I was originally looking for a vegan cake to have at a surprise brunch party for my wife, but I'm so glad I came across someone who takes health, taste, and tradition so seriously. Tonya was in the middle of a huge launch with Uber eats, but she still graciously look the time to walk me through options from cupcakes to doughnuts. She even went into detail asking about what my wife likes to personalize a recipe which wound up being rum infused with a sugar crumb topping, with the added touch of fresh rose pedals which I've never seen before. Incredible! Even though the doughnuts are baked instead of fried, they have a perfectly soft and chewy cake texture. Needless to say, everyone at the party was blown away. I can't wait to come back to Boston and try the cookies. Thanks Tonya! https://the-ancient-bakers.myshopify.com/

I ordered some of the cake pops which arrived yesterday. I paid an arm and a leg for shipping. The pops arrived with fingerprints all over the bags and looked dirty. The designs on the pops looked horrible. I ordered trough another company- but figured out that these were from Veronica's Treats because they put in their marketing postcards. I will not be ordering these again- stay away. The pops were pre frozen and tasted bad. Yuck. read more

I first discovered this excellent bakery when I first moved to my sweetheart's hometown in the…read more70's. Everything they make is outstanding and I have been a regular customer locally and from afar for over four decades, it's super quality tasty stuff!! Portuguese immigrants Eliseu & Emanuelina Amaral began baking sweetbread out of their garage and by 1963 they established Amaral's Bakery. They not only provide sweetbread, rolls, and other great products in their Fall Right ver, MA storefront but they're also distributed in regional grocery stores. In adiition they have a very good online service that allows those of us who've relocated out of the area to continue to enjoy their great breads and other products. Bolos and Massa with or without raisins, sliced sweet bread for toast, homemade pound cake, and lemon or plain biscoitos, those are my honey's favorites. Let's talk about bread, I have found since moving away from New England that it's damn near impossible to find good bread, specifically in the south like TN, MS & AL. I supposed I got spolied by living in Portuguese and Italian communities where bread is so central to practically every meal. But I keep thinking, just how hard can it be to make a decent piece of bread? Apparently too hard, but I digress :-) Yes their sweetbread is excellent but I am addicted to their Portuguese rolls! I used to buy them several times a week and sometimes I would get them while they were still HOT! Oh yeah, it's very much like the Krispy Kreme tingly thrill when you get those hot doughnuts. Sooo I used to get friends to FedEx those Portuguese rolls to me in the 90's but these days I simply go to their website and order up several dozen at a time and boom, addiction satisfied :-) Another big advantage is being able to order chourcio (Portuguese sausage) links, patties, etc. and other great stuff like Malasadas and coffee milk. Bottle line: The people here are fantastic and they put out a consistently excellent high-quality bunch of products. Highly recommended!!
