Okay, so I ended up having to replace my phone because I dropped it in a sink of water when I was house sitting. In December. Lost all my photos and music. It was a sad day. Fast forward two months, and it's barely keeping a charge and doing goofy things. Like calling my ex. Eek! I was still a month away from renewing my contract and desperate. As it turned out, I could change my contact, get a new phone that was priced into my monthly fee, and lose my unlimited data, all in one step. Who could resist? Oh, Verizon. After arriving shortly after they opened, I waited for an associate while checking out their selection of toys. I mean phones. Found an awesome Motorola that is smaller than my old one and it is red. Devilish. By the time Juan approached me to assist, I had my heart set on that phone. Juan was great at processing the sale and setting up my new purchase. The whole ordeal took about an hour, which seems long but he was very thorough. So, not entirely bad. By the time I left, I was happy. And Juan downloaded an app that got me a free smoothie from Jamba Juice. Score! The one entertaining aspect of this experience was witnessing all the angry white people. Silly crackers. Oh, Verizon. I'm seriously shocked that there are not more neg reviews on here about this place because I hear people bitching all the time. First of all, do not expect to make a quick 'in-and-out' experience. You walk in and put your name on the List.. yes, list with a capital L. What is interesting is they ask you what your question/comment/concern is but when you finally get called five hours later, they ask you to explain your question/comment/concern all over again. Let's just say you have a Blackberry Pearl 8130 and the roller ball does not work anymore. Hypothetically, of course. So the highly skilled guy behind the counter looks at it for 2 seconds and says "Oh, looks like it needs to be replaced..." I'm pretty sure I already said that. "Unfortunately, we don't have any of these in stock.." Wha? Come again? You don't have any more of one of your most popular phones in stock, in any of the 542 colors it comes in? Boy oh Boy. This is by far the worst Verizon I have ever tried to go to. I scheduled an appointment to look at Apple watches but when I got there the security guard started coming at me aggressively and said I wouldn't be aloud in because they aren't showing watches right now. I also had a few questions regarding how my device dollars and a coupon code would work but Diego was not having It. Every time I tried to talk he would interrupt me. I just asked to come buy an Apple Watch and said my appointment didn't show up on his side. There was 4 associates inside sitting and laughing with each other doing nothing. Yet I was not aloud in the store. I asked him to help me make another appointment since clearly everybody working there was free but he said I couldn't come in for 2 weeks. We went to this location on my son's 12th birthday to get him a phone. We were told there was an hour wait so we waited and watched as 4 people that came in after us were helped. There was only 1 customer service girl working & a man in the front checking people in. He had no interest in helping the other employee. He stood there playing games on his phone. As the customer service lady was helping a couple that came in 30 mins after us, we over heard her talking about what phones they didn't have in stalk. Of course the only one my son was interested in they didn't have. I did call The Verizon number & asked ahead of time & he guaranteed all iPhones were in stock. I feel like the guy who is the greeter in the front should be asking questions & maybe notify the customer who plans on waiting an hr or longer if the phone is available. read more

I'm really surprised that the other reviewers had such a bad time in this store. My last carrier was Alltel, and Verizon gobbled them up this year. Being a cell phone owner since the days when they came in a bag like a heavy small carry-on bag, I have to say I HAVE NEVER HAD A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE IN A CELL PHONE STORE BEFORE. EVAH. I've had a Treo for many years. Last year, I dropped the phone and broke the screen. Went into the Alltel store and they literally said to me, "sorry you're screwed; we don't replace screens; you have no insurance; you're still under contract" - so my only solution was to buy a new one for $600 according to the very harried and unpleasant rotund pimply fellow at the Alltel store. Methinks there must be another way! So I got on line and found this PDAparts.com for replacement screens. They warn you: this voids any warranty!!! But it was "only" $70 so I went for it. They actually have a step-by-step video posted on YouTube on how to replace the screen. Scary, but my trusty friend/co-worker Chris is an engineer so he did the dirty work for me in about 5 minutes flat. YAY. Phone worked perfectly until.... one day... the screen just went blank. So I'm hosed now right? And it's December. The phone technically still WORKED, as in: it rings, and I can fumble to answer it... but I can't see who's calling or who is texting me or make calls... or read my emails... so it was kinda limiting. So with much trepidation I wandered myself over to the Verizon store on Camelback, figuring I was now only 1 month away from the end of my contract and maybe I just had to bite the bullet and switch to a new phone. They don't make the Treo 755p anymore, and I really didn't want to learn how to use a whole new phone... too busy. But I guess I gotta. So you walk in and they ask you: do you need service or sales, and what's your name? Service... Jane. They put you on a list which is on a big monitor, and tell you: you are 4th in line for service. Sigh... look around... and not 5 minutes later, I'm called up. The very friendly and CUTE guy who helped me took a look and agreed, the screen is fried. Do you want to pick out a new phone today, or can you wait a few days to get a refurbished 755p? Huh? I could get another 755p? Yes we will replace your phone but we don't have them HERE so you'd have to wait a few days. Um... okay... I guess I can wait, but, how much will that cost? "Oh, it'll be free." FREE? Sold! The people working there were joking around with each other, easy going and super helpful. There were other people in the store who were clearly stressed and in a bad mood, and from what I observed these folks were super-great at defusing them. Something good is going on at that shop and based on my experience (a) I highly recommend them; and (b) I'm sticking with Verizon! read more

