Thankful that I only visit this Verizon store when dropping off old phones to complete upgrade trades. I'm old school and like to know that my traded in devices are received by a Verizon colleague. Longer than anticipated wait, multiple customers engaged with colleagues through the duration of my visit (approximately 30 minutes). Two colleagues working in front of customers but not engaging customers; this is not a good look when customers are waiting. I took my 92 year old dad to the Polaris Verizon store to get a new iphone. Seven days later the battery/charger stopped working and his phone was nearly dead. I live out of state and couldn't help at this point. He went to the same Verizon store and they wouldn't help him and instead told him to take his brand new (phone purchased at that location) to an Apple store. He was confused and frustrated but finally managed to get to Apple, and they fixed his phone. My dad, who lives alone and has no land line, was left out in the cold with a bad phone by the same people whole were glad to take his money one week ago but weren't willing to switch phones or otherwise help. Went for deal to upgrade son's phone and was clear that I wanted the same or similar plan. Associate downgraded our service and added home protect without my permission. When I saw home protect was added and went back, the associate expressly lied and told me it hadn't been added and that what I received was a sales offer. It was super crowded so I called in and had the plan removed and worked with Clare over the phone: she switched me to a similar plan to our prior one (with better 5g) AND the similar plan was still less than what we had been paying. I think the person in store was trying to meet a sales goal and scammed me by downgrading our plan so he could add home protect and still make it look the same cost. Went in to see if I can upgrade/trade in for my phone. Soon as I went in I was told that I had to make an appointment for any upgrade or trade in. But since we were there they would see us without an appointment. We had to wait for about 10 min since there were people front of us. The woman that helped us was very nice and accommodating. Went over different options with us. For future visits, I would recommend making an appointment since they are short on staffs. read more

Customer rep tried to say they couldn't process trade ins there and I had to go home to do it. Turns out this is very far from the truth, so I had to pay for the phone then try and add a rebate later which turns out was unnecessary. Drove to two different spots and both places said that it was possible. Ended up returning the new phone and keeping the old one after a couple days wasting time. Very little help, reps really did not know any real information and if they did they just lied to get me out the door. Drove to multiple places to simply try and get everything done myself. Cancelling service and switching to ATT for this experience alone. Good luck. read more

Horrifically poor customer service. We have been customers with Verizon for 20 years and have never received this level of terrible service, like we were bothering the employees which is ironic because we were the only customers there on Saturday, June 15th at 4 pm. When we first pulled up the parking lot was empty. We should have known that was a bad sign. Every time we've been to this location the parking lot was packed and the store was full of customers. As we pulled into the parking lot there was a car that pulled in front of us and took the closest parking space by the front door. Surprise, it was an employee. The same employee who gave zero effort to help us UPGRADE out phones seconds later inside the store. Yes, we were there, ready to spend money by upgrading our phones and adding service to our existing plan. He wasn't interested. There were 5 Verizon workers. They all looked super bored but apparently not so board that they wanted to actually help. The last time we were here was two years ago. The store was packed and you had to wait for help. But when it was your turn, they stayed with you until you were taken care of. We have 3 different employees help us two years ago, all trying to take care of a customer of 18 years (at that time.) Joelle saved Verizon and my day. I was there to activate of new phone and transfer of data to my new phone ( paid $30). I initially was served by another guy rep who was confident and assertive. I was left alone while the transfer was ongoing but I used my phone when someone called and interrupted the transfer. I got him back and he saw that I used my phone and interrupted the transfer. He did something and after a minute he told me I was good to go and the transfer should be complete in two hours. He also told me that if the transfer was not completed, I was told to go to Apple Store but I didn't want to waste time going to Apple. I looked at my phone and there was nothing transferring. I think he knew it wasn't completed. He didn't offer me a case and screen protector or to take my trade in phone. So I asked Joelle who was done with another customer to put a screen protector on my phone and proceeded to tell her my problem. She looked at my phone and right away she knew that the transfer was not completed. She restarted the process. I worked with her for the next two hours ( was there for more than 3 hours) like she was calling Verizon on the phone ( took a while) activating my phone and erasing the old phone data, giving her my pin etc. it was a time consuming process always ( customer of Verizon, formerly Airtouch since 1999) based on my experience that made me conclude that the first guy ( worked with me for few minutes) was not telling the whole story. Verizon should look into that: hire the right people and rep should work with the customer from the start until the work is completed ( others have no incentive to finish the job of others because they are evaluated based on how many they sell). read more

