As a family plan customer of several years, I regret upgrading to a S10+ on Mar 19, 2019, Tue. On that day, there were many pre-sale agreements. Salesperson promising to walk me through how to use new apps got me excited. Xavier even gave me one of his two cellphone numbers to make an appointment for the following week. What could possibly go wrong? Unfortunately the atmosphere quickly changed when I repeatedly declined insurance. Happy feelings were gone. Sometime later (during the middle of data/file transfer) salesperson Xavier informed me he is leaving for lunch. I was left there alone. About half an hours later, some data/files did not transfer as promised. Upon inquiring the entrance area greeter, she told me Xavier is still at lunch and will return within an hour. I was given the option to wait. I chose to leave to meet another commitment. I walked out with a new phone without all data/files transferred and not being shown how to use certain apps. My salesperson Xavier had to take lunch. As I was walking out, a different staff member took this opportunity to take a shot at me - he made uncalled for comments about my attire i.e. wearing a pair of bright yellow shorts. I sense I over-stayed my welcome. * * * 3/21/Thurs: 1st of two requests (text) for follow-up appointment was replied with "I can't do weekend appointments for trouble shooting or questions. Those are big sale days and management doesn't allow it" I waited until 3/24/Sun to ask for a week-day meeting: " I'm not technical support. I'm a salesman. I am sorry" After consulting another local merchant, I was encouraged to share my principal experience on Yelp. I will also report unfair business practice to BBB and detail my interactions and expectations in a letter to Verizon Chief Customer Experience Officer. I am saddened when I asked for help from my salesperson, Xavier would not follow through on his pre-sale promises. I should not have allowed myself to be baited and switched. I feel I was duped into a $1,000 cellphone that I do not completely know how to use. read more

I really don't know why Verizon bothers with having brick and mortar stores anymore except on the off chance that something is in stock and can be picked up same day. I understand that Covid has changed how stores operate, but it would help if people actually followed the rules the company/store posts. I was told I needed to make an appointment due to Covid to prevent crowds. I got to the store 15 minutes early and after checking in, I was told to wait in line with the other people who didn't have appointments. I was not taken to the front of the line so I could be seen at my appointment start time. People were served in order of the line, regardless of appointment status. I was seen 25 minutes after my appointment time. The item I wanted was not in stock, so I was told I was told I needed to use my phone to order the item myself. There was a problem with the system, and I was told to call Verizon customer service on my own phone. 30 minutes later, I'm still on hold to talk to customers service, my phone is dying and I can't charge my phone in store due to Covid, and the people in the store won't place the order. I asked if there was any reason why I was needing to place the order in store, and if there was any reason to return to get help setting up the new phone when I had it. I was told I would need to set up the phone myself and I would need to complete the order on my own because they don't do that. I asked if I have problems, can I come back to get help? They told me they aren't providing technical assistance due to Covid. I left, went home, started the order over from my computer, and was checked out in 10 minutes. Service here wasn't great before Covid, but now the people here have an excuse to just stand around. I won't be going back, and this is a prime example of why so many people are choosing to continue shopping online even after stores are reopening after lockdown. read more

If I could review this store a zero, I absolutely would. Why did Verizon change a policy that you can't use the pin for the account and only the account manager can allow you to be an authorized user, so that you can buy a phone? They also don't do anything as associates, you have to do everything yourself. The associate who worked there then continued to tell us that she's already doing too much for us. Yet, we left without a phone because they wouldn't allow us to buy one on the account. Verizon is absolutely terrible and your new rules in place make zero sense, especially as you hear our parents trying to add us to the account through the phone, but the directions aren't clear. read more

