I wish I could say better things, but the pizza is kind of so-so. First, let's go over the highlights: the dough is good, and that makes their breadsticks great. Simple and airy, brushed with garlic butter and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. My daughter and I enjoyed them with some marinara and garlic ranch. Then the pizza came out and unfortunately things kind of stopped being so great. While the breadsticks set a high bar, sadly the pizza couldn't follow through. It's sad because I feel like with the dough they're using it could be really great. Sauce was very light, couldn't even taste it really. I'm not one to drown a pizza in sauce, but on our pie it was barely present at all. Toppings were generous but somehow not very flavorful. Maybe I'm being picky, but when I order a pizza with veggies, part of what I'm excited for is the savory flavor that comes from them being baked at high temps... sadly again, the way that the cheese is applied really seems to hide the veggies from getting that toasty flavor. Instead the veg is all crunchy and undercooked. Also, I'll admit I'm no expert on pizza cheese, but whatever brand of mozzarella they're using is like, super dry and hard, for lack of a better word. A few years back I tried the cheese bread sticks here and I was really impressed with the quality and value of the product. Yesterday 12/29/21 I ordered the cheese with pepperoni bread sticks and they were gross lacking ingredients so bad I had to just throw them away. I payed $7.00 because I left a small tip (The ranch tasted okay I ate that with something else.) So who ever is in charge of making and baking these needs to be re taught or let go. As you can see from the pictures there is virtually no cheese and two slices of pepperoni. The bread was flat and tough and there were four of these strange "bread sticks" that were horrible. I am never going to go back here to eat again! The pizza was mediocre a few years ago and the only thing that I really loved was the breadsticks so now there's no point in going back here again. Maybe the owner should not hire young people because kids do really care about the quality of product according to my experience. I could make this from scratch at home better. I got to the window after 20 min in the drive through paid for the pizza and then was told my pizza wasn't done yet and I had to get back in line again for another 30 min. The bathroom is absolutely Gross! They only have one restroom that is open and it must be the old men's room because the urinal was missing off the wall and it was absolutely Filthy. BEWARE my mushroom friends-canned mushrooms on the pizza! :( We ordered the combination (pepperoni-sausage-beef-green peppers-white onion-allot of cheese and dreaded canned mushrooms, stuffed cheesy breadsticks and the house salad. House salads were fantastic! Came with olives, red onion, tomato and croutons-the perfect size and delicious. Best pizza in town. We've tried a couple since moving to the Longview/Kelso area and almost gave up on having good pizza before we tried Vernie's. The cheese is awesome and it just perfectly melts and covers all the toppings. You can tell they use good quality toppings on their pizza and they don't top the pizza sparingly. My only critique is I wish the crust/dough had a little more seasoned flavor to it but honestly that might just be me, my boyfriend loves it. Vernie's Pizza makes delicious, reasonably priced pizzas and they don't skimp on their toppings! Lots of room and a great sized party room that you can reserve for your special events. We have had several parties here and have never left disappointed in the pizza, service or price. The crust is not a crispy crust, so don't come expecting that. It is very tasty, even though it can get weighed down by the toppings and you can watch all of your toppings slide right off if you are not careful when taking a bite! I actually think this is a positive point in favor of their pizza! They have great specialty pizzas - Meatzza and taco pizzas are usually the favorites with us. But upon coming in to eat today I'm considering legal action for head injury cause the gentleman currently working as of 1:52 pm 8/7/22 hurt my brain. Ordered to go but had time to kill so decided to eat in, paid, got our order number placard and went and grabbed a seat. When the food was ready, the guy brought it up and said "sorry ladies and gentlemen but our balcony seating is closed, it says so on the sign." Uh... no the fuck it doesn't. Anywhere. There's a party room closed sign on the other side of the building and a were closing early due to staff shortage sign. But for some reason we had to get up, walk down the one step to a different table...? There was a couple already in the section we tried to sit at, and remnants of a group also seated in the same area so I'm truly baffled as to why the fuck this guy needed us to get up and move... and now, before posting, he apologized for making us move but the previous people were there before he put the sign up. I gestured that the only sign there states their closing early. He said "were not closing early, it's this sign." (Putting his hand on the sign fucking looking at it) So as I got up to leave, I gestured to the same damn sign again and said, "all its states is your closing early." Only then was he like "whaaa? It's hit and miss with this place. I have been