While this is a Verizon Authorized Retailer (Victra) and not a corporate-owned store, I found the experience better than the T-Mobile reseller across the street. There is some room for improvement compared to larger Verizon locations, but it's great having a local spot right here in Carpinteria. Verizon's phone service itself is fantastic--I've used both Verizon and T-Mobile and both are solid options, but I personally prefer the reliability of Verizon. read more

This little store located in the Casitas Pass Mall in Carpinteria. I went there to upgrade my iPhone 7 to a 15. The store is run by a kind, intelligent, and skilled woman named Jackie (not sure I spelled that right) who runs this little franchise alone. She manages to welcome and provide service to all who walk in and manages to deal with phone callers too. She very efficiently upgraded me to an iPhone 15 and helped me transfer all my data to the new phone. Apple products are notoriously expensive but my experience with them is one of very few failures or glitches. I'm happy with Apple products. They are reliable (and my iPhone 7 still worked actually). Complete and utter bimbo. I purchased a new iphone online and started the setup process. Given it was a physical sim to an e-sim it told me I had to go into the store and have a Verizon employee complete the transfer. Luckily I have one right in town! I popped in and have the step pulled up ready for a quick turnaround. Thats when the worlds biggest and worst bimbo ruined my entire day. She immediately starts pushing things incorrectly. After 20 mins of no progress she calls Verizon support. She works at Verizon and was on with general support. She has absolutely zero idea what shes doing or even trying to do. Then she starts asking me why I didnt buy the phone through her store and berating me. I entered with my original phone working and after an hour and a half this idiot managed to make that phone stop working while not getting my new phone working. Complete imbecile and I went up to Verizon store in Santa Barbara and they fixed it in 5 mins. Borderline abusive verbal and dismissive treatment, actually hurt my feelings would make a kid cry if you talked to them like this lol. Had a broken phone and went in to replace it, when I arrived there was a poster that advertised the exact same service, as I walked in I quoted the poster with a jubilant attitude for the new device. Within a few seconds of walking into the store I was treated with subtle but very harsh anger. The person working there was talking down on me with great significance as if I was a child. I felt extremely disrespected by her tone and attitude, as a black American her tone reminded me of a type of person with extreme prejudice for someone they have never met. With her violent tone I just tried to ask a few questions and kept a smile on my face and didn't reciprocate her hateful excitement at my presence. I still want to buy a new phone with my money in my hand, but will go to another location after this interaction. Also she kept saying I "couldn't afford it" and never went through the purchasing options properly as a sales person, I'm not the richest person but I already have a brand new iPad with data, and when purchasing that product other Verizon employees didn't treat me as if I couldn't afford it. My aunt went in there yesterday and she automatically started adding items to her bill although my aunt had declined several times but she continued to do so. A few months ago I also witnessed how rude and unwelcoming she was to a couple more customers. She claims that she's the top #1 Verizon sales person which Is why she was moved to the Carpinteria location to make better sales! I walked into this Verizon location (Carp.) yesterday, Monday 2/21 and the person (only one there!) on front desk was not helpful, I especially noticed that he seemed bothered by me (the only customer) walking in for help as if i was interrupting him with no one else in the store; he took his time in attempting to answer my simple question(s). Really I thought!! Excuse me for interrupting you on whatever you were working on and not to mention I was your only customer. One would think that if you have a top of the line IPhone and have been paying monthly insurance for phone, Verizon would be more than willing to help you with repair (not by sending you to a third party vendor to fix a simple lens on IPhone) or give you options to exchange IPhone or a possible upgrade! read more

