I'm writing this review from inside the store now. I came in approximately 15 minutes ago. Only person who acknowledged me was the security guard. Another person came in about 10 minutes after me. He was greet and "checked in." I didn't even know I needed to be checked in, but okay... Finally, a rep comes over and asks "What brings you in today?" She got me going, but there should be a better check-in system in place because that was annoying. read more

Verizon was a great suppler until my phone stoped working. I was told I had to find my system phone. I had not used it in 4 or 5 years. I moved to AT&T. In order to clear my credit I paid what they asked which was 2 months of my normal fee which I stoped working months before Martin OC read more

Always great service from Vivian! And to everyone else who works here. Best phone store I go to.

Stayed away from yelp for awhile for various reasons, but the experience i had with this store was so positive i had to come back and shout them out. Maybe I'll start doing reviews again. I actually went into this store because i tried to transfer service to another carrier and had issues on Verizon's phone support. Came in and thought this was gonna be a battle to get this done. So my hopes weren't high. Place was pretty busy. But was greeted right away, asked how to be helped, and the associate went right to work trying to solve my problem. It was a bit of a rats nest trying to figure out what was going on with my account, but she handled it and was beyond pleasant through the whole process. I'm seriously crotchety when it comes to customer service. I know what i was expecting, and this was thankfully not it. I'm sure I'm spelling her name incorrectly, but Sheba was incredibly patient, competent, and kind. Seriously, i can't speak enough about the service at this location. read more

This is the corporate store on Cermak Rd, Berwyn. I had one of the best and more efficient services through Luis at this location. He was patient and answered all my answers. I felt very taken care of with support. If you need help with anything, make sure to ask for Luis at this location. read more

I've been a customer with Verizon for over 10years now and Ive never had such a horrible experience and horrible customer service. I am being over charged for services I never requested nor wanted, they forcefully made me over pay for services, customer services is terrible they don't work with customers properly they make you wait for a long time on the phone for them not to help you, they don't even want to credit me anything back. I will cancel my services with Verizon and I will never go back to them. read more

It makes me sad to see this location with such a low rating. My husband and I came here because we were switching over from AT&T. We were dreading it because we thought the process was going to be painful switching companies. Our experience was the exact opposite. We were greeted by Rocio and she let us know she would be with us as soon as she finished up with her current customer. She had a contagious smile :D She walked us through all of our options and was there through every single step to get us transferred over to Verizon. Verizon actually transferred our number over for us. All we needed were our AT&T account numbers. How amazing is that!? Easy peasy lemon squeezy. I wanted the 11 Pro but they unfortunately didn't have it in stock... so we ordered it! I got the rose gold with the 256 gig. I use my phone a lot for work so I decided on the pro because of the increased battery life and the AMAZING camera(s). WOW. I also have thousands of photos that I can't seem to delete so I carry those on over from phone to phone :) Once my phone arrived (in the suggested time they told me) I went back in and Rocio wasn't working that day (sad face) but we got Luis! He was just as awesome. He got my new phone up and running, my husband spur of the moment ended up getting the 11 Pro Max and trading in his old AT&T phone that day and there were no problems. Luis was sure to apply the promotion they had going that day and the entire process was so smooth. Rocio and Luis are some of the most attentive, patient, and kind representatives we've ever worked with. We appreciate you both and we love our new phones. Thank you! read more

Me and my husband walked in. Spoke to Luis nice salesman. But he took advantage of our niceness. After the sale he gives this nice speech here is my number. Call if you have any problems. and when we had questions he ignored our calls to help us . It was for his advantage. (Commission) . Having to deal with Adam ( sales manager) was a huge mistake. He is the most aggressive arrogant person in that store. Hoping that no one should have to deal with him . you probably won't get to share your experience. Because he wouldn't give you a chance to speak. He loves to talk over you. And like to prove that he right when he doesn't know the situation . Wow what a headache. Remember that name ADAM.. I asked to speak to the manager Yatsie she didn't take the time to show her face. That's sad once they make a sale customer are ignored and punished to the side. Poor management. Always look at your receipt before leaving the store .to check if the sales person added extra fees without explaining . They will do that. read more