"Someone will be with you in just second", we've heard before, right? I get so tired of it, that now I'm calling people on it...are you serious? As soon as I said "a second's up", BOOM, there's Dave, in my face...cool! It helped being there on a weekday evening, for the weekends are packed. Anywho, I was promptly helped with my data useage issue, and explained how the hotspot I was setting my tablet up for was NOT the culprit, but my laptop that was connected to it and all the many apps that it was running...made sense to me, but now what? I'm maxing out my data and I'm eatin' up the kilobytes like a cockroach in a C rated soup kitchen! It was suggested I call customer care, explain my delema, and plead for mercy. Only four stars, for now anyways...last week, I came in for a power cord/connection issue on my Android, and got shued away. Was made to think my only solution was suck it up and wait until next month when my contract was ready to renew...I was THAT CLOSE to going to the AT&T store! Worst experience at a Verizon store I've ever had! The man who helped me was one of the rudest people I have ever dealt with in my life. He was rude from the very beginning before he even asked for my name. He then goes to tell me a number can't be upgraded which I called Verizon and confirmed that was a LIE. They told me it just takes a few extra steps which he absolutely could have helped me in the store. You could tell he didn't even want to pretend to help come up with a solution. I cannot believe Verizon lets their employees to treat their customers this way. I went to this store because I was running errands in that area. The guy in the front was very nice and passed me off to Jen. Jen started off with a bad attitude and made it feel like I was bothering her. I told her I needed a new phone(I dropped mine and it won't turn on)and she interrupted rudely asking for my ID and phone number. Long story short I didn't have an upgrade and was trying to get rid of me. She refused to show me any upgrade pricing like I wasn't privy to that information. I spoke with a nice lady on the phone from Verizon and I had a Verizon Edge upgrade or I could use the insurance. Jen DIDN'T offer any of those options. I have been a decades-long-time Verizon customer, and the services have been okay. However, last March 2021, I upgraded my phone with $300 off the total purchase price. But then Verizon charged me full price; when I contacted them, they said I would be given credit instead. After six months and several online chats, lasting several hours sometimes, Verizon refused to honor the credit. Our contract will be up next year, and we will switch to a new carrier. read more

We had a very nice girl from Verizon come to our door and ended up trying out the Verizon 5G internet service. We understood that if there was an issue, we could contact her directly. This was true, to some extent, we had an issue, and we contacted her directly. She gave us the tech support number, so not as much help as we expected. No one at tech support could diagnose the reason we couldn't get internet with their device. We spent an hour on the initial calls going through all the same routines (unplug, wait, check, repeat . . .) even after the issue was escalated to an "supervisor expert". They said they would put in a ticket, and we never heard from them again. So, we called the original salesperson again, she said she would have her tech expert get right on it. Nothing happened. I finally called a week later to cancel the service and return the device because it simply didn't work, again a very nice person tried to help me. She told me I needed to agree to the disclosure she would read me. She read me the instructions Verizon supplied to her, not a disclosure. When I pointed this out, she apologized and read me the disclosure for canceling phone service. I, again, pointed out that what she was reading was inappropriate to my request and I would go in to the store and cancel service and return the device. Another wasted hour of my time. The store employees were not quite as friendly as their telephone customer service counterparts. I was ignore at the door, although there wasn't another person in line, and the employees were talking to each other. When they didn't acknowledge me after several minutes, I went past them to look for help. Then they, called "hey, wait to be checked in." Another 35 minutes of wasted time, they couldn't cancel nor take the device back at the store. They had Customer service call me. A very nice guy., Philip, canceled the service, but try as he may, could not generate a shipping label. I was transferred 3 additional times and the said the would mail me one, should take about a week. Needless to say, after being a Verizon customer for 37 years, I'm very unhappy with their lake of service. I've never received such bad customer service in my life and once a waiter dropped a whole pitcher of water on my guests. After spending two full days and over 50 dollars in uber rides, my roommate and I went to get her ALL READY PAYED FOR iPhone X. Once we arrived to the store, a sales rep named Jen was very rude to us before we even explained our situation. She was snappy and unhelpful and overall just rude. With countless sales reps there, you would think someone else could help us. But no, therefore