Verizon is terrible and I have had my account for over 28 years. I upgraded from a 15 to a 16 pro, the reason for my upgrade was overheating. So I jumped from the frying pan into the fire. No only does my phone get hot but I have to wonder around my house to get good reception. I use my phone for work and work from home. So it difficult. I have had my phone for 7 months and have changed it out 5 times. Verizon has sent to this store to change out the phone and this location got me in touch with over the phone customer support, and Verizon said we can send you a 17 and use it because my wife had one upgrade so I did it to to get a phone that works. That phone never arrived and never signed for, but Verizon is not listening, and the phone shows delivered. And the story of crappy service continues and no results from calling Verizon. So this past Monday I finally got a tier 2 technician and thought my problems are solved, they promised me a new phone and signal extender and nothing. Another call to Verizon and talked with a young lady who helped me with a new phone, but the phone did not upload my information and was stuck. So I took it over to the Verizon could help, they would but at a cost, and I said to the lady that I was not happy and was describing all the issues I have had and you Shit to describe my frustration and they would not help me. Was I wrong to use shit as an expressive way to show my frustration, but completely condemned and service was not rendered. For some reason the phone started updating and working but away from my house. I am completely done with Verizon, there is no where a customer can go to get customer service and AI has made the experience more frustrating. read more

The customer service as this location is terrible. We purchased a new iPhone 16 for our daughter at our local Verizon in Winston- Salem and were told activating it/transferring data in Raleigh should be "no problem". Completely wrong. The Raleigh store told us we would have to wait at least on hour just to speak with a representative (there were 3 people in the store), the data transfer could take 1-4 hours during which we couldn't leave the store (WS let us take both old/new phones home with us to complete the 1.5 hour activation for the iPhone 16 I recently got) and we'd have pay the $35 activation fee again (no). The attitude and the eye rolling was just the cherry on top. I'd advise going to another store if possible. Worst experience I've had a Verizon. read more

We went into the Cary location on a Friday and had to hunt down an employee just to get on the check-in list. It wasn't busy. Only 3 people ahead of us... great. Well, not great. There were 5-6 employees and many just standing around. Well, after 45 minutes and no update or status screen we (and other customers) got tired of being ignored and left. I had a business account with Verison, they say I still do but I was assured that my account was closed in NOVEMBER!!! Now 4 months later, I'm still getting bills for phone numbers that have never been mine!!! As well as phone calls at 9pm telling me I need to pay them! Uuuuugh! Was in the store on November 23 and December 22. After receiving my bill, I was not told the truth about charges - plans and devices as far as actual costs by either store representative. Discounts that were to be applied have not been applied. I spent over an hour on the phone with a very helpful rep at the 800 number today. He was able to help some, but said I needed to talk to the store directly for further assistance. I called the number he gave me for the store and it goes to the 800 number. In addition, my corporate discount was removed when I was talked into different plans in order to lower my bill. The phone Customer Service rep said he could not restore my old plan. I am presently looking for another service provider and will most likely be changing soon. Four phone lines and three watches. read more

I'm beginning to question whether I will stick with Verizon going forward. There have been two total Verizon stores where I have had positive experiences. Others, like this one, absolutely suck. I came here to get a new phone, and I was initially thinking I would get the 7+. I ultimately settled on the 8+, and that was partially due to our sales rep either lying to me about the camera features or being an uninformed idiot. The 8+ does not have a better camera than the 7+. The stats are identical. Portrait mode is not unique to the 8+. Yes, this is partially on me for not just doing the research myself, but I can also be excused for naively assuming that a Verizon employee would know the darn products that they're selling. The A11 chip does make the photos on the 8+ better than the 7+, but this is the result of better image processing. All of the good Verizon stores that I have visited will happily put on the screen protector for you. My ever-so-helpful sales rep told me that he would do it for me just this once as a favor, but they're not supposed to because blah blah hippity dippity. Now, because the employees here don't give a damn about customer service, our delightful sales rep insisted that we boot the phone up first and input all the information before putting on the screen protector. Then, while putting on the screen protector, this moron said "You really should put on the screen protector right after you take off the plastic from the phone." ...You mean like I asked you to do in the first place, you blithering idiot? The Verizon Store at Crabtree Valley Mall is one of the only two stores that I've visited in multiple states where customer service is an actual focus. Go to that store if you absolutely must stay with Big Red. I really don't understand how I only bought one phone from the generous people at that store. To Verizon Corporate [which actually read one of my previous negative reviews]: save this store from ruining your business. Look at the number of one star reviews here. Don't try to do a curbside pickup at this store. They won't let anyone in the store so instead crowded a bunch of people under a tent in the rain. They couldn't find my order and told be to call customer service. After being on hold then on the phone for 1 1/2 hours, customer service said there is a problem with their server, but they should have been able to find the order and help help. They refused to help or call their help desk themselves. Go elsewhere to buy a phone or accessories. read more

