This I had looked up places to eat in Capri that were not too expensive and this one came up on the list. Quite by chance we ended up in this area and very glad we came here for lunch. Food was lovely and servers were also really nice. The breadsticks on the table were so so so good. My sister actually took some extra home haha. They had a salt + garlic flavor as well as a plain breadstick. Honestly both were really good. Fresh bread we brought to the table was also nice. Eggplant Parmesan was amazing!! I really love the flavor here and everything in the dish overall. Tried it at another restaurant the previous night for dinner but this was so so so much better! Fried calamari and shrimp had good portion size. I love the actual big heads of the calamari (the rings were a bit too oily and didn't seem to have substantial flesh, but the actual heads were nice!). Got the Pizza with the tomato, mushroom, sausage and hot pepper; Viva really hoping it would be spicy because of that hot pepper but it wasn't really spicy. Quite a fresh and hot pizza though. We saw the steam coming off when it came to the table. Definitely a good sign. Everyone loved that pizza!! Ravioli Caprese was also decent. I'm not too much a fan of tomato sauce so I preferred it without the sauce itself, but everyone seem to like it. Veal Escalope aka Scallopini (game with like a lemon white sauce) was simple but a good source of protein. Not a fatty cut of meat - more like lean protein and one of the cleaner items on the menu which I appreciated. Torta Caprese was the highlight for dessert. Rich and chocolatey and the crunch from the nuts was amazing. It was a little too crumbly though so we couldn't get proper spoonfuls on the fork. Also got the Tiramisu but it wasn't as good. This was the best restaurant we had been to Italy. The vibes were amazing and all the wait staff were so fun and kind. We got the fried mozzerralla which was American mozzeralla sticks * 10 in flavor. The eggplant Parmesan, frutti de mare, and the octopus were all fantastic. Food was good. The place is well decorated and has an attentive staff. However, when it came to paying, it was made clear that if you were paying with a card they did not like you. I understand if this costs them a fee, but to make customers feel guilty for paying for their meal in the most modern and common way is not appropriate nor called for. Verginiello is a MUST for lunch in Capri. Our boat driver suggested this for lunch and I am so happy that we went with his recommendation. The views are insane. The dining space has large windows that face out into the bright blue ocean. You'll need to take the cable car to get up to this part of town, and the views from the top make this absolutely worth it. Everything here was speedy. The New Yorker in me was loving it. It was quick to be seated, place our order and get our food. The calamari was some of the best I've had and was perfectly crispy and salted. The portion was huge and fairly priced. The pizza was just next level tasty. Hubs and I both agreed that it was our favorite pizza in Italy. There are tons of different pie combinations, and we went with ham, mushroom and olive. This along with the app was plenty for two at lunch. My only complaint about the pizza is that they do not cut it, and the olives had pits (sort of weird when biting into the pizza). This is a fabulous option for lunch in Capri and if you are visiting I'd strongly suggest adding it to your dining list. read more

We went to lunch here in the summer and it was delicious. We had calamari, caprese salad, seafood pasta and seafood pizza. Everything was very fresh and my favorite part of this restaurant was the beautiful oceanside views. They keep the windows open and the fresh air comes through. Service was efficient. If I could give 4.5 I would....food was excellent. Last day on the coast and we went to Capri. Views are without question some of the most beautiful you'll ever see. Portions were "American style" large and very good. I had the homemade pasta with tomato and eggplants that was great. My wife and daughter had pizza that was really well done. They even had fried cheese--which is so good it makes you wonder what kind of garbage regular mozz sticks are in the US. All in all, good, views, and service were great. Even the pricing was good at around 100 euro for 3 with wine and appetizers. One issue...getting there. None of the maps apps seem to work and it's a headache. I'd highly suggest just asking a local rather than trying to walk it yourself. All in all...great food and experience! read more