I would like to thank Carson (store mngr.) and Andrew for keeping a customer happy! I was having difficulty getting an issue resolved. I spent a few hours on hold with Verizon customer service and at the end was told to contact the manager at the store where I purchased the phone. Andrew, an employee at the Carpinteria store continued to help me and with the help of the store manager worked everything out! Although the manager was helpful in resolving my issue I never spoke to the manager. It was Andrew that kept up with the progress and called me to inform me the issue had been resolved. What a bad experience! I thought I'd try the Verizon store in tiny Carpinteria to keep my business local. But what I encountered was a 3rd party store, with limited stock, little authorization, commissioned sales people, poor customer service, lack of knowledge, and an abundance of attitude. While there, the sales staff sent 4 of 5 customers to either Ventura or Santa Barbara to get what they needed. So why bother with Carp? I'm a cheerful easy going senior and try to make every interaction positive. But neither of the young men that helped me were the least bit enthusiastic. Both appeared bored and exuded a "Don't give a sh*t attitude". One (Jake) even stated during our dealings that "This' is just paying for my college and I can't wait to be out of here". Nice. I purchased a phone, but I had to make several trips to the store because of all that they COULD NOT DO for me at the store. That's how I learned this is NOT A VERIZON store. I ended up returning the phone and bought a better phone at Best Buy for less. With great customer service I might add! And that's when Jake became unhinged. He did not process my return promptly, so the returned phone showed still active. Best Buy, and Verizon corporate could not assign a new phone until the returned phone showed returned. Both called Jake but he refused to act. Verizon even asked me to call him and ask him to please process the return, so I did (nicely). Jake was a complete jerk. Picked up the phone but said nothing. When I introduced myself he said nothing. I explained why I was calling and that Verizon asked me to call him. He was very annoyed, and obstructionist. He said "By law, I cannot process anything without the customer standing before me". I said, "But Jake, I was standing before you 1.5 hrs ago in your store when I returned the phone?". He repeated "I can't do anything unless you are here at the store". I said "If I need to be at the store, I'll come back". Then he says he's in the middle of processing my return anyway, and hung up. RUDE! So, if this isn't a real (corporate) Verizon store, and they are going to just send you to Ventura or Santa Barbara to a real Verizon store anyway, why put up with their lousy (commissioned) attitudes? read more

I recently received a notification from Verizon via text indicating that I had used up nearly all my data (the 2 GB plan). If I were to exceed the 2 GB I'd be penalized $15.00. Today I checked again. I have 0.081 GB (4.02%) remaining -- and 8 more days to go. I've never used up the 2 GB, not even come close. So off to the Verizon Store to find out how I came to use up so much data -- and -- how I can stay within the little bit of data I have left - and avoid the $15.00 overage charge. And I got lucky! Really lucky! GRISELDA is the rep who spent time with me, and lots of it. She is patient, so knowledgeable, with a smile that goes on in to tomorrow! One one of the best encounters I've EVER had with service reps anywhere. It turns out I had set the phone to "always on" -- which means it was continually searching. We also reviewed my past usage to compare. So...the take away? When you go the Carp.Verizon Store, make sure it's GRISELDA who works with you. I was totally scammed by this company! I had no idea I was unauthorized under this account but still Sean proceeded to sell me numerous items not only did I not need but made our bill Skyrocket. He told me I was getting things for free which now after my husband looking over the bill was not for free all I got completely scammed. I was told I was going to have a $65 rebate to my account for writing a good review on Yelp and for emailing his boss. Never happened! I have never felt so screwed over by a company in my entire life and the fact that they allowed someone who was not even authorized on the account too make such purchases and believing the lies that I was getting a good deal when frankly I was being completely manipulated and taken advantage of would not recommend this place to anyone they won't even get back to us to correct the mistakes! ZERO stars...Stay away from this place, they are just sales reps out to make money. Save your time and money and go to a real Verizon Store not one which masks itself as one. Here's how my experience started, went in to this store since it was a local store and gave it a shot. Spoke with Braden at the counter and told him I needed to upgrade my wife's phone. We worked out which one I wanted and that experience was fine in between him being more worried about why the Bluetooth speaker behind the front counter wasn't playing his music. This sort of distraction seemed to continue throughout the entire sales contact. Granted there was nobody in the store and I was the first customer, not one person came in the entire time. While