This review is for Tyler at the Vacaville store, not for Verizon service in general or other customer service from the main office I received because those were both great. However, I made an online order to add two lines to my husbands existing account. I did a bring your own device and I added an iphone7 for my dad. Online, before placing the order there was an ad about BYOD and getting a $250 visa gift card and saying you can pick up the SIM in store. When I checked out, there was nothing about the SIM card, so I figured I must be picking it up. So I called and spoke with Tyler. He said it was being shipped with the iphone7. This was set to go to my dad, who lives an hour away, so I asked if I could just pick one up. He said it might be tricky, but that he could do it. So I went in and within about ten minutes I was out the door with my new service, yay! Or so I thought.... When checking online after, what Tyler actually did was add a 4th line to my account!!!! This complicated everything and caused a hot mess for me. Tyler said nothing of this, did not mention at all that this was how he was getting me a SIM card..... and gave zero instructions about this new line he did... or how to cancel one line or the other since we did not need a 4th line. I called Tyler the next day and he told me to contact Verizon customer service. For someone who created a huge problem for me, and mislead me about what was happening, he offered NO help in solving the problem he created. Thankfully, I spoke with someone through chat named Shawn who was extremely helpful. Unfortunately, it took us almost an hour of chatting to figure out how to fix what Tyler did. If he had just been upfront about creating a 4th line, I would have said no. He made it seem like I was picking up a SIM card for my online order. Now today will be day 3 of cleaning up Tyler's mess where I will now need to activate and deactivate a 4th unneeded line. I will also have to change a phone number since what he did somehow shifted the numbers to the wrong phones. Also, it would have caused me to be out $120 since Tyler made my line an in store purchase, instead of the online order I made originally.... but thankfully Shawn at customer service took good care of me and assured me he was fixing what Tyler did and that I would be getting all of the discounts and rebates based on the original online order. Just came on here to say THANKS FOR THE 3 DAY ORDEAL TYLER! Next time, be honest and upfront about what your doing.... or at the very least offer to HELP when YOU make a huge mess for a customer. read more

I just figured I would do a quick review for Verizon. We had att and my husband works in dixon and I guess it's a dead spot. He never had service. Some people he works with said Verizon was the best. We walked into Verizon and was greeted and helped by Dominic. I appreciate all the information he had gave us and options that were available. He was never pushy which we love. He talked to us about the phones we were interested in and stayed very patient with us. All our questions were answered without hestiation or needing to find out. We made our decision and switched over and we are more then satisfied! My husband has full service and we both have nice phones that run smooth again. Would leave less than one star if it was possible, showed up at 5:25 store closes at 6 needed to get two new phones (we have been customers for over ten years) the guy told us they're only processing online orders and that he wouldn't be able to help us. If we wanted to purchase something we would have to show up a minimum of an hour prior to closing. None of this info is listed on the website or otherwise so we just wasted a half hour drive both ways to be told even though we showed up prior to close that we were SOL. Worst customer service ever. The two young sales reps that helped me on Sunday 2/17/19 did not listen to my concerns at all. I don't blame them too much because Verizon probably pressures their reps to upsell at whatever means possible. I came in with one goal: To add another line to my family plan so I can upgrade my Iphone 6s to a Samsung S9+ and get the second phone "free" (up to $750 credit). That's it. Their goal: 1) To sell me on an iPhone instead of a Samsung so they can get rid of their iPhone stock quantity (I can only assume this because the girl kept talking about iphones when I specifically said I wanted to switch to a Samsung). A good rep listens to what the customer wants. 2) To sell me insurance and phone case. This is where the guy took over and started pushing me to get insurance. He tried every tactic in the book. Sharing woeful stories of regretful customers who left without buying insurance. Scaring tactic: "If you drop it, you'll end up buying another one full price." Caring tactic: Trying to convince me that he cares about my expensive phone. "I just don't want you to be like one of those that it's happened to." This went on for half an hour!!! I kept nodding and smiling but I could tell he was getting annoyed I wasn't buying it. Bonus story: He said he laughed when a previous customer who didn't buy insurance came in the next day and told him he should've listened. All I could gather from that story was why would you laugh at someone's misfortune...even if you're right? Anyway, a good rep doesn't push to sell and lets the customer decide what they want. What ended up being an hour long ordeal should've been a 15 min experience max. C'mon Verizon, you should know customer service is what brings retention. Stop pressuring your employees to upsell and let them shine. Less focus on pushing sales, more focus on quality service and you will keep my business. read more

