    I am a fan of Best Buy, more so because there are few options these days for one-stop-shopping for…read moreyour appliance and electronics needs. Historically, I have been a fan of this Best Buy location, and they came through for me late last year following my home purchase in NoCal. I had a rough start with their delivery "experts" when having a rather expensive washer/dryer and refrigerator delivered who complained the entire time they were at my home. What made matters worse, is that the dryer was poorly hooked up to the dryer vent causing the exhaust to blow inside behind the dryer, and the gas line was dangerously attached using improper connectors which caused a gas leak inside my home. The gas line required the gas company to come out to replace the connectors which is fine, but the dryer should have never been hooked up with the inappropriate connections. I highly suggest that you check your appliance installations from this Best Buy. Fortunately, Best Buy customer service was able to resolve the issue of the dryer vent by sending a different set of techs back out to my home. They also issued a generous gift card for use in the store. This Best Buy will also accept electronics for recycling so that they don't wind up in the landfills. Employees will ask if you have removed the hard drive before accepting your old computers. I dropped off 4 old computers one day with no problem. For the most part, this location is fine. Employees are generally friendly, and the store is stocked. Due to the COVID-19 situation, employees now were masks and store capacity limited. It also seems that the employees are much more engaged with customers these days.

    Geek Squad-Not Best Buy. We had a very strange and…read morefrustrating experience with the Geek Squad at the Visalia Best Buy. We brought in our 2025 Apple MacBook (only about 3 months old) to ask about repair options. Screen has a black vertical line The first employee we spoke with was very nice and told us they could send it out to Apple for repairs for around $500. He said he was about to go off shift but that someone else would be with us shortly to finish the paperwork. Instead, we waited about an hour before another employee finally came out. His attitude and information were completely different. He told us it wasn't worth repairing and immediately started trying to sell us a new laptop for around $1,200. When we explained that the previous employee had just told us repairs would be about $500, he suddenly left and came back saying they had "run the numbers" and now Apple would charge $650 or possibly more. The price and story kept changing, which made the whole situation feel very questionable. Another red flag was that they asked us to turn off the "Find My" feature before even moving forward with anything. At that point the entire interaction felt off, so we decided to take our laptop and leave. This is a three-month-old MacBook, and the way the situation went from a reasonable repair estimate to being pushed toward buying a new laptop felt very strange and uncomfortable. Unfortunately, this experience left us feeling like we were being steered toward a sale rather than given honest repair advice.
