AT&T Store - boo boo service

AT&T Store

I've been with AT&T since 2005. Generally, I haven't had any issues with their service (especially…read morebecause I have Sprint-when-it-was-Sprint-before-it-was-acquired-by-TMobile PTSD, but that's a story for another day). I went to THREE different AT&T stories in the DFW area, and the service and attitudes at all three stores was awful. ME: I can't make or receive calls. THEM: Ok, let's see. THEM: Yep, you can't make calls. THEM: Replaces SIM card. ME: Umm, I still can't make or receive calls. THEM: ***shrugs*** WHAT? THAT'S IT? I was thisclose to dropping AT&T and going to Verizon, but I was in a different timezone, so I figured I'd try ONE MORE TIME. I went in the store and there was plenty of entertainment in the parking lot. Alpharetta PD was wrangling up some people who were, let's just say, distributing some illegal products. Despite all the entertainment in the parking lot, the gentlemen in this store were attentive, helpful, and figured out what was wrong with my phone. (*Side note, if you have an unlocked phone or do a lot of BYOD moves on your account because you lose/break phones all the time, beware...) Jorge was especially helpful in looking at my phone and trying quite a few troubleshooting steps, and eventually determined what the issue was with my phone. Too bad I had to travel over 800 plus miles to get the issue resolved, but oh well. I'm happy now that I have a working phone. AT&T - Jorge saved you a customer. Make sure to give him a raise.

I arrived at this store with my gf and waited patiently for our turn around 45 minutes. One co workers friend came in and got helped right away while we were here 30 minutes prior. This store employees do have an IQ of 12. I don't know who hires these employees but my baby brother could work here and possibly be better than any employee here. This is a very sad place with very minimal help. I don't understand how we could be invisible, we are very tall individuals. They might as well hire me as a worker and I would turn this place around.

From answering questions to mapping out different plans, she made the process efficient and easy for us. Halfway through the process she told us she was in training! AVOID like the plague! NOT WORTH whatever short-term deal or promotion they're offering!! I was…read morenear the edge of cellular service area (be sure to check coverage map first!) so our calls would get dropped at home or the call quality was abysmal. We decided to switch carriers and T-Mobile made it near IMPOSSIBLE for me to SWITCH TO ANOTHER CELL SERVICE (to Xfinity). I literally spent at least 10 hours trying to get the IMEI transfer passcode. Trying to find a competent phone representative to get the transfer code inconceivably difficult. I'm sure making it this much of a PITA to leave is intentional. Just fill call centers with reps largely overseas, poorly trained, sometimes unable to speak English (not bashing them, wish I was bilingual) to increase the FRUSTRATION of switching in hopes you'll give up and stay with T-Mobile. At one point a rep told me there was NO WAY for me to prove I'm the account holder so COULDN'T assist me. You just cannot make crazy things like these up!! So, I was told to go to a local T-Mobile store and show my driver's license. ONCE THERE, the store employees told me ONLY way to get the transfer code WAS TO CALL THEM. Call rep says go to store; store tells me I need to call. Seriously??!! ---- THE WAY OUT! --- The retail store had a HUGE floor to ceiling window at least 50-feet wide with a public sidewalk near a at eye-level. We have a right to peacefully PROTEST on public property (with few exceptions). I told the store manager I was going to BE ON THAT SIDEWALK this weekend along with some teenagers (cheap labor) with signs stating T-Mobile's service was horrible, go ANYWHERE ELSE for cell service, etc. They gave me the transfer PIN within 5 minutes!!