These crooks take advantage of the elderly, selling them all sorts of stuff they don't need. They started by telling my family they had a special and when they bought 2 iPhones 6's, they'd get an iPad for $30. We're talking an elderly couple, senior citizens, with English as a second language, and they sold them everything they could under the premise that they need it. They later charged for the full amount of the iPad and iPhones, in addition to the 6gb service plans for them all (they use less than 1Gb combined). My family tried to return the iPad just 15 days after purchase and were told it was too late. Unfortunately I found out about this too late to do anything other than warn others about this crooked Verizon store. Do yourself a favor and go to a different store, these crooks will just try to con you. read more

STAY AWAY!!! GO TO COSTCO !!! I went on line on Tuesday the 19th and made an appointment for Wednesday the 20th and received a text confirmation. I read the information on the website and they indicated I would need a mask and it would be 1 on 1 customer service. I was purposely going to receive customer care and to see the product I was going to purchase. I showed up at noon with a mask and gloves on and was not permitted in the store but was given instructions to go on line and order pick up there. This was a total waste of my time and drive. Yikes! My recent visit to this store was enough to make me reconsider the last 10 years of business with them. I visited this Verizon to cash in on my two year upgrade. I was "helped" by Alyssa, who explained the new way of getting a phone through "edge." She told my boyfriend and I that it would cost no more for me to upgrade, because of the way the program works, and we would even get a data upgrade! Woohoo! It all SOUNDED great. In fact, it sounded a little too great, and we were very skeptical of the deal and asked a lot of questions. Our questions were answered with an eye roll and "that's just the way edge is now." Alyssa repeatedly assured us that it would not cost anything extra. My account technically still has my mom as the "account holder" because we all share data. When my mom checked her bill the next morning, she saw that we were charged for the additional monthly data after all, which was not what we were promised. After two days of dealing with Verizon over the phone and no answers or refunds, I decided to go into the store. I spoke to the manager Chris, who was condescending, unhelpful, and implied that I had misunderstood Alyssa. I tried to explain to him that I knew that I had not misunderstood, because I double checked on multiple occasions that it wouldn't cost more. He refused to deal with me because I was not the primary account holder, even though my mom was not in the store the day I made the purchase. I am extremely unhappy with how both Alyssa and Chris refused to admit that they had offered us an invalid deal. They took no accountablity for their mistake, and instead, put the blame on me. Great cell phone service, but HORRIBLE customer service!!! Dropped my iphone 4 in water and wouldn't turn on. I walked in not knowing if I had insurance, if I would have to upgrade or just buy another phone. They basically told me to go to one of the phones in the store, call the number and file a claim to get a replacement phone - not offering me the option to upgrade or even take the time to let me know what my options were! If Verizon can't give me store credit for a new, unopened Verizon item I bought from a Verizon store awhile back simply because I don't have the receipt on me, then Verizon is lame. I wasn't even asking for cash back or a charge back on a credit card, just store credit. I probably would have been more accepting of this ridiculous corporate policy - seriously, no store credit for a NEW, unopened item? - if it hadn't been for the fact that I had to wait nearly twenty minutes just to get someone to help me out in a fully staffed store which was in no way busy. Sounds odd to have to wait that long in a fully staffed store, but when that store is staffed with quite a few people who are selling phones and you're shunted off to the side (because salespeople "don't handle exchanges") to wait for the ONE busy rep who is designated to handle customer service issues, it's pretty obvious why the wait was nearly twenty minutes. I'm a Verizon customer because although the monthly rates are fairly high, I've always had quick, attentive, and accomodating customer service, both over the phone and in-store. Having to wait for almost twenty minutes in a fully staffed store just to be helped, and then having to wait more minutes while the one customer service guy discussed my "issue" with his manager only to get a "sorry, but NO" at the end of my long wait was completely ridiculous. My time is valuable and that was nearly thirty minutes of it down the corporate toilet. And if you think i'm just ranting because I didn't get my way, know that even had they accomodated my request for store credit I'd still be annoyed at the ridiculous wait. No basic "Retail 101" request should take that long to be resolved in a fully staffed establishment. read more