This location is horrible. Let's start with the store itself. There are limited seats inside it is very difficult if you are handicapped or can not stand for very long. There is a sign to scan when you enter to get on the list for help. If you are a bit older this may be difficult to maneuver. There is absolutely no privacy for doing your transaction. The staff are not very friendly for being in sales. The manager who signed us in and asked what we were there for did not correctly explain how at the store they could not address our concerns. We would have to call customer service. We did not find out the store cannot assist with plans unless you buy a phone until after waiting almost 30 minutes to see an associate. I have been a Verizon customer for almost 27 years. When I contact corporate which I will regarding this store I will let them know I am finally changing to another carrier. 1) I have 30 years wireless experience having worked for network providers and vendors (Motorola, Nokia Siemens) 2) Had Samsung 6s waiting for iPhone 5g aka XS release 3) $$$ difference in cost of contract vs. prepaid had prepaid account for last two years why pay $75 postpaid when $45 for prepaid same NETWORK 4) Samsung phone died went to VzW - Walnut Street Cary, NC to sign up for contract to get the iPhone because of the payments. Dale wearing Veteran pin received the background info did not want to overspend. Dale told me I could get "free iPhone 8" - told him everyone I know has a phone. He kept saying it was free. I asked if it was sharing minutes thing no other charges which he said YES. I said I could keep it in a drawer in case something happened with my new XS. The store uses tablets to write up contracts, Dale DID NOT show me the figures but TOLD ME. I noticed the email popup later but didn't think much about it. Until 4 days after getting my new phone. Which is after the 3 day rescind period of a contract - Dale lied totally lied. Not only is the phone not free he signed me up for insurance for both phones at $30 each. The free phone is $22 per month line fee and $39 a month insurance or $55 per month or $1464 after 2 years for something that sits in a drawer. Having a contract means paying higher per month for service or $720 before taxes. I regret not buying phone full prices and keeping prepaid $45 per month which would have saved me $2184. I am going to store to get the insurance dropped from the account. read more

He helped but when the order would not go through the other employees were of no help and blamed the problem on me or on the fact that Verizon is a large company. They refused to contact anyone at Verizon for help making me do that. Once I got through the sales person at the store hung up on the CS person for corporate and then again blamed me and refused to use the stores direct line to contact corporate. I finally got a great person from Verizon on my phone and was able to proceed. If I had waited for the store to help I would still be waiting. Do not go to a store for help. I hate these stores. You go in, you wait, you wait, you browse, you wait, and then you have the person either (1) basically tell you you're an idiot because somehow you put your phone in airplane mode or (2) tell you that your phone is deadskee and you have to wait five whole days for them to ship you a new one. Like people can actually live without cell phones. Pshaw. This, my peoples, is not one of those stores. The door was actually opened for me by a guy awaiting my entrance. He took my name and my issue and within one minute, I was addressed by a second staff member. Turned out my phone needed to be replaced. The service took a while, since the store was fairly busy, but it was more than tolerable. I was sad that I couldn't steal a family member's upgrade to snag the new iPhone (merry chrismukkah to me?), but the woman hooked me up with a replacement Droid Incredible, no fees attached. Not so bad at all. And luckily, my old phone still pretty much functions (sans texting) to get me through these dire times. read more

Yes the wait time at this store is sometimes long but they can't help it if they're busy, so it's understandable. But what happens after the fact, in my opinion, is poor customer service. I won't bore you with the details about what happened beforehand but I went to this specific store to return an iPhone that was mistakenly sent to me. Two days prior, I bought an iPhone on the Verizon website but I realized immediately after that I accidentally ordered the wrong phone. I then proceeded to call customer service to cancel the order and they told me that I called early enough since it hasn't been fully processed in their system. I called customer service twice that same day to make sure my cancellation went through and on both times they confirmed to me that it said that it's cancelled in the system. However, two days later, I still received the phone. I figured that mistakes happen so I called customer service again. She was surprised that it happened because it still says that my order is cancelled in her system. The woman on the phone was very nice, she apologized for the inconvenience cause and recommended that I return it to a corporate store so I can get my refund. I told all of that to the staff at this Verizon store. He looked at all of the things that came in the box, receipts and an unopened iPhone box etc.. Went to talk to someone who I'm assuming is the manager, came back and said if I knew anything about a "restocking fee". I didn't really say much, I was taken aback since customer service said that I would get a full refund and I did not want to cause a scene at a store. I reiterated that it was their company who told me that my order was cancelled, twice, and that they should not have sent me that phone in the first place. He just looked at me and said something in the lines of, well it left the warehouse so we have to charge a restocking fee. He didn't offer any suggestions, any reasoning besides "It left the warehouse, sorry." Maybe he just didn't care because he probably won't get any commission out his session with me. Basically what he told me was that there's nothing I can do to get a full refund. If I want to return it I will have to pay a $35 restocking fee for a $1 phone (I'm not joking, it was literally a dollar with a 2 year contract). I reluctantly agreed. When I got home I immediately called customer service and explained to him my situation. Without hesitation, he said that he could refund that $35 to me because the mistake was on Verizon and that he would look into the issue. It was that easy. This, Verizon, is what good customer service looks like. Why the staff at the store wouldn't even bat an eye to help is beyond me. TL;DR: Long wait times, that's understandable. But customer service is crap if you're not purchasing anything from them. read more

