Talk about fast service! I went in to see if they could fix my friend's LG chocolate phone that was acting completely possessed. Someone immediately assisted us in getting checked in and right as we were walking around the corner of the store where the Customer Service desk was, a service rep. called out. He listens to us about the phone's issues and sees that the phone's running on old software. He says updating the software will take about an hour. We come back about an hour later and find out the person helping us was on break so we stop by Petco across the way to kill an extra few minutes. When we come back he tells us the phone crashed in the middle of the update and hands my friend a brand spankin' new LG phone! He didn't have to mail out his phone or anything! No questions asked. They couldn't save his pictures/text messages but they transferred over all his contacts to the new phone. The service was fast and efficient here. There's always someone at the door to greet you and assist you. It's different from any other Verizon store I've been to! They actually have enough people working here and there's no waiting line out the door. read more

Verizon,.. You're Fired! I have to say that after 14 years as a Verizon customer (Airtouch Cellular previously) I am completely disappointed with the TERRIBLE treatment I have received both from this store AND FROM THEIR CORPORATE STAFF. Let me also share that my average bill with Verizon is $180.00 per month and has been at that level for many years. I spend a heck of a lot of money with these guys not including equipment. To me, that should make me a valuable customer and in my company, you would receive excellent treatement for paying those monthly rates. It began with this Blackberry Pearl phone which has been problematic since shortly after I purchased it. I got it when they were a hot item and Brand New, a mistake I no longer make with cell phones. I had so many issues and they gave me the three refurbished phones, which all had other issues. Then a supposidly brand new phone which also had issues. I went to their store 3 times, and you always have to wait, even if you already wasted an hour waiting the day before, you're still put into the queque as if you are a new visitor (even though the manager is just standing around, like why can't he help out??? It's below him or something???) After not finding resolution at the store, I then call customer service. They were nicer on the phone and eventually agreed to send me a new phone but when that arrived it still had issues. Miraculously after another couple of calls the phone pretty much started working. I don't know if there was a glitch in the programming or what but it mainly worked after all of that. Over the past few days however, the issues seem to be resuming. My other issue, which begain in April of 2009, is that my company has a large employer discount with Verizon. I am supposed to receive a discount of 10% of the monthly service fees because of our relationship. Since April 2009 I've tried to get this discount. I've completed their on line process no less than 4 times over the months and called in to customer service to follow up and they have never issued the discount. I've received numerous emails to my corporate account confirming that I've completed the process but no discounts have ever been applied. After 14-years, I deserve a 10% discount regardless and the fact that my company has a deal. But the fact that they didn't even honor their arrangement with my company is simply pathetic!!! With all of these issues, I reached out to their customer service department and wrote a complaint. The gave me like a $30.00 adjustment to one bill because the email, text and picture messaging didn't work but nothing else. In fact, they didn't even respond to that part of my complaint. Let me say that prior to my complaint, I had about 6-months of consistent issues with my cell phone which I use for business. I had clients and friends upset because I wasn't responding to their calls and all of this was due to equipment failure and Verizon WL. I wonder how much this cost me in actual business due to delays or missed information. I am now out of contract for both of my lines and considering other companies. Part of me thinks, just stay with them, they have excellent coverage. Then I realize why some clients stay with my business competitors even though they don't provide proper customer service, and how wrong that is. Let's be honest, it is expensive to switch and you aren't really sure what you're going to get with the next company but isn't that like staying in an abusive relationship just because you don't know what the next person will be like? After 14 years and tens of thousands of dollars not only do I deserve better but I am confident that I will get it. I just had the best phone experience I ever have had!! JOSH was my guy and he was amazing. I can see why they brought him over new to this store. He is classy, professional, quick, knowledgeable, and VERY kind. They are lucky to have him. He helped me chose the Iphone 7 and if I don't like it - then I really love that I can come in 2 weeks to switch this out. The customer service here is horrible. The employees seem like they are in a comatose zombie state of mind and could really give a rats ass about your situation. Seems like all they want to do is upgrade you or waste your time. I have the extended warranty and less than a year on my phone and was told after a long wait that I had to call technical support. If you value time do not visit this store. In fact this was the straw that broke the camels back for me I'm leaving Verizon for good. Worst Verizon experience ever! I went in because my phone was not turning all the way on. I got stuck with Desiree, who made it very apparent she did not want to help. After being torn away from playing with a coworker's hair she greeted me with a "what's up?". Then before even looking at my phone or looking up my account, she told me that my warranty was up and there was nothing that could be done. Once I got her to look up my account she could only offer me a phone number to make a claim to get a new phone. When I asked about just buying a new phone, she let me know that they were too expensive and I should check ebay, because "that's what a lot of people are doing." In the end I asked "So what you're telling me is that you are not going to help me?" Desiree offered another phone number to call... ironic, because I don't have a working phone. Yes, this was the only time I had a negative experience with Verizon, but it was definitely enough for me to not ever go back to that store again... and even consider changing phone carriers. read more