Let me starts by saying that I love Verizon coverage but I HATE their new "retail" system and how none of their employees can answer any questions but put you on the phone with their different departments. Anything they can tell you is what you can figure out on the app and if you do come in this store "Sergio" an employee of this store, whom I've never seen here before, is condescending, rude and makes me want to go to a different service provider. If you come in this store I hope for your sakes you are not stuck with his rudeness. Verizon would do well training him on how to talk to customers. While in the store he walked by my 14 year old son and said "trying to explain something and she doesn't listen", while I was on the phone with their billing department. When I get back to this store I will never allow him to "half-assed assist" me again. read more

Michael did an incredible job setting us up with our new plan and phones! We had come in the week before and the store had only a few customers. This time it was very busy - oh the ebb and flow of business. We only waited about 10 minutes and spent the time sitting comfortably on their red circular sofa. :) Michael was thorough in explaining the plans, setting up each phone and answering all of our questions. HIs attention to detail was appreciated and we never felt rushed. We later came by to pick out some cases and were helped by Khalia. She was equally personable. I woke up this morning with a notification on my phone that my SIM card was not installed. Panicked, I went online and tried all of the ways suggested to make this go away but had no luck. I decided I'd suck it up and go into a Verizon store to get this fixed. I got to the store right after opening and one of the employees held the door open for me as I entered. I was then greeted by Kai. I told him my problem and he said he could help me with it. He told me this SIM card issue is common with the iPhone and that he most likely could take care of the issue. He ended up replacing my SIM card and everything was as good as new. I was in and out within 5 minutes and my phone was working great again! Kai was very helpful and let me know all of my options if I ever have any issues with my iPhone again and that they're always happy to help. read more

This was the best experience. I switched from being a long-time Sprint customer to Verizon because my needs changed and I would be traveling more and away from Sprint's best areas. My business partner highly recommended Verizon, so in I came. Here, I met Tyler who was easily one of the most knowledgeable and calming influences during what became a trying change from Sprint to Verizon. I spoke to Michael who was very helpful in explaining the differences, he even went and got a galaxy out of the box because they didn't have one on the floor. The sales man was only worried about making a sale instead of providing me with what I really wanted. When making a return the manager was not willing to help me out or accommodate me with the problem I had. He had the power to waive a fee and told me "it's bad for business to waive it." I replied with, "it's bad for business to have your customer unhappy." He response with a half hearted "sorry" ‍. I was so upset with the customer service over Verizon wireless. Tl;dr : Avoid this store, and always, always, always check your receipt! They are running a scam. BEWARE!!! Scam artists, as you can see from some previous reviews. Here's what happened. On February 2, I went in to get a new iPhone 6s. They were doing a promotion where if you buy an iPhone, you can get an iPad for $200 off, with a 2 year activation required. Roxy explained to me (in front of my boyfriend), that if I got the iPad mini 4 32GB with a two year activation, it would normally be $379, with $200 off. Wow! I wasn't in the market for one, but sure. So I got it, with some accessories. I got my receipt via e-mail, and saw a charge for $529, the full price of the device, as if I had bought it as is, without 2 year activation or promotion. I called the store's phone number, which went to a Verizon call center. The guy on the phone just kept talking in circles. He claimed that there is "no such thing as a 2 year contract on an iPad". When I presented evidence on the contrary, he back tracked. The issue was not resolved on the phone with that guy, so I went back to the store today. So I go in, and the guy at the front tells me that I "didn't take advantage of the $200 that day". Excuse me? Yeah, I just didn't wanna take $200 of my bill. Ok then. Also the ad for it says "instant savings". Finally the guy tells me, yeah, Roxy did "accidentally" charge you $529. So buyer beware: check your receipt!!! Double check everything, call and confirm, and get documentation. He does a price adjustment, and the price comes out to $279. I brought him over to the devices, where I showed him (I will attach the pictures) that with a 2 year activation the price of the device is $379, minus $200 with the promotion. He said that I must have "misunderstood" Roxy. Obviously upset by this, he also backtracked and said there must have been a "miscommunication". He just kept saying that word over and over. He made absolutely no attempt to try to get an additional discount or way to resolve it. He told me I could get a lesser product (an iPad mini 2, less GB and a "smaller processor") for about $50 cheaper. No, I want the price I was quoted. I tell him that I will just bring it back and return it. I brought it back, and still at this point he makes literally zero attempt to try to find another deal or keep me as a customer. Also, even though he explained his situation to the manager, the manager at no point came up to talk to us. The kicker of the story to me is that even though it was proven that Roxy made a "mistake" by charging me the FULL price of the device activation, he still continued to imply that it was my fault for misunderstanding the promotion. He then defended her, stating that she had a "50/50 chance of pressing the wrong button" and not applying the discount. Hmmm, maybe if the probability is that high, there should be some sort of procedure in place to prevent that from happening. No, maybe you should make sure your employees either explain things clearly, or see if this is something they're doing on purpose. I even pointed out that had I not checked my receipt, I would have been SOL. Read the fine print! Do not just listen to the salesperson. What a rookie mistake I made by just taking her word for it! I did not read the fine print, how dumb of me, because I trusted the salesperson. Avoid this store! read more