I have been a Verizon customer for a 6 years and this particular location has the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. I should of known it was so HOOD when I walked into the store and there was a security guard. I recently purchased 2 iPhone 12 Pro Max from a different Verizon store. (Schaumburg) I had to come to the Berwyn location to activate one of the phones (which I purchased for my best friend). At the Schaumburg store I was greeted by representative that listened to me and helped me achieve my goals of purchasing my phone. When I walked into the BERWYN Location. I was greeted by a security guard and very aggressive greeting from the store manager. I explained my needs and he was very negative and basically told me I couldn't do what I wanted to do without looking at my account. He had another representative assist me and he went over what I wanted and repeated what his manager said and I asked him to go get his IPAD and just read the notes in my account. He finally got his pad and as I was standing there the representative kept asking me if the phones I purchased were from VERIZON and was just scrolling and not reading any of the notes that previous representative left. With all the negative attitudes I end up walking out of the store in mid conversation mad as hell and wasn't able to activate the phone. I really like my service with Verizon, but this CORPORATE location has the worst customers service representative and do not know what they doing. They need to do a better job on listening to the customers. Customers are not always right. If you aren't able to assist there is a better way of explaining except being so negative. Please don't go to this location and go to another Verizon store. read more

Updating my review from 1 star to 3 stars thanks to an awesome employee named George. I went back to this location to give it another chance since my last experience was terrible. This time i went to activate an Apple iPad Air that i ordered from Apple. I was the first one to be attended n lucky for me it was George. He explained to me how everything was going to work from activation to how much it would b monthly adding the new line. Got me my new sim card for my iPad and was very helpful n patient. George is a keeper. read more

I wish I read the horrible reviews of this place before going. I bought two iPhones here and asked for those phones to be added to my existing plan. Thought that was simple enough! When I looked at my bill online, I noticed additional costly features were added without my knowledge or understanding - visual voicemail, equipment protection, etc. Sales rep was very misleading and not at all transparent with extra charges - and this was during Christmas week nonetheless. I'd like to think it was an honest mistake but reading these reviews, it seems like it's the culture/practice at this location, and there may be a special place for him on Santa's naughty list. Experience leaves a sour taste in my mouth and tarnishes Verizon and Berwyn's reputation. Customer's trust broken! Even though it is the closest to me and I want to support Berwyn businesses, I will never come back here. You should stay away too. read more

Any place that has staff that so obviously don't like their jobs, has a management problem. They are hiring the wrong people. I went there for help setting up my new replacement smartphone. Okay...so I'm not 25: it is just not intuitive. If I need help, I don't think it is a crime. The 30-ish guy who helped, Raul, was not...helpful. His answer to a few basic questions was, "I don't know." Dead face. No apology, no empathy, no attempt to go ask someone who possibly knew more. He also mumbled so badly I could barely understand him. He has NO business working with the public. He obviously hates this job: let someone else more motivated have it, then. I can't speak to what the other employees are like, but this is the second mumbler I encountered. At least that lady (6 months ago) tried to help. This was my second trip to this store, and my last. I will drive out of my way to avoid the staff here. In an era when companies are making every attempt to provide great service to keep valuable customers, this place has dropped the ball badly. read more

We came here after a cluster of a problem with customer service. In our home, boyfriend was getting zero service on his T-Mo phone. I had finally convinced him to get on my verizon plan. I called customer service and talked to them about porting his number. They said it would be a bit of a process but we could get it started. Ok. I'm cool with that. I wanted to get it started in hopes that BF could just go pick up the phone. Well... They ported his number into my phone. My number went inactive and his phone wouldn't even work. Another call to VZW and they tell me the fastest and easiest fix was to go to the store. Off to the store we went. We were helped by Jose. Jose was fantastic!!! He used a holding number to get my number back into my iPhone while he put BF's number into his new phone. Oh. And he comped us a ton for all of the trouble. BF got a free case and screen protectors along with the first payment on his phone covered. Oh and we got a Bluetooth speaker for home. It took a little under an hour to fix this problem but Jose worked with us and solved the problem. Then went a step further and told us that if activation fees weren't waived to call him and he will take care of it. I was incredibly upset when this went down. Customer Service really screwed up this time. Jose made it a billion times better. We will definitely go back to this store and seek Jose out for our phone needs. read more

