We received three quotes for the repairs, and One Speed Services stood out immediately. They were fairly priced, incredibly informative, and professional--so we hired them. They handled a large, labor-intensive job for us, all while working around a very tight schedule with our buyers. The scope of work included containment and removal of contamination, installation of a new vapor barrier, rodent exclusion in the crawl space, replacement of a damaged vent termination, and installation of vent wells around the entire house. The technicians showed up on time every day, dressed in uniform, and arrived in company vehicles. They were clean, conscientious, and respectful--never leaving behind a trace of debris. During the project, there was a brief miscommunication. We contacted the office, and they had the owner, Chris Gage, personally call us. Even though his technicians were fully booked, Chris rearranged his own schedule and came to our home for several hours to resolve the issue himself. That level of service is rare and incredibly appreciated. After leaving voicemails for 3 other businesses who never called back, I found Don on Yelp, called, and he picked up right away. I told him I was needing a bedroom window replaced and gave him the ballpark dimensions of the window measurements. He asked some questions I didn't know the answers to, but was patient and helpful with walking me through how to tell the difference in order to answer. I liked that I was able to text him a picture of the window so that he could visually see what I was talking about, and he was able to give me an estimate soon after. He came out later the same day to assess the window and take accurate measurements. He gave us an estimated time of when he would be able to replace the window (he came out on a Thursday and got the window replaced by the following Tuesday) and was on his way. Throughout the entire process, I appreciated Don's clear communication along with the updates. The pricing was reasonable and the install was quick (even though I talked his ear off the whole time) and took less than an hour. He cleaned up any mess the install left behind and even wore shoe covers when he had to come inside to get to the window. Don was respectful, transparent, and was able to maintain great communication throughout the entire process. His pricing was fair and the installation was quicker than expected, but efficient. This man pulls permits for one thing and then hires unskilled labor to do the work. He pulled a permit for low voltage telecommunications lines and then proceeded to bill for more than $20,000. worth of claimed electrical work. Because of the false information given at the time of the permit the true butchered, so called new runs of electrical wiring and a house full of fixtures were not inspected for what they were, just what he described on the permit !! I see he has used one of our pictures to show some of our damage. The damage is real any work he claimed was NOT! He doesn't show how the gouge out electrical wire was "repaired" with black electrical tape vs. the new runs he charged for. Nothing about this company or this man is above board. For your own safety and peace of mind it would be better to sleep in a tent than to have such terrible unsafe work done. He worked on house from 12/12/2016 until 6/28/2017 and for more than 2 years we tried to get; as stated from Pemco "contractor's poor workmanship" repaired, and or refunded. The system in place is not set to help homeowners !! The most L&I does is check for a valid contractors license. When was not found Scott McDilda was fined $1000. which was reduced to $500. when he finally obtained a license.