From 0 to 60 in 30 minutes! I'm writing this review to give my thanks to the guys at the Verizon store in Del Mar on Via de la Valle. I tried out the Droid X from Verizon last month, and ended up going with the HTC Evo 4G from Sprint--and this review is about the customer service I received at the Verizon store in Del Mar when I attempted to return my Droid X to their store. When I went into the Del Mar store last week to return my Droid X, I was at first met with "Oh, we can't take that back here. You have to return your phone by mail." Now, I was a bit irked to hear this, because I had just spoken to a Verizon rep over the phone, and they told me that I could bring it into any store for a refund. Conflicting stories? Unequivocally. To test their resolve, I asked to be put on the "The List." What is "The List," you might ask? I'll try to explain. Verizon Stores are set up in a manner similar to the DMV in that you walk in, take a number, and wait for your turn by watching a waiting list on a tv monitor in the store. There's even a bouncer waiting by the list to respond to your questions. The bouncer that spoke to me was a bit curt in his reply, "Someone will be with you in a moment." It seemed to me like he practiced that one in the mirror. He was a bit too quick to respond, and repeated it in the same tone and cadence when I tried a different tack. Now, the reason I gave this store a 4 star review is due to the excellent, friendly service I received from my sales rep, whose name, if I recall, is David. He didn't give me any beef about returning the phone in the store, and promptly took my phone from me, and nicely answered my final questions as I gave one strong final consideration for keeping my Droid X over the Evo 4G. He was very patient as I deliberated and asked for his input for about 20 minutes. He even showed me a few similar Verizon-carried HTC models and talked with me about the pros and cons of each. This is what I call customer service! Even though I still decided to go ahead and return the Droid X, I have nothing bad to say about the phone. I just liked the features of HTC's Sense User Interface over Motorola's Motoblur UI. Feature for feature, the hardware inside the Droid X and HTC Evo are almost identical, so this was a hard decision to make. David from Del Mar's Verizon Store was friendly and knows his stuff. I recently needed to replace my iPhone. Service was okay. But I had to go home and transfer the data from old to new phone. Today, I got new screensaver. The Verizon people know how to install the screen savers without bubbles and perfectly aligned. So, I went to the store and they refused to assist because it wasn't critical given COVID. Time to look for another carrier. I have 4 phones with them and 3 tablets spend $400 monthly. Plus service at my house sucks. read more

I cant say enough about this store. I have used them for many years and gone thru many many phones and they always go above and beyond. Today, Hana helped me out and went above. My charger port wasn't working and wasn't charging my Samsung galaxy, I had problems with the port on my last model also. She was just going to activate one of my other phones that I had at home for the couple days until I get my new phone in, but because of the impending order, it wouldn't let her so she went and found another phone for me and activated it, downloaded all my contacts and I left within 45 mins with a new phone to use until my new phone gets here. Thank you cell phone gods for corporate Verizon stores. Was trying to get a new phone activated for my line for the past week and they took care of me without a hitch. There was a bit of a wait as it was a weekend and I had to wait for an employee to free up to help me (like the genius bar at an apple store) but once I was up, I was out in probably 5 minutes. Tip: If you need a new SIM card for whatever reason, come to this store (or any CORPORATE Verizon store) and they won't charge you for one. Not sure why, but other regular retail locations tried to charge me $10. read more

I had to go and upgrade my phone...I got in quickly which was great - store was quiet and clean but I got wrong information about insurance cost on my phone. I was quoted one price ($5 per month) but later discovered that I'm paying more ($15 per month). Also I just can't stand the Verizon automated phone system to customer service. It's just the worst and impossible to get through to a real live agent. Very frustrating. And if you do get to a person, they charge "$7 agent assist fee." Terrible!! read more