I decided to go get a Jamba Juice which was next door to Verizon. Verizon closes at 7 and I came back at 7 while my roommate was still getting helped. Jen then came to the door and mouthed something to me which I found very disrespectful and she locked me outside of the Verizon. It was not like I was a new customer. I was waiting for my roommate as she needed a new phone because hers was broken to the point she couldn't open it. They made me sit outside in a bad area for 30 minutes. I then called Verizon customer service to complain. My roommate later informed me that they still were rude to her during the time I was locked out. All the employees were chatting and just playing on their phones. She ended up not getting her iPhone and we both went home and came back the next day. When we came back, jen and her coworkers had gossiped about everything that had happened. Each employee treated us with disrespect and said "oh your the ones" We still didn't get her iPhone and jen was very rude to my roommates father on the phone. The father spent so much time talking to customer service and each time customer service said the store was being ridiculous and should have helped us. We then came back again and were treated badly again until Vanessa helped us. If you for some reason have to come to this store I urge you to go to vanessa. She was friendly and fantastic. I don't know how this store is still open as so many customers had similar issues and all the reviews on here are horrible. Something really needs to be done as we have spent a total of 5 hours here and the store put us in danger, neglected us, gossiped about us and laughed, and wasted our money. If I could give 0 stars I would; worst customer service EVER... I purchased an iPhone 8 Plus for $800 and it had a faulty home button that cracked. That voids the warranty and they won't do anything about it. Absolutely absurd with how long I've been a customer and how much money I spend with them. I will NEVER do business with this location again and I'm seriously considering dropping Verizon and going to another service provider. Manager and staff completely unhelpful and uncaring. **Update** I went to the Apple Store at the Biltmore not more than an hour after I left this Verizon store and they had no issues helping me and replacing my iPhone that I purchased THROUGH Verizon. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a phone store. I was convinced to take a "free" Google home that I would later receive a rebate for. Over a month later, and several rebate submissions later I am still being told it is under review. I will never see that money. I worked only with Tania who promised me she would take personal care to see that things worked out. That same day I also went home with a phone bill of $464 including upgrade charges and a two year contract that were never mentioned to me at the store. I wish I had gotten a warning. Loyalty is dead in the United States. I've been a continuous customer with Verizon for 14 years. I realize their business model has changed and in 2015 I received my last free iPhone. I broke my screen a week ago and wanted to trade it in but to get 50% off an 8 or 10 my phone needs to be fixed. I asked if the could cut me a deal since I have been a customer for so long. I don't have the insurance, but the manager through the sales girl said if I had the insurance then they could have done something for me. Well, no shit, I could have had the screen fixed and gotten 50% off the new phone. So dissatisfied, low balling the average, I have paid them $10,000 for their services over the last 14 years. VZW needs to provide a public bathroom as the avg. wait time is over 20 min. I've visited probably a dozen times, even once had to wait in line just to speak to a greeter/screener. In balance, however, once you do finish waiting they know their stuff. My last 3 visits I've had complicated technical questions, w/ 3 separate employees who were quite helpful. If you're a gov't employee be sure to bring in your badge or a paystub to have them implement your discounted billing rate (plus 25% discount on some accessories). Be sure to test accessories quickly, as there's only a 14-day return policy. My initial selection of a Plantronics Edge Bluetooth earpiece that didn't work well w/ my BlackBerry Q10 set in motion a yet unfinished chain of accessory purchases & exchanges which would have been much worse w/o the knowledgeable in-store tech support. read more

My experience here was.....ok. The guy at the counter was friendly enough (although not overly talkative). I had called previously to inquire about upgrading my old blackberry to the new iphone 4. They had them in stock, and the guy told me he'd set one aside and i could come in and pick it up after work. I had originally planned to just order one online (I was due for an upgrade), but didn't want to wait for it to arrive by mail....instant gratification was key. So i went to the store, but had already researched what type of service and features I wanted to include. I told the guy that I wanted to add Rhapsody, but asked him if he could explain how it worked first (for those that don't know, it's supposed to be a $10/month music download program - unlimited tunes). He was quick to state "oh, that's not available on the iphone"....confused, I asked why it was offered in the package online then. He was adamant that it was not a feature available to the iphone, until I asked him to research it.....Whaddaya know. It WAS available. He said nothing and we moved on. Next, he asked if I wanted insurance. I said no, but i wanted the extended warranty for $1.99/month. He stated again "that's not available with this phone". AGAIN, i asked why it was offered online. He said it probably wouldn't have let me check out with it.....and then clicked a little button, and low and behold...it let him add the extended warranty. I then informed him that I wanted to reduce my minutes from 900 to 450, since