bringing out a stack of Iphones to show all the different colors to pick from, he dropped the stack, phones fell to the ground. I did not pick the color which had fell and hopefully he filed a loss with the company, which I doubt happened. Like all phone purchases in the past and I'm sure is common practice with everyone is to have your contacts and all photos transferred over to the new phone, which he said he could do and would take around 45 minutes, no problem, I left and came back. When I returned Braden was with another customer but looked up and said everything transferred fine and here's your device, all bagged up nicely. I looked at the screen and it was the same screen as the old phone, phone numbers were transferred, so I figured everything was fine. I delivered the phone to my wife and much to my dismay, she said all of the photos are not on the phone. All of them! I told her to contact Braden and explain the situation and it "should" be an easy fix. She called the office and was told Braden wasn't in the store, since he was on break, and he's the only one who can take care of it. I called to try and get in touch with Braden later and spoke to him on the phone and this is where things went south as one of the worst customer service experience I've ever had, also since I've been a Verizon customer for over 20 years. I explained I had came in the prior morning with my wife's phone and he couldn't remember who I was after explaining multiple times. I said well I'll get to the point, and told him he didn't transfer the photos over to the new phone. He said, well that's your fault for not checking before leaving the store. I was shocked, this was the first way he decided to handle this, I told him what he had said the previous day, regarding him saying everything had transferred successfully. He then said he was with a customer and began saying to the customer, "wouldn't you check your phone before leaving the store!" I asked if the phone was still there and whether the photos could be transferred, he emphatically said, "no the phone has been wiped clean, and has already been sent away." I really doubt that kind of efficiency in needing to have them sent away less than 24 hours later. BS. I asked for the store manager which he said wasn't coming in today. I left messages on the Go Wireless Consumer Advocacy hotline, shocker, no response from anyone in their department. I called again and got in touch with the manager, Sean. I had a great conversation with Sean, to where I felt he would take care of the situation or his employee, Braden. He shouldn't have a job in customer service. Sean said Braden's actions were wrong and Sean said he would meet with his Regional Manager regarding this situation. Sean blamed Apple for the IPhone not transferring the photos and said it has been happening lately. Where I said they should double check that before giving the phones back. I did digress and admit I should have checked too but I felt I paid a pretty expensive price for a service not rendered. Sean did take my information down, but it's been over a month and I haven't heard a thing from this company or its' personnel. Save your time and money and go somewhere else, stay clear of this place. read more

If I could give this place a minus star I would. The guy who manages it is a total scam artist. He had no problem flat out lying to someone to try to make a sale. He conned me out of a plan I had that was perfect for me and unlimited to fit me into a 2Gig plan that was the worst I've ever had. A couple years later I go in to upgrade my phone and plan and there he is telling me there will be no new IPhone and I better get one now. He said the phone so wanted wasnt in stock but he could " work it out " to where I could have one right there if I bought a case, screen protector and charger ? He didn't even offer to call another store for me to see if they had the iPhone X.. he stuck with his bundle deal proposition. We went to the Verizon in SB and had the best service ever compared. That manager there is a total con man. Never go here, ever ever ever. By the way I did see a case sold there that is sold exclusively on Amazon for 2.99 being sold for 29.99.. is that a thing ? By far the best Verizon store in the area due to the great customer service of the employees! They are fast (you never have to wait long, if at all), friendly, and helpful. The store manager, James, went above and beyond in providing excellent customer service. He helped me upgrade to the 6s, and although the one I wanted wasn't in stock, he had it sent to the store and it was ready to be picked up the next day. He was knowledgable in recommending the best screen protectors and cases and made the transaction a breeze. I'll definitely be referring my friends and family to this location, it's even worth the drive from Santa Barbara if you want to be helped quickly by an informed and personable staff! read more