going here since they first opened. My father and I used to be greeted by the owner and he would come turn on the TV for us and make us comfortable. As a kid I enjoyed playing the arcade machines. All the fun stuff is gone, the arcade machines, the televisions..there are plywood boards blocking off.where the games used to be . I want to say the food has gone downhill also, but I'm not positive if that is the case or if I have developed a better understanding of what good pizza is over the years . I've still only had the Breadsticks, (just the regular ones, which are Garlic Parmesan!), and Potato Wedges, which are both still great, and very cheap! I have been in Longview about 5 years. I Love Pizza. Vernie's has been my favorite Pizza. I just ordered their 2 medium special as I always do. I always get Canadian Bacon & Pineapple. Tonight I got Bacon & Pineapple. Was not very good. Besides the order being wrong, there was very little sauce or cheese. Very dry. This is the first time I was not satisfied with Vernie's. This pizza is hands down the best in longview I have had brunos and they are just fine , lexis over in Lexington is great too if you want a more artisan pizza but the place that won me over is vernies. Been twice now and their classic Canadian bacon and pineapple is amazing but also with their Pepperoni they are the only pizza joint in town that doesn't like bake or deep-fry their pepperoni into small little crunchy disc's. OH my God you have to try their bread sticks they are like little salted pillows full of perfectly melted mozzarella. Let me tell you the one thing that I am on the fence about and what almost made me go with 4 stars, there is a seasoning they use that doesn't taste bad or gross me out or anything but I kept slowing my chewing to try to identify it , maybe it was marjoram instead of oregano or something ? Love this place. The staff are always friendly and warm. They always are looking for specials or ways to give you a deal without having to be asked. The atmosphere inside is inviting and the pizza is great. Try the Taco pizza! Well I tried to like this place and I am sure they use good ingredients. We approach the front counter to order and we are waiting for about two minutes and then from the the kitchen someone yells, "Front Counter Front Counter". So one of the employees with a Samurai Headband finally comes over and says, "Whatta you want?". We order and it comes to $34 and I say no problem. We get the Pizza and the ingredients look good. Unfortunately the crust is thick and uncooked almost like eating uncooked Pie Crust. If this is Little Caesar's or Dominos I'm not worried since it's less than $8, but I just spent over $30. So I return it to the counter and wait and wait and the girl there says, "Ah is there a problem"' and I say Yes it's completely uncooked. "Oh sorry we just got new ovens and we are not used to them". So I say "Well if I got a new oven I would try to be a little more attentive". No comment from her. We finally get the Pizza back and all they did was throw it back in the oven on the serving tray and then they add another tray and bring it to us and the girl says,"Ok the tray it's on is super super hot and the tray under it is not". After just leaving Vernies drive-up window? sitting in line for 20 minutes to get a taco pizza that was done 20 minutes prior to arriving to pick up, after four phone calls asking them to have other cars that were not ready for their pizza when they pulled up to move forward, like OTHER drive-up places in town, then being hung up on by one male employee, and then flipped off by the girl at the drive-up window? I'm done. Teenage punks who have ZERO respect for their elders and lack of courtesy? After reading some latest reviews? Eric, the Owner, should be ashamed of himself. I was NOT rude or condescending, nor deserve this treatment or lack of professionalism from a customer based establishment. If this is how they treat their Customers, I am now afraid to eat my pizza, wondering if they went so far to spit in it, as well. Since when is an Employees name kept from the public, TJ? They are an old time looking and aging pizza place. The pizza is OK and the place is large for a group. We received our pizza in a timely manner as promised and for the price it was not bad. Can't say I actually tried the pizza because I haven't since I live in another state, but I wanted to surprise my dad with a pizza and dessert delivery. These guys were the only ones who would deliver to his home. I didn't think it was that far out of the way for all the other places I called, but apparently it was. The Stuffed Breadstics were ok. Something was definitely different, very salty. Went through the drive through. The first girl that helped me was great. Very friendly. But the view into the kitchen is why I am writing this review. The other female worker, blonde, very long, curly hair, proceeded to put her hair into a pony tail right in the kitchen, while walking around the corner. Didn't go to the sink and wash her hands. Went to the pizza oven and put something in the oven. YUCK. A few minutes later, the same girl is leaning on the corner of the wall right by the drive through, eating something. Do you not have an employee break room? I was waiting at the drivethrough probably 15--20 minute. This employee, and the manager on shift, need to be talked to. Not a good showing.