I came in to upgrade my phone after speaking to the manager over the phone. She recommended I see Mary when I come in. Mary was initially very friendly and promised me a great deal with the upgrade and to lower my monthly fees. Of course I was happy to hear that. She started the process and was continuously going back and forth between tthe floor and the back office. This process began in the morning and lasted an unbelievable 4 hours. By the time I got out I was exhausted and my head was spinning. She was very pushy when I declined some of her suggestions for purchasing insurance and other add-ons. When I arrived home I began reviewing what she had put together for me. She saddled me with services I did not need, changed my plan to exclude services I was receiving previously and made a mess out if my account. The next day my wife came in to ask some questions and Mary had the audacity to say she did not remember who I was....really? After spending 4 hours doing her used car sales act for 4 hours the day before. As I look back I know now that she played me like a fiddle and she enacted mostly self-serving changes in my service contract. Here I am weeks after coming in still trying to unravel her mess. Do not be fooled by Mary's friendliness and smile. She is just after your pocket book. Worse experience ever! read more

Hi just want to warn "ALL" Verizon wireless living in San Diego, Ca area. BEWARE: Verizon wireless phone network is no longer good compare to the early yr. 2000. I have been reaching out to Verizon tech support and customer service about my long on-going problem with their cell phone line network. I would be talking to someone and got disconnected multiple times, can't even finish my call, and got drop calls all the time inside my home in Del Mar/Carmel Valley area in San Diego, ,ca. My iphone 8 indicated that I only have 1-2 bars signal opposed to 4 bars. I have been trying to reach out to tech support of Verizon wireless @ 1-800-922-0204 for the last month, they kept telling me that there was a "service interruption" in my area and may need a "network extender" to improve my cell phone line service. I have inquired how do i get them. Verizon said that they are out of stock and to keep calling them every few weeks to see if it is available. I don't know about other verizon wireless customer if they have this problem as well. I know my friends in the Torrance , LA area have the same issue with their Verizon phone network. I have been with Verizon since early year 2000's and never had issues like this. But because my patience have reach the end of the rope. I am getting ready to switch to a difference phone company who I hope will give me a decent phone line network. Sorry Verizon, I hope in the future you guys will invest more on improving your network in the San Diego, Ca area. I'm really disappointed. read more

This place is a joke. Nice, large premises with few employees out front. Wait times are extremely long. I have been there twice and in each case there were about 4 other customers in the mostly empty store. The receptionist quoted wait times of 30-50 minutes. On one occasion I actually waited that long only to see employees sneak out of the back room, take a quick peek around and go back into hiding. The second time I did not bother waiting around and went to the Rancho Penasquitos store instead where the wait time was less than 5 minutes with approximately 10 times as many customers in the store. read more

This place sucks! Never go here for walk in especially. They will tell you that the wait is only 30-45 mins but you will wait for at least 2 hours. You will see other people come in without appointment but they will still get them first before you. Greg and the management team here provided possibly the best customer service I have received at a cell phone store. They assisted me in getting a cell phone after I lost my previous phone while reading at Mission Bay. Greg had to repeatedly call Verizon Customer Assistance over the course of three hours due to me being a previous customer and the system going down. He did not complain at all and we actually had a pretty good conversation while we waited. read more