i have not gone over the 450 in over 6 months....He looked at my account and said that i should absolutely stay with the 900 minutes because I would definitely go over. Mind you, I had just checked my account earlier in the day, so I knew where I stood. He told me that I was already at 380 minutes, and I would have to pay extra for any minutes I went over. I looked at him for a minute....then told him that since my cycle restarted tomorrow,...I was clearly still going to be ok. He said nothing and kept going. He then asked me if I wanted to look at cases and I said no because I had already found a specialty one online that I planned to order. He stated that I should definitely look at their selection first, because they had a ton to choose from and could probably get me discount. So I said ok and he walked me over to their turnstile....with a total of 8 choices (and three of them were variations of black). When I asked what the discount was, he said he could get me a discount....if i bought a package that included about 5 other things that i didnt even need or want..... Overall, he was nice and I got the phone and plan i wanted....but only because I had researched it myself. Don't expect them to know what they're talking about, and go prepared! read more

I ordered a phone online from work and went to pick it up. Unfortunately I've lost my license and have a paper copy from the DMV. The manager said they couldn't accept a paper copy. I made an extra trip leaving work at lunch to give them my business. I can understand the policy but the manager didn't even attempt to sympathize with me or call corporate. They said that's the policy and shuffled me out the door. I've been with Verizon 15 years now and their customer service has gone to shit because they're making so much money. That's how they made me feel in store. It also goes to show that they don't trust these little kids with no education or customer service running the store to make an executive decision. First I want to say I love you Bob... I really do. While hosting a party at the art gallery I got a bit handsy/button pushingsy (no those are not real words but they explain the situation) with my blackberry. I am not technology driven. I wasn't even alcohol driven I have no excuse whatsoever. However, I somehow managed to erase seven months of my child's life in one fell swoop or button push. I immediately wanted to fall into the fetal position and cry a river of tears (or at least a small pool or jacuzzi.) I, the non-stop talker, was speechless. As all the color drained from my face my friend asked what was wrong, and luckily she had her fourteen year old son with her (technology wizards) and he was able to convince me to live until I could get to the Verizon store to have them try to retrieve my photos. This all happened on a Friday night. I was so terrified that they would fail that it took me until Monday to work up the courage to go to the store. I had worked up an ulcer the size of a quarter, and when I went to the store on Camelback and 16th Street at first I was thinking... well I can't write what I was thinking but the store had moved. The store was located between a mattress store and Baja Fresh. It was small, cramped, and always seemed stressful. I am happy to say it just jumped over to where a video store was located and is in the same general vicinity. Luckily my five year old was wearing her glasses and wanted juice so we spotted it. The new store, now next to Jamba Juice, has a new vibe. It is larger, spacious, and seems more friendly and relaxed. I was seen with very little delay. This is where the hero of the story comes in. Bob, Bob, Bob the name rolls off my tongue like a... well, I can't quite think of something that rolls off my tongue but Bob was the man who worked and worked on my phone and got all my pictures back. He saved my life, okay not my life, but the photos of my sweet girl and for that I am very grateful. So if you are in that area and have a Verizon phone you need to deal with, this is the store I would recommend. And be sure to tell Bob hello. read more

Bait and switch at it's finest. After 10+ years of patronage to Verizon, my bill randomly increased by $20/month for unlimited data that I had been grandfathered into years ago. I visit this location in hopes of reducing my monthly commitment. The rep/sales guy/whatever recommends a plan with a very low data limit, but taking advantage of a promotion they are running that give "2GB free data for 3 months" for downloading the "Go90" app. It wasn't the plan I had walked into the store planning to switch to, but sounded great since my main objective was to save money. On this guy's recommendation, I set a reminder in my phone for the first day of my new cycle to download the app and get my 2GB additional data. Fast forward to the first day of the new cycle: I download the app and am reading through the confirmation email/policies and there is no mention of free data. Two horrible phone calls with customer service later I find out the promotion expired shortly after I visited the store and I was now stuck with an inferior plan with a much higher fist month bill because apparently they bill a month in advance, and beyond that- hardly the savings I was promised in store for the months to follow. Thanks, crummy rep/sales guy/whatever- had I known it would have ended up like this I wouldn't have bothered. I have now forfeited my previous plan for a lesser product at a similar price. Every customer service person I spoke with just gave me a half-hearted, pre-scripted response with no solution in the end. So, all that being said, I am actually looking forward to the hassle of shopping for a new provider so I (#1) never have to deal with Verizon again and (#2) can stop supporting a bunch of crooks. The personnel at this company have the authority to promise one thing and deliver another, but no authority to correct their own mistakes/false promises. read more
