This Staples location is not a shining example of the once popular office supply chain. This location is particularly dreary. It's a bit on the dark side and feels overcrowded, messy and outdated. Consistently understaffed and almost painfully slow sometimes. The amazon returns station is the worst possible place to return amazon items. UPS and Kohls are far easier and at least 3 times quicker. Aside from never actually having enough staff, forcing 1 person to slowly switch between checking people out and doing returns, the Staples system also has several more steps it seems for returns causing every return to take longer. I assume they are trained to do this also, but when we're waiting for 15 minutes and next up for returns and then then told boxes have to be closed, and new boxes have to be opened, please wait and then, welll after the fact somebody comes to buy something and we get "I have to help paying customer first, please just wait a minute", kind of annoying to hear. If Staples wasnt the place amazon keeps sending me for my returns, I would absolutely go elsewhere. read more

The store itself is a disorganized environment.. feels like an unnecessary distraction. There is a disconnect in the relationship between iPostal1 and the employees who handle the Mail that is sent to the private mailbox address. In order to utilize their copy or printer services, the documents must be sent via email to an unidentified third party source. After the email is sent then the documents are transmitted to the machine for printing. And of course the employees are involved with the final process of retrieving your documents. Which makes their involvement an additional involuntary data breach and a completely reckless disregard for any customers right to confidentiality. There is no consideration for privacy laws or other relevant safety measures. If you ask an employee for information related to the third party "email address"; or ask how to obtain the store or third party "privacy policy" for this particular service, the employees cannot provide any reasonable explanation. Which ultimately means that (more than one individual) whoever is vicariously liable for the "hiring, training, and supervision" processes has been "negligent" in their efforts to maintain integrity and compliance within this organizational structure. read more

Valerie the supervisor was beyond incredible, helpful, and very patient and understanding while I was in the middle of making so many decisions. The worst customer service if you need something printed in a hurry, same day service means nothing. My order was due 830 pm wed, i went to pick it up at 930 on thurs as i was to leave town I ordered 1000 business cards, there was a small issue i could have fixed in less than 10 minutes if they had bothered to pick up a phone, but no instead they made me late to leave on my business trip with 140 garbage business cards promising a refund and the cards when i returned They then canceled my order the next day and no refund. This is at the lower end of the office supply store experience, and mostly because they proclaim to be a "superstore" when they are clearly not. I've been to office superstores. They are vast warehouses of everything you can imagine from printing supplies to paper products to the latest in office technology. Here I found a mediocre selection that did not include either of the things I came in for: trash cans or the fairly common printer ink I use. Read WHY Staples is 1,000% times better than Office Depot or ANY OTHER printing, copying or scanning place in Visalia. I have an 800+ page document of my family history that I wanted to get scanned into a PDF so that I would always have it and pass it on to my family. I called around and Office Depot wanted to charge me $3.99 for the first page and $0.25 for every page after that. I was looking at $200+ for a scanned image!!! Are these people CRAZY? There's no ink or paper being used just the use of the machine. They're NUTS!! They wouldn't even reason with me on it. :( I called Staples and spoke to Eric at the Copy Center and he told me that his prices were the same but he couldn't see the logic behind it and would only charge me $6.99! I was shocked. I repeated six dollars and ninety-nine cents and not six hundred and nintey-nine dollars right? He confirmed the price and laughed at the inquiry. It took him two days (5+ hours) to do it. He went above and beyond ANYTHING that I would have expected. When I tried to pay him more for his work he cheerfully said no and that it was a pleasure to serve me. I whole heartily RECOMMEND Eric to anyone that has copy, printing or scanning needs in Visalia. Good Layout of the store; and friendly staff. The reason why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the what happened while i was checking out. So I go and check out and the gentlemen that checked me out asked me if I was going to be paying with my "staples more" account. I said no; he asked me if i had a "staples more" account and I said no; he asked me if I would like a "staples more" account and I asked him well what is a "Staples more" account. The way that he explained it that it was an upgraded rewards program. So he finished checking me out and handed me over to one of his associates and they did all of the paperwork for this "staples more" program. While the paper work was being done I thought that it was a little strange that they were asking me for me SSN, yearly income and how much i pay in rent every month. At the time I just thought well maybe they are going to be basing what rewards am offered based on my income. After I had left the store I had googled this "Staples More" program on my phone and I come to find out that this program was not an upgraded rewards program but it is actually a credit card with "added bones" for what you spend with a high interest rate that is financed thru citi bank. Recycled 20 ink cartridges at the store, and thought to have $40 in store credit by mail. But somehow they changed the policy that you have to buy $100 in store within the 3 months time period to get the credit. No one at the check out told me that in July, so I'm out $40 .