verizon rocks my world....specifically, free in-network calling does that rockin'. it allowed me to have a 13.5hr phone conversation with a buddy (yes, 13.5hrs...yes, there were a few 20minute breaks for battery charging), it allows me to have free 3-way calls with my BFFs, it allows me to keep in touch for FREE (or rather, for a low monthly cost :P) with all my badass best friends from coast to coast...what's not to love?! This has to be the worst Verizon store I have ever been in! The staff including the manager was combative and argumentative with a multitude of customer including myself. I was in the store for nearly 2 hours to be helped for 3 minutes for something they wouldn't even help me with. There were a total of 4 people that were helped before me. I want to thank Desiree at this store. She was so patient and really helped me... my awkward and dramatic situation. My cell phone plan was under my ex's name and he kept turning my phone off randomly and at the worst times just to be controlling. Especially when I needed my phone the most. Communicating with this man was impossible. Desiree called him and convinced him to release my line so I could have it under my name, I realize without knowing the whole situation I'm sure your thinking no big deal...I never wanted to talk to this jerk again, Desiree under stood that and switched my line and changed my number and I didn't even have to speak with him. This is the WORST Verizon store I've ever visited. I stopped going there for phone/bill service because of past experiences. Today, I just stopped in to quickly grab a phone charger. I walked in and helped myself, then went to a counter/check out terminal with a person that was NOT assisting another customer. I stood there for 4 minutes and this person seated behind the counter did not even look up and acknowledge my presence or say something like "I'll be right with you" as she huddled over a keyboard intentionally ignoring me. To my shock I noticed the title 'Manager' on her name tag. I couldn't believe what I was experiencing, put the charger on the counter and left. My ONLY trip back there will be to get the name of that pathetic Manager so I can pass this on to Verizon corporate. DO NOT waste your time here for any level of service! read more

Service at Verizon Stores are hit and miss, but normally not great in my experience. I have had instances where I had to go here to get a replacement device or bring one to get activated because Verizon Wireless couldn't do it over the phone and they honestly cannot get their stuff together on the same page. What's worst is the sales people try to sell devices and services that they don't fully understand. My first time I was there I went because I ported my number from AT&T, but the phone a Droid Charge they sent me would not activate. They basically misinformed me that it would work within 20 minutes and I stayed there for a good 3 hours for them to try to figure out what the hell was going on. I ended up walking out with a device that didn't work and it stayed that way for upwards of 2 weeks. I finally spoke to someone on the phone who knew what they were paid to do after sadly over 24 man hours trying to get a simple thing sorted out. My last time I've been here from a review is I was finally going to get a viable replacement phone that actually works, Galaxy Nexus, after going through 6 different replacement phones. Unfortunately, I experienced the WORST customer service EVER! I was told I could walk in with my old phone and trade it in for the new one from all the trouble and that my account was noted. I went to do so and was told that by representatives in the store that they never do this and insinuated I was lying. So after a good hour in there, I went outside to my car and called the idiots that said they noted my account. After almost 2 hours inside my car of getting dropped calls, phone reboots and resets, a supervisor finally called the store after seeing what happened and told them to give me the phone. I went back inside and received a whole bunch of NASTY looks. I didn't care because I was hoping that I would be sticking it to them by getting a functional phone that actually works with the service that we pay monthly for. Unfortunately they messed it up by incorrectly inputting it so my contract was extended instead of the same and the wrong price. All in all, I really wish and dream of a phone company that respects their clients especially considering my company has around 30 lines with them and that it is a significant monthly amount we pay them. In the meantime, I am checking out alternatives like AT&T that actually do things to make it look like they care. read more

I love the kids who work at this place. They hit the ground running, and work their tails off...and don't stop til the clock is off. Perfectly courteous no matter what level of cellular ineptitude you feed them. That said, they're SO busy that no one can answer the store phone on Saturdays, and most associates are moving so fast that they forget important, customer-care details in the near-frantic pace. Ugh. Seen it happen four times, which shouldn't Have to Happen cos these kids Know Their Stuff...what does it take, a call to Corporate?...get these good people some reinforcements so they don't make valuable customers wait for extended periods...both on the floor and on the phone. Much less bobbled forgotten equipment requiring multiple trips by customer? c'mon now. This is a High Income neighborhood....they deserve prompt service. read more

Billing dept continues to send bills after disconnecting all lines and switching to t-mobile. Stay away from Verizon they are greedy and lack any conscience. I spoke with Rosetta in financial services on Feb 1st and after her confirmation I wouldn't be biled the error continues. 866-266-1445 @ Verizon. The lady helping us was really nice, but not so great at her job. We selected an unlimited data plan, but when we checked our bill, we were not so happy to find out we were on the wrong plan. She had also signed us up for the Total Protection Plan which we had opted out of. Anything to make an extra buck, I suppose. It was disappointing to find out especially since we had spent nearly 2 hours in this store. Time wasted. We later found out that you can do all this online without the hassle. Why in the world do they even have stores? You can buy your equipment online or at Best Buy or Apple. No reason to go through this headache!
