Frosted sugar cookies & cupcakes from Hometown (chocolate chip cookie cake was made at home)

Got cookies and cupcakes for our baby shower from here and they did not disappoint! Highly recommend for events or just to pop in for a treat.

Amazing bread !!! Happy cashier, and smelled like a bakery inside! I will come back ASAP!

Last Saturday we went to pick up our Daughter's birthday cake. I had called a few weeks in advance to place our order. I had given the bakery a picture for the cake decorator to follow and paid over the phone in full. When my Husband went to pick up our cake at the agreed upon time the cake wasn't ready. I had asked the girl on the phone if they could make the cake that I had a PInterest picture of and if it could be completed for a pick up time between 10-11am. I was told that they absolutely could copy the cake that I had requested and that the time for pick up was no problem. However, when my husband went to pick up the cake @ 2pm he was told it "wasn't finished yet". The owner Arlene came out and instead of apologizing for the cake not being ready for pick up, she argued with my husband. She stated that based on our conversation that she had told me that the pick up time would be just before closing. Problem was Arlene and I never had any communication, none! I had spoken with a young girl on the phone. Also, the cake did not look anything like my picture I had submitted to their website. I made it look more attractive by adding my own candles and a glittery sign that had been made special on ETSY wishing a Happy 20th birthday to my Daughter. The only positive thing I can say about the cake was it tasted delicious! That was my saving grace! It was a lemon cake with vanilla buttercream frosting. The cake itself was super moist and the taste was amazing! For $50 I would have expected the cake to look as close to my picture as possible. If they had said they couldn't duplicate the cake in my picture I would have asked for something else. I was very disappointed that it wasn't anything like the picture I submitted and for the expense I would have thought it would have been ready on time. Instead of apologizes, we were given many excuses. Would I go there again, probably not.

Hometown Bakery made a delicious graduation cake for our son's graduation. We went with half yellow/half chocolate and our whole family loved it. So many compliments on how great it tasted. Thank you to Arlene and her team!

We purchased a cupcake bouquet from Arlene for my bridal shower. The cupcakes were beautiful and delicious! I highly recommend Hometown Bakery for any parties you're hosting!

    Cake from top

I asked if she was able to make a specific cake my daughter wanted for her birthday, and it came out wonderful! Tasted amazing, better than a store cake. She replied to my emails quickly and the price was very reasonable. I can't wait to order another cake!

a vase of cupcakes and flowers

I ordered a cupcake bouquet to bring to Thanksgiving and it was a huge hit! It came out beautifully, and everyone was so impressed. Some people didn't even realize it was cupcakes at first. Cupcakes and frosting were delicious. Arlene was very responsive and accommodated my request for spring colors. I would highly recommend this for a unique and delicious dessert!

    Cupcake wedding dress

We saw a picture of a cupcake wedding dress and sent it to Hometown Bakery. She created one for us! It tastes as good as it looks!

The bakery has a small parking lot with about half a dozen spots. A policeman was on duty today to direct cars to the Walgreen parking lot next door when this lot was full, and to let them in when spots were open. As the line of people waiting outside the door to get in was constant, this was very smart planning and much appreciated. Some folks seemed to know St. Joseph's Day was very busy here and had placed orders in advance. These smart shoppers skipped the line and quickly came back outside with their orders bagged up. The line moved pretty well with four shop assistants helping customers. Only about 10 guests, max, fit inside at a time. Once inside bagged breads like sandwich rolls were on shelves while calzone and other meal pastry were in a case. Then, there were three cases full of zeppola. During our visit they had chocolate, pistachio, ricotta and original available. We got one of each. I cut my first zeppola in half and see the cream filling sits all the way down into the pastry. These are firm enough to hold in your hand and bit into. The pastry is very much like that in an éclair. Firm while being light and airy. The original filling is a lovely custard. The chocolate is a fluffy cream base I believe. Both were very tasty. I have two more to try and am looking forward to them. Between these tasty pastry and other items they had for sale there, we'll be back. You should check them out too.

The aroma of freshly baked dough and caramelized sugar fills the air, drawing you toward immaculate display cases filled with a stunning variety of treats. Every single item is a testament to authentic French baking technique, featuring perfectly laminated, buttery croissants that shatter with crispness, vibrant fruit tarts with flawlessly structured crusts, and dense, velvety eclairs. Whether you are grabbing a crusty, artisanal baguette or indulging in a luxurious mille-feuille, the exceptional quality of the imported ingredients and the meticulous craftsmanship shine through in every single bite. Beyond the extraordinary pastries and savory savories, the atmosphere makes this boulangerie an absolute destination. Even when the lines stretch long on busy summer weekends, the energetic, smartly aproned staff handle the rush with incredible warmth and effortless professionalism. The rustic, charming interior combined with the view of bakers working hard at the ovens in the back adds a comforting, lively energy to the entire experience. It is easily the finest bakery on Cape Cod, and an absolute must-visit neighborhood treasure that will leave you eager to return the very next morning. What a find! Thanks

This little French bakery in Falmouth MA was new to us on our last trip a couple of years ago. I…read morehave no idea how long it has existed but certainly not back when we lived nearby. We returned this visit on a very hot day and with very busy downtown, so parking close was a must. Sadly, there was hardly any parking at all so "nearby" became only a wish. It was quite a hike to this shop. But it was worth it. We had already eaten lunch and our goal was a French pastry each for dessert and the option to sit inside in the cooled room to eat. We found 2 seats at the nearby eating counter and enjoyed the sweet snack. The line was exceptionally long so it did take a while to get our treat. You need to browse the case as you wait in line and be ready to order as you reach the front of the line, which luckily parallels the case, affording a decent view. The staff member, who has rotated back to the front of the staff line, will pull what you want from the case, bag or box it as appropriate to the pastry, run it to the cashier and then return back into the staff line. When you see the staff member do that, turn yourself around and head to the cashier line and pay. Then find a place to eat. If it is completely full inside, there are benches outside, across the street on the library lawn. We have done that in the past. Be sure you get your drinks from the cashier because getting back in line to order them later is counterproductive to having a nice time. This time I ordered a berry custard tart and my husband ordered the pear caramel custard tart. The crust was beautifully made, as always, all classic French flavors filling them. There are breads and pastries of all kinds from croissants to eclairs. Most people order a lot and take out in a box for entertaining or a group waiting for them somewhere else. Honestly, when it's this good and this beautiful, and this crowded, I never even looked at the prices. It was worth whatever it was.