It took me 5 hours today to get an issue solved and the staff at this store were little help. First the rep who took my appointment referred me to phone customer support rather than just helping me. Then with a manager from Verizon Phone Customer Support on the line, a manager and then the Store Manager/Acting District Manager here at the Polaris Store refused to solve the issue and it was a very simple issue to solve: honor a deal a Verizon Chat Rep gave in writing. A Verizon Chat rep promised me a deal on a phone in writing. The manager at Polaris confirmed the deal with the chat I saved and notated my account, but refused to honor the deal, even though they had the phone in stock. The Store Manager/Acting District Manager refused to come out and see me after multiple times asking for almost 3 hours. And then when he finally came out, he refused to honor the deal in writing, that his other manager confirmed, even though the Phone Customer Support Manager said because Polaris is a corporate store, they had the authorization to approve it and sell me the phone. The Store Manager/Acting District Manager was just flat out refusing to honor a deal in writing with a long time Verizon customer. He made up some bureaucratic red tape excuse that Verizon Chat was separate from the store, basically saying a different entity, and was refusing to honor a deal made by a Verizon rep. In the eyes of the consumer, a chat rep, phone rep, and store rep are all the same and any deal made by any of them should be honored by any of them. I came to the store to speak to a live person and they were no help whatsoever. Finally, after almost 5 hours, the Phone Customer Support Manager solved the issue and honored the deal, which means the Store Manager/Acting District Manager could have done the same thing but chose not to. Why??? Because he simply does not care about long time Verizon customers. This issue could have been solved in about 10 minutes but instead was dragged out over 5 hours because of the Store Manager/Acting District Manager, who first refused to come out, saying he was in a meeting, and then refused to come out multiple times after many requests until 3 hours later. Avoid this Polaris store like the plague! read more

I was met at the door by a young man who took my name and asked me to look around since it would be a few minutes before one of the tech's could help me. I was helped by a gentleman named Jared. I received a new phone via mail. I was having trouble transferring the data. I went in, store was pretty much empty. I was charged $30 for them to tell me the data was already transferring, it just took a long time. They spent about a minute on me looking at it. I asked if I could stay and make sure it downloaded alright and he told me that they were closing soon (it was 7:10 and they closed at 8. I then asked for a receipt in case it didnt work right and I could come back tomorrow and not get charged. He said there would be one in my email, which there never was. He then walked away like he didnt want to be bothered. No sense of customer service at all. It did finally download, but a little kindness or reassurance would have been nice. I just purchased a new iPad because I needed one since I have the very first iPad that ever came out lol. Can I give 10 STARS to Austin who was truly customer service personified. His personality was so inviting. He knew me by name since I had curbside service. You would've thought we knew each other for years. I'm all about treating the customers right especially how much service and money is paid. Verizon has great coverage but I must say, Austin made me wanna buy the whole dang store today. I pray management reads this review. I wish there were many Austin's out there. There were a lot of people picking up items and he could've easily been frustrated but he was cordial, friendly and helpful in every way!! Kudos management to your team in Polaris. Went to Verizon to buy a SIM card (I am getting added to my friends phone plan who lives out of the city. Her Verizon guy in Cleveland tells me to buy a SIM card from store near me and he will activate on his end.) I tell associate who is checking me in tells me he can't sell me a SIM card unless I'm an authorized user on account. I tell him I'm not an authorized user on the account because I'm not on the account because I need a SIM card first. I call another Verizon in Lewis Center and they tell me that it's no problem to sell me a sim card. Not sure if this location is racist or what but the guy gave me a difficult time and refused to help me for what should've been a simple transaction. read more

My 3 year old cell phone's internal storage memory got full and some apps stopped working. Ryan a sales associate and Greg the manager worked on it and sent me for a new 256 Gig SD card. I came back and they worked hard and got a lot of videos and pictures moved out of the internal storage on the the SD. Some apps got messed up on the home screen and they also fixed them. This was the best $29.00 I spent in a long time to get my Phone working great again. They did not stop till they got everything working the way I wanted. I can't thank them enough for getting my old phone running again. They were great taking the time to answer all my questions about settings etc. I have been a Verizon customer for 20 plus years and they are they good examples why I stay with the company. Came in with some phone issues, and left happy. I've been a Verizon customer for years, and am generally happy with the reception, and service. Prices are a little high, but competitive for the quality. We came to this location since we were nearby and it was a weekday. I try to avoid Verizon on weekends- just too busy. This time, late Friday afternoon, we had to wait ten minutes or so. The experience could be more efficient, but we spent the time looking at possible new phones. Two techs helped us, and ended up replacing the SIM cards on our phones. Hopefully that fixes the issue. Both were friendly and knowledgeable, and once things got going we were very happy with the experience. I'd come back to this location- on a weekday. read more

