Joseph is knowledgeable about many plants and trees. To his credit, when he encountered one he wasn't familiar with, he set about educating himself so he would do things right. You drive up on a scale and they weigh your vehicle, then you drive into a massive building and dump your junk. They reweigh your vehicle and charge you based on the weight of crap you threw out. This isn't a "landfill". It's a processing station. From what I've seen watching their videos, Portland's solid waste is trucked out into the high desert somewhere and buried in a landfill. This transfer station works to pull out all of the recyclables before that happens. Remember to cover your load.