I had a Thanksgiving pizza here! Off the main drag, down a stone stairway, so you might walk by it without even noticing it. Fewer tourists, more locals. I had a good wood-oven pizza ortolana rossa (veggie with red sauce). That's not a glass of wine in the photo; it's olio picante (ask for some with your pizza). Two big rooms with views to the sea. Good prices for Capri. NO COPERTO! One of the few places even open off season in November. Free WiFi, but it came and went. It was recommended by my hotel's owner. We were recommended this place by our boat guide who said this was simple and inexpensive food. Would definitely agree - food was very simple, straight forward, and prices were very reasonable considering you are in Capri. However, service is unfortunately seriously lacking - the food came out so fast that I was still eating my appetizer as my meal was served. They dropped it on the table and walked away. Then we waited for more than 40 minutes to get anyone's attention for the check despite asking for attention multiple times. And my friend is native Italian!! A local favorite, hard to find, below the post office. We were recommended by one of ladies at the local shop. The restaurant was very busy for lunch, mostly with locals rather than tourists which is good sign. Good size portion , my appetizer filled me up with large portion of octopus. It was perfectly cooked, lightly seasoned. My main however was disappointing. I ordered home made pasta with seafood. Pasta was too thick and overcooked. Didn't have much flavor and bit salty. My BF ordered ravioli capresse which was very nice and a main if sword fish which was well cooked but bit bare on the plate next to a big lettuce leaf, but overall good value for the money. One of the point noted was the service was bit disappointing, not in any way rude. Two starters came out totally out of order, I already finished my appetizer by the time my BF's appetizer was delivered and his main only delivered after my main plate was cleared. read more

Seriously the best meal I had around Napoli and Capri/Anacapri. Take it from someone who's lived in Italy for the past 5 years and having had extremely top-notch Tuscan and Sicilian cuisine. This place was recommended to us by the deposito baggaglio guy down the street, who said it was where he and all the locals eat. It's a little bit off the main road down a narrow corridor, which weeds out the most clueless tourists. We ordered the pasta with eggplant and mozzarella, called "aum aum", and it was super delicious, and a huge portion. Easily split between 2 or 3 people. The noodles were spinach and chewy and thick, kind of like the consistency of udon or pici. We got grilled mixed vegetables as a contorno and they were perfect. I had the grilled calamari which was grilled perfectly and seasoned very lightly. Crispy legs and slightly charred, just as you'd expect. My boyfriend got a pizza margherita which was comparable to Sorbillo in Napol. Overall our bill was 47 euro for an uncrowded, sea-view meal in Capri. Try to top that! read more

Not sure I necessarily agree with a previous reviewer. We went on a Saturday evening and arrived at 8:00pm and were sat straight away. Service was attentive throughout while the restaurant continued to get busier. Casual, family style and inexpensive which was exactly what we were looking for. The gnocchi was very tender and the sauce tasted very fresh. From my husband and me: marinated salmon appetizer was phenomenal in a citrus marinade with arugula. We read about this place on our guide and they also suggested it in the hotel where we are staying. The service it's fast and polite, the place it's down to heart and comfortable with a beautiful view on Naples and the Vesuvio. We had a caprese salad and the fried fiorilli (zucchini flowers) as starter and scialatielli with fresh tomato, capers and black olives + fried calamari and prawns as main. Not worth going there, from my point of view (we didn't have fish though). Service was unfriendly, at times almost rude (e.g. cutlery "dropped" on the table). Food was mediocre. Gorgeous view - well worth the hike up from ferry. Beautiful ambiance but I had issues with our waiter. Challenging English - was out of Pinot Gris so recommended another which it would have been nice to sample before buying the bottle, because it's was a sweet - which isn't how I would describe a Pinot Gris. When ordering our pizza we received half the order - wtf - I ordered a pizza with ham, cheese and mushroom - 3/4 of was that and the rest was tomato with olive? I said what happened to the other section? We didn't order an olive pizza. Que? No! I ordered ham, salami, mushroom and cheese - my pizza has no olives. So why is it like this? so after relenting to my complaint he took the pizza back and brought us another but it was half mushroom/ half ham. Didn't complain until I saw our neighbor who ordered the same and there's look gorgeous next to ours. So for that reason I giving them a so...so rating.
