made sure all of that was scraped up without damaging the wooden flooring below. I learned later, with other craftsmen, that with correct tools and consideration of my desired outcome, it was not necessary to butcher my floors on their edges. This flooring company tore my floor up. I did try to go cheap so I went with them. I did not know that when we negotiated price, I negotiated away the sealant ti protect floors and allowance to butcher my floors. I was told back/forth 2/3 coats on floor. With/without sealant? Angel said 2 coats sealant. Soon dirt is well in the grains of wood. I know because I can see where a rectifying area was made with the sealant compared to everything that sticks with floor. I have question is it the @Bona #Bona product. My first rodeo. Fixing will cost me an entire 675 sq new floor. It aches my heart. I don't have that kind of money and I wanted a nice outcome. If I had been informed more, I would have work harder to have paid more instead to spend so much more now fix in a few years after I save to do it. Why are workers not honest?!!!! Please inform the consumer the cost of cutting price. I have regrets that will cost me now to redo and seal my floors, and more, if I want to resume my useable sq ftg because you ate it away to close the gaps you butchered. Please do not do this to another customer again. Just be honest even if you don't get the job. I am so hurt.