The people that work here are very friendly, the wait is always extremely long, I was unsatisfied with my last trip in. Apparently they have horrible Wi-Fi connection and can't connect half of the time so they sent me home with a printed out piece of paper on directions to download an app once I got home so that I could transfer all of my contacts back to my new phone. Which by the way was terribly difficult and the directions on the paper were not accurate. I actually had to YouTube how to transfer contacts over . This is ridiculous and I cannot believe it has not been fixed. I will travel to go to another Verizon store that actually has Wi-Fi. I think this is so ridiculous it's almost like a car dealership not being able to connect to the loan agent and Banks to try and get people approved for a vehicle. I went to Verizon on March 17, 2018 to get service for WiFi in my car. My car's owners manual states that the vehicle is WiFi ready, owner must buy a service plan. The sales clerk told me the only way was for me to use a HUM device that is similarly to On Star. I agreed even though I was doubtful about the whole issue. The sales clerk plugged one part of the device into my UBD port under the dash. After a couple of days the device would not staty connect so I took it back. They claimed to not know anything about why it would not connect and to contact HUM. I did and they could not help. So back to the store I went. Finally someone in the store said they know what to do. The female representative from the store came out to my car and somehow got the thing to connect to the internet. A month later I got a phone call from Verizon saying that my credit card declined my payment for service. I think it had been compromised and was replaced. I gave them the details for a new card and they said everything was fine and my account was paid. As time passed the connection to the internet in my car was inconsistent at best. Because I stay pretty busy I had not taken the time to address the issue. One day about 8-9 months later I received a call from Verizon saying I owed them $300 dollars. When I asked what it was for, the representative on the other side of the phone said she did not know. I explained that if I am going to pay $300 for something I at least need to know what it is. Almost exactly a year later I took my car into the dealership for routine maintenance. The Service Manager called me and said that he had bad news for me. He said they could not update the software on the infotainment system because the UBD port was damaged. He further explained that he could not just replace the port but rather they had to remove the dash board and replace the entire wiring harness that connects to the UBD port because it is only sold from the manufacture as one unit. He explained that it would cost $5,800. He said that if Verizon installed the HUM device they should pay for the repairs because the pins (male end) on the device were bigger than the female ends and it seems the device was forced on and it caused damage to the port. I took the device and the car to the Verizon store. After playing games with me for two hours on the phone with HUM and Verizon Customer Care, the Manager Jose said that they closed my account one month after I opened it due to non payment. They did not want to help me because my account was delinquent and had been sent to collections. If I had been given a call explaining that my account was unpaid and that I need to fix it after the call I mentioned earlier, I would have been glad to do so. The amount due each month was negligible ($20). How could they let that happen? The HUM device is garbage and you should not get one installed in your car! Verizon Owens HUM and sell them in their stores. They know the HUM device is causing damage to cars because when I explained what happened they know exactly what I was talking about and tried to say I must have kicked it when getting in or out of my car. This Verizon store is dishonest and they do not honor the products they sell. They have poor customer service when they are wrong as they will play games with you instead of helping you. Xavier is amazing! He helped my grandmother get her new phone and handled all the problems with her old one so sweetly. He was very patient and kind and listened to all of her unnecessary rambling. Xavier was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and kind through the whole process. Normally I hate phone stores but when her new phone came in I went straight to the store and asked for Xavier and he helped walk me through the process and all my questions of setting up my grandmothers new phone for her.