This place is a joke filled with uneducated employees!!! I have to say everytime I walk in here I have better knowledge than these "trained verizon employees" had an issue with my phone over heating and employees response... "Oh all phones do that"?!? You got to be kidding me!!! I just purchased this phone 3 months ago and its still under manufacturer warranty and their idea of fixing the situation is to call verizon customer service? This place deserves lower than a star!!! The employees are talking among themselves while customers just walk in. I do have to give credit to the only good employee who has always helped and seemed like he actually knows what hes doing and great customer service skills his name is "Cleavland" avoid this place by all means but if you have no other choice go to him. This place is seriously pathetic! read more

My fiancee and I visited this location with the intent for his mother and his phones to be transferred to my account from a different provider. We were confident what we wanted but needed to know the pricing structure of this decision. The moment we walked in until we left, Octavia gave us her undivided attention. She asked all of the right questions to ensure that we were getting exactly what we needed and to be clear about the options we chose. All of this took a little time because of the leg work required by staff in order to switch over lines, but we have not had a single problem since (in two weeks' time.) I would highly recommend that you visit this location and ask for Octavia in particular! She's very friendly and thorough. read more

SNEAKY & UNETHICAL Lied to my face! Stay away from this place....mistakes are understandable and forgivable but the sneaky cover up and lying to my face is a whole other thing.Went in on a Saturday to have an old phone (A Droid Razor Max) activated while I waited for a replacement from my insurance claim. Granted it was an old phone - it worked perfectly before I got there i had been using it over wifi for the past several days but the store associate must have thought it was Motorola's original razor and decided to pry of the back of the phone so he could "activate it". The phone went out. The screen never rebooted but you could see that the battery was accepting a charge. The store manager then told me that the phone died because it was so old. Neither wanted to admit that they screwed up but suggested I go on "Offerup" and buy a verizon phone so that they could activate it. I walked in with a working phone for that exact reason and they broke my phone. Great customer service Verizon of Berwyn read more

By far the worst Verizon store I've been in. I thought because the store was new the service would be better. I was wrong. First, parking was terrible because it's surrounded by restaurants and shops, all sharing a small parking lot. The wait was longer than I liked, especially for a new spacious store with adequate personnel. So finally I'm up and I already know exactly what I want. The lady is so busy trying to sell me stuff, I wasn't sure she was listening. She was actually selling me accessories before she check to see if the phone I wanted was in stock. I actually told her, let's make sure you have the phone first. Once she check the stock for the phone, she went right back to selling. Then proceeded to tell me I needed to pay $100+ dollars to upgrade and she was basing this on another line that I had on my account. I immediately left because she clearly didn't know what she was talking about. I went home and upgraded my phone through the Verizon app without any issue. I will never go back to that store. Ever!!! read more

Live Verizon. This location should be closed. It's by far the worst most unprofessional Verizon location I have ever been to.

I'm really glad the sales rep Cris Diaz was there to help me he truly has a talent in customer service. I got the phone I wanted and he wasn't pushy at all. There is really no reason for this store to exist. You're so much better off upgrading your phone or buying a new one online. The sales reps in this store have no idea what they're talkng about which means they often give you incorrect information. We upgraded our phones here recently. The rep said we'd see about a $15 difference in our monthly bill before any trade in credit. But he didn't look closely enough at our bill to see that we had a promo credit on our previous devices. So the difference was actually almost $70+ per month. Now, we have to go back, return the phones, then wait to buy them again on Black Friday. We should have just done everything online. Even two Verizon customer service reps warned me against upgrading in store because the reps are just there to sell. They're not there to give you good customer service, like studying your bill to make sure the info they give you is correct. read more