When ever my 2 year contract is about to come up and I can get a new phone I start to prep myself for the long wait and an all day event at the Verizon store. This is actually the first location when I walk in the door the staff is so welcoming and will help you get to the person that will help you the best. When I go into the store I already know exactly what I want and how much I am going to pay. They dont push me to get things that I dont want and they make it so easy. This last time I went in to upgrade to the latest iPhone and I was in and out with my new phone and everything transferred in 26 minutes!!! I will go back to this location every-time. In April 2022 I was offered $700 to trade in my phone for an upgrade. I gave my phone in exchange for a $1139 phone expecting to pay the difference over time for the remaining $439. I was expecting Verizon to honor their end of the deal. Nearly a year later I was going to switch carriers so I called for the payoff. It was $824. I called Verizon customer service and they informed me that the $700 would be paid over 36 months and if you left early you won't get anymore trade in payments and you not only gave them your phone but paid nearly full price for the new phone. Very deceptive sales technique... there was never any mention of this, only we will give you $700 for my phone (which as it turns out they got my old phone for almost free) and I would pay the difference in monthly payments. I love Verizon's service! They are an excellent company and have excellent coverage. As an avid skier I like having a cellphone that works in the Sierra Nevada and never loses coverage. It provides piece of mind. However, this store in particular is a bit of a let down. They hire people who have no clue what they are doing and everything takes forever. I would strongly recommend avoiding this specific store. They are very dishonest and not interested in doing whats right for the customer. Keep in mind. They will always provide attentive service when you are purchasing something. However, as soon as they have your money. They don't give a crap about you. I recently purchased a Pixel 2 XL from the store in Cary, NC. This is a $950 phone. After a week i was having some issues with it. I stopped in to the store and asked how to go about getting it resolved. They said that I should try it for another week and see how things go. I agreed, since it was an intermittent problem. However, I did ask if I would be able to get a NEW replacement after 14 days if there was still a problem. I was told "absolutely, the phone has a year warranty that would provide me a NEW phone if there was an issue". After a week I came back with the same problem as well as others. I was told they would replace it by one person. Then after waiting for them to go through "paperwork" for about 45 min they came back to me and said that if I wanted a new replacement I would have to pay $150 since the promotion had changed since I purchased only 16 days prior. I told them that was not acceptable. They they told me they could do it if I contacted Google and went through the troubleshooting process. So, I did that. Google determined it was a hardware issue that needed to be replaced. They sent me back to the store since it was just recently purchased and they would require me to send them my phone first. Which does not work out for most people. So, I went back to the store with the email from Google explaining that the phone was defective. I was then told that they could only provide me a refurbished phone as a replacement. Not NEW. This is only after owning the phone for 20 days. As you can imagine, this was not what I wanted to hear. I asked for a manager and was told that the policy is what it is and that the manager would tell me the same thing. So at this point I have a $950 lemon phone, as proven by Google technical support. No, I will not be recommending Verizon. Actually, I will be strongly discouraging anyone from using Verizon and specifically the store at 1910 Walnut St, Cary, NC 27518. read more

We went to the Verizon store to upgrade to the iPhone 6s. They store was very busy, but we were attended to within 5 minutes. The Verizon rep was extremely helpful in setting us up with our new data plan and switching over numbers. The process of getting our numbers moved over was more complicated than we had anticipated, but the rep was very helpful and made process not as painstaking as it could've been. The overall costumer service was really good and they made it very clear what we getting with our phone plan and not trying surprise us with any hidden fees. My only complaint would be that they use Verizon hotspots instead of wifi at the store so cellular service can be slow on s busy day when everyone is trying to connect to it. read more