Then, while sitting in the chair immediately after signing, realized this wasn't the deal/phone I wanted, asked to cancel the payment and get a refund. Then come to realize I'm only getting $92 refund! Didn't open a box, leave with a phone, activate a phone. Absolutely nothing. How am I not getting a full refund?!?! Horrible service and was told lie after lie. I've been with Verizon since the beginning late 80's early 90's never had an issue until recent and cant get to anyone to help. Went to the store twice and was told both times someone would call me. first time I waited a week this time I was told they would call me Monday, well Monday came and went without a call. I asked the manager at the Polaris store for the number to someone in management that can help me get my problem solved and he told me he was the highest I could reach. Nightmare! Get EVERYTHING in writing. I was sold new phones as I was told my current phones would not work at the end of the year (which turned out not to be true). I've had to be in constant contact with their billing department because of the phones "not being as expected" (they were the ones I has while in the store...), charged upgrade fees, a protection plan I didn't want and several other issues. Now I'm still fighting with their corporate and consumer protection agencies trying to get the rebates I was promised. It seems they will tell you anything to sell you and then leave you to fight it out with their customer service reps on the phone. Too much wasted time and money and I still don't have my $400 in rebates after three months. Never again! read more

First, I would like to say that this review does not have full bearing on the store located at Polaris address because they are limited by Verizon policies as a whole, but I speak to that later in review. We have been with Verizon for approximately 13 years since arriving to Columbus and have not experienced such incompetence until this year. I called into Verizon 2 days ago to do an upgrade to iPhone 11 Pro Max and find out if there were any bogo deals were being offered and the person told me yes and explained everything and that it lasted through the month of October. I told him I would have to take the night and get back with him tomorrow and he sent me a txt and to let him know when I was ready, so I sent txt several times next day and didn't get a response so I called in to talk to someone to get things rolling. The new guy gets on and I tell him about the discussion I had with the previous sales rep and he said we don't have an offer like that but have an offer of 350 dollars off an individual deal with an individual upgrade upon return of my iPhone 8 Plus, and he said for my inconvenience he would wave the 40 activation fee since he had the power to do that, so I agreed. When he tried submitting my contract twice, he got an error message and said he would have to send me over to another person to finish completion since it was not going through. When he sent me over he failed to say that I would have to go through the whole process again and when I got to the end of the process going over fees and taxes the guy said I would have a 40 dollar activation fee and I said, the previous guy waived that, and he said he would have to talk to his supervisor since they don't normally waive activation. On returning to the phone the rep said his supervisor is willing to reduce to 20, but will not waive completely. At this point I'm am starting to get angry, so I told him I want to talk to the supervisor. Once the supervisor got on the phone I told him that I am getting tired of the double speak of the reps and that I had verbally accepted the initial reps offer of waiving the 40 dollars off. He said that as practice they normally do not do that and he has no documentation of the first rep, so I conceded to 20 dollars off. At the end when submitting the documents again, he said he was getting an error message twice and would have to transfer me over to someone else to attempt submission. At this point I asked him to make sure that all the offers follow so I don't end up with a problem. He sent me to another person that had no idea and had to start the process over. I said you just cannot pull the information over and she said no, because they have 2 different computer systems. I went through the process again and once reaching the end, I had the same problem with the activation fee which led to her having to consult her supervisor. This whole process was infuriating in that it took up over 2 hours of my time yesterday. If a company wants to do business over the phone or online they all need to be working with one computer system so if something was to happen, the process can be picked up where it left off. Now, back to the store issue. Everything in Ohio is opened up as long as stores follow the guidelines, but not Verizon, which is encouraging telephone and online orders that can be picked up curbside. This I do not understand why everything else is open, why not Verizon. I never had these issues with in store purchases before. The stores need to open up completely. The company is keeping things closed off to save money by not having to hire more people. Plus they have altered their times when you can receive help from a real person and since most states have opened, they have not gone back to their original times which is a huge inconvenience on a different level. When dealing with a company, I expect that company to deal with a company honestly and hold to what they offer, but I can see what this company is turning into since the so called false covid pandemic started. Assessed my situation on my ever first visit to their store and informed me I could get a replacement phone WITHOUT having to upgrade as I had purchased an extended warranty 4 yrs prior. My regular local store had seen me 3 times for the problem and NEVER spoke to my being allowed a new FREE replacement (same phone, not upgrade). I was steamed and will not return to my former go-to store by my office, but rather will go this new location as they're very interested in helping me as a 4-line Verizon (including business) account holder. Visited this location twice in a 12 day period. They provided the worst customer service I've ever experienced during both visits. It took well over 2 hours to purchase a new phone during my first visit. Then, less than 2 weeks later, the screen protector they installed cracked right down the middle. I make my second visit to attempt to remedy this problem, and I'm greeted by a rude and completely unhelpful representative. If anybody is reading this, do yourself a favor. I went in to cancel my Dad's line as he had passed and the first thing the employee at the door said was I could not cancel without a death certificate - which was insensitive and was not the correct answer anyway l. Then I asked about using the phone overseas and he said he could not help and gave me a phone number to call. I asked him what services he provided at the store and he said I was rude! I wish I would have gotten his name but it was in 8/3/19 at 1:45 and he was a young, short white male with dark hair. He was so inappropriate and arrogant and had no social skills. In my personal opinion Josh should be removed as manager of that store. They had charged my card twice. Instead of asking what my issue was he told me that he had others ahead of me. I was on my cell With customer service and the Verizon rep appeared to be shock. He could have taken less then a minute let me explain, apologized, and told me he'd get someone to take care of the problem. Corporate Customer Service could hear portions of the conversation and escalated the problem to the corporate level. I know verizon stores can be very busy at times but I received the best customer service I have ever gotten since being with Verizon. (10 years) Except one lady I spoke on the phone last year was excellent. All I needed was to suspend a phone and get a phone cover. Wonderful help!! Wow service! I have been a Verizon customer since I got my first cell phone more than 15 years ago and they never disappoint. Tonight I went in to get an upgrade for my daughter on her tablet for her birthday. Was helped by Michael who gave me an awesome discount and was more than helpful the entire time. There was an unhappy customer in during my visit who was screaming and yelling at the manager ended up being escorted out. The whole staff was more than professional and made sure that the rest of their customers were not disturbed. We finally received our new phone by UPS and took it to the store to setup the new phone. We were told that the wait was short but after waiting an hour they sent us home to backup the information to the cloud. When we purchased the phone, no one said anything about backing up to the cloud before we came in. We still needed items for the phone and they never addressed that. read more