I'm giving it 2 stars instead of one, because the VW assistant that helped me, patiently invested the time to try and fix the problem. The problem wasn't fixed, mind you, but he did take the time to try. That's my problem with this particular location: the employees consistently don't know what they're doing. I've been to other Verizon Wireless stores and the staff just seems more knowledgeable elsewhere. I've only been to this Cermak branch two other times, and I always have the same experience. I suppose the staff is nice, but nice and KNOWLEDGEABLE would earn this place another star. read more

I swtiched to AT&T because it is cheaper than Verizon. Also Verizon locks their phones so I had to pay 247.00 to have Samsung unlock my phone because Verizon would not do it and when I spoke to a manager they insisted that they don't lock their phones when they do. Think twice before switching to Verizon because they are pricey, overcharge you for data and then you have to go out of your way to be able to switch to another carrier. read more

Came to this store after tech support made appt for me to get a new chip in my phone because I was having problems getting and receiving calls. After giving them my ticket number I was told I could not get a new chip because my phone is a business account that needs an authorized person to give permission. The tech support person from Verizon never told me this and the person in this store was completely unhelpful. I looked at new phones there and they had a poor selection and he was no help what so ever. It was as if it was a big deal to help me. No one in the store even offered to help me select a new phone for my personal use! I was told to look on their website. Verizon is not what it used to be... horrible customer service. I called Consumer Wireless. What a huge difference in customer service and knowledge. Also much better prices. I will be switching to them. I can see why this store has such poor customer service ratings. Do not waste your time going here! read more

Worst customer service. I was in this store on Thursday thinking I wanted to upgrade my phone, but it wasn't urgent. I talked to Judy and went through some things. As there was no urgent need and I had an appointment, I decided I would think on it. Judy said ask for her when I came back. I went in today shortly after the store opened and I told them I was returning and asked for Judy. Judy was with a customer and could I give her 10 minutes -- fair enough. An hour later, Judy was still with those cutomers, never again acknowledged that was wanting and sent someone else over and the reps milling about never asked if they could help. Tired of waiting, I left without a word. Obviously customer service is not a priority in this store. If I continue with Verizon it will definitely not be at this location. read more

Went to Verizon with my husband because we noticed our business calls weren't coming in. When we attempted to call the business number with another phone, a completely random person answered. Obviously we were concerned, but when we discussed this with the Verizon business manager, it was as simple as resetting an app. My real concern was this happening again, so I asked why this happened because it is extremely important that your company phone works properly. He would not even look at me and only address my husband and I ultimately got a "I don't know what to tell you, it works now". I love Verizon's service but I don't think this is any way to treat a customer, especially if they have 10+ lines. I get it, he doesn't care if our business survives until tomorrow as long as we pay that Verizon bill. Looking for a new phone company that values their business customers enough to not give their company number to someone else and not even care to investigate why. read more

Horrible! Horrible! Service! I came in to the store on 12/22/14 to purchase a new device and to have them fax me an affidavit for my stolen iPhone 6 plus and I have to tell you that the manager who was on duty was very nice but the sales person who he assign me to was just horrible! Well, all I can say is we have been with this company for 20 years... Tried to get a new Samsung S8 for an advertised deal of opening up a new line, and they would not honor it. Their offers look nice to attract new-comers, but lack the ability to retain customers as Verizon is on the decline and apparently refuse to stay loyal to customers who have stayed loyal to them. The manager Yida, was single-handedly the reason they lost our business this week. Terrible customer service on our end, and esentially led us out the door to go to their competitor for a better deal... Great manager. We came back to return a newly purchased phone, at least the sales associate asked if there was anything to be done to keep our service, while the manager Yida walked passed acknowleging us canceling our service without saying a thing... The sales associate was more professional... No "is there anything we can do to keep you after 20 years?" or even a "We're sorry to see you leave" or ANYTHING to make us feel like we were making a mistake. But she confirmed we made the right choice. So thank you, Yida. Sincerely, - A now TMobile customer read more