My boyfriend went up about a month ago and got an iPhone xr. The sales person that sold us the device kept pushing different products. We did buy the case (which is important) but she insisted we take the Hum device they had. We insisted we did not want nor need this device, which functions like an OnStar. It was presented to us as a promo gift type thing for ordering the phone but we still didn't want it, but ended up taking it anyway after being told this. After two hours in the store getting things in order we left. Fast forward to 30 days later. When he gets the bill. The bill shows another line of service for the Hum. The one we were told was a gift. Not a new line of service. My boyfriend called customer service and they told him to just return it to the store. No big deal. We go to the store in Cary yesterday and was told by the sales person that it will be an early termination fee to cancel since it's outside 30 days. I explained we never used it (as they can see) and didn't even want it in the first place. He said he would go talk to the manager. The manager came out and told us since it's outside 30 days we have to pay $100 termination fee. I explained to him how it was told to us and that we didn't want it. He then RUDELY replied that no one forced us to take it! And would be charged the fee. We got home and called customer service. The representative was more than helpful offering to waive half the fee. It wasn't the entire thing but it was a good compromise considering the situation. I will never go back to the Cary store again. I wish I can remember the name of the manager. All I remember is that he had large koi fish tattoos on his arms. And he was a younger guy. So stay away from this manager for his poor customer service, disrespectful cocky attitude and and their shady sales reps!! I will never go back to this Verizon store ever again. That manager needs to be demoted! We've both been customers of Verizon for over ten years. And this is his how we get treated? By a manager no less. read more

I am a long time Verizon Wireless customer, but no longer due to the insensitivity of the Manager (Alex) and sales associate. Please be cautious when working with reps pushing the BOGO offers on the iPhone 8. I went into the store with the intent of purchasing a new phone and adding a line. The sales rep suggested the BOGO since I was adding a line. I was appreciative for his help and agreed to move forward. Unfortunately, I received a text message today from Verizon that my BOGO did not go through because I did not turn in a trade-in. This was not the deal that was explained to me by the rep. I'm now beyond the 14-day return policy and the store will not accept a return of my phone. Neither Andy (the manager) nor the sales rep offered any type of apology for the sales rep's misleading nature. Fortunately, the phone customer service people have been great and are trying to help me navigate a remedy. That said, this store has served up the worst customer experience of my life. I purchased an HTC 10 at the end of January. I've had three phones (used/refurbished) sent to me. I can see why people are switching to T-Moble and AT&T. I depend on my phone service for business. So it's important to have good service with no dropped calls or static on the line. The HTC 10 has over-heated, dropped calls constantly, it randomly calls people, shuts down for no apparent reason, delays texts, touch screen doesn't respond correctly, apps don't work well with this phone, and the list goes on. Can I remind you this is my third phone and they kept telling me they can order another one for me. Same issues each phone. I've replaced several SIM cards. When you talk to customer support they always tell you to wipe your system clean and reboot it. Like resetting it to factory defaults and rebooting it 50x is going to make a difference. I've spent 20+ hours on the phone, 16+ hours at the store... So here's my complaint. Jason (the manager at the time) tells me he'll give me a new phone in the place of this one. All I have to do is pick one out. The only problem, after reading reviews online most of the phones are not that great. So I opt in waiting until either Samsung or HTC comes out with a better phone. So Jason notes my account and tells me that's fine. A month later after the new HTC 11 and Samsung 8 comes out I stop in to see about switching my phone out, I get told that Jason moved to the Apex store (25 minutes up the road). The guy even tells me, even though Jason noted my account that I had to go see him according to the new manager on duty (5/22/2017 @ 8pm). So let me get this straight, I have to inconvenience myself after being inconvenienced by a Verizon phone issues, and I pay $218 per month for two phones... I understand why T-Mobile has quickly become the second largest mobile provider. Just like Alltel, Verizon will become the thing of the past. Give T-Mobile a few more years and I may just switch. Here's the best part... I have to go and see if Jason is working in Apex, they won't call or text him to find out what his schedule is. Great customer service. I think not. The bigger the company, the less they care. So let's see if I get out of there in less than 6hrs. ------------------------- *Update. I did write this in the moment of frustration. However, the salesman at Walnut Street was very polite and I would speak with him again if another issue arises. In my professional opinion, he did the right thing by referring me to Jason because I had a working relationship with him and I walked in a few minutes before 8pm, closing time. What prompted my visit was because while on the phone (Bluetooth) with my son it dropped his call. I was feeling very frustrated with my HTC 10. This is what prompted my late night visit at Verizon after work. I did call Verizon the next day and they were able to reach Jason and found he was working (5/23/2017). I do recommend everyone to see him because he's a straight shooter and encredible manager. He'll tell you upfront whether or not he can help. I can see him going up the corporate ladder pretty quickly. I feel each person that is/was trained underneath him will one day have their opportunity to manage a Verizon store. This issue is not related to the customer service or Verizon but with HTC 10. Whether it's more of a software or hardware issue reflects nothing toward Verizon or their employees. I've been a loyal customer for 20yrs. When you have a bad experience with a phone(HTC 10), it's like having a tooth that needs to be pulled, you just want to throw it away. I guess in a couple of days I'll be switching out my new HTC 10 phone to the new Samsung Galaxy 8. I'm keeping my fingers crossed... read more