We knew exactly what we wanted to get, but as always they try to convince you that you need something more expensive. We waited about 20 minutes for someone to work with us. He kept trying to sell us accessories and warranties/insurance for the phone. I know I can get these things (including insurance) cheaper online. After he figured out that we just wanted the phone he became very short with us, despite not being pleasant to begin with. He also asked me why I took time to read the contract. If I want to read a legal document before I sign don't hassle me about it. We walked out with what we wanted, but it wasn't a fun time. It's not as bad as an authorised reseller, but if you can just do what you need to on Verizon's site. read more

Writing reviews is not something I normally do but I just really wanted to leave this review so other customers can avoid wasting their time coming here like I did. First off, I am in the Columbus area out of town for work. I had a line on my account that is out of contract that I wanted to disconnect. The salesman was very nice and went into the back to begin working on it. About five minutes later he returned and says that he just remembered that Verizon just updated their systems yesterday where they can no longer do line disconnects from inside a store and gave me the number for "Verizon disconnections". I questioned it asking that I really just missed this basic request by ONE day? He assured me yes so when I got back to my hotel I called the number which was in actuality just a main Verizon Wireless customer service number. Got a hold of someone on the phone and after explaining what happened she asked me where was this store again? She very apologetically told me that is absolutely untrue and that store lied just because he did not want to hurt their numbers. So after working overnight until 8 am and then waiting until 10 for the store to open, I was extremely exhausted and this Verizon location out right lied to me and wasted my time. I love my service with Verizon but it's corporate stores like this one that really give Verizon a bad rap. Anyways if you need to go to a Verizon store skip this one and look elsewhere. read more

Bought two phones. Talked us into screen savers. Installed them poorly. Said go across the road to the mall to get them fixed. What? You just sold me a defective product now I need to go get it fixed. Yep, they'll charge you $7 but we'll reimburse you. Believe it or not that's their program. Except they wouldn't reimburse us. Manager was unapoligetic. Said he was sorry I was mad. Not sorry they screwed up. Not sorry I was inconvenienced. Nope none of that. He was completely useless in solving the problem. DO yourself a favor and don't buy ANY accessories from them, they're cheaper elsewhere anyway. read more
