Called to request a foundation inspection, as the home is 30 years old, we have some very minor…read moretile cracks, and do see some seasonal movement in door openings (mostly one upstairs one). Some brickwork is cracked around suspended arches and cornerstone decorative pieces (e.g. above garage doors) but obviously has been for decades. I specifically called Cornerstone because I wanted a serious contractor who does actual poured footings, not that stacked cylinder mess that could actually crack your foundation worse as they use your house for the jack leverage. Dave was on time, courteous and (given that our appointment was in the middle of the Viral Apocalypse) understanding that I was working from home instead of 'off' for the day of our appointment. We spoke for a bit, he outlined everything well and asked pertinent questions about my reasons for calling, then got down to work inspecting...and recommended no work be done at this time. I offered to pay a service charge but he said that wasn't necessary. We did follow up on the phone briefly (I was busy when he was finished) and I am strongly considering coming back to them for some drainage improvements here and there as precautionary measures. After our blind dog fell in the trench, we went and bought the fencing and had them put it up. Well, the job took 2 months to complete. Now, I've got bugs coming out of the drains. Mosquitoes, gnats, flies. They dive bomb me while I'm on the toilet. The best part, I was taking a shower, I look down and there's a big black flat headed worm in the shower with me!! Called a plumber and they tell me the toilet drain is not working, and sewage is bubbling up from the pipe. It's going to cost $6,000.00, to fix. I called eco star and they said it's out of warranty so I'm on my own. I'm 66 years old old. My husband and I are on social security. We now have to take out a loan to pay for repairs. Because of eco star, I hate my bathroom and wish I'd just left it alone. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ECO STAR!!!!

Examples: a chandelier over the tub was mounted to a plastic box sitting directly on ceiling drywall with the cable unsecured along the attic floor; several items required rework, including a custom vanity with an off-center sink cabinet, unlevel countertops, and visibly slanted shelves; the plumbing work had multiple problems and the plumber and his sister were fired. Ther are many, many other things I could mention. The project took over eight months instead of the four promised, with work gaps of days and sometimes weeks. I met with the PM three times to create a timeline, but they fell behind every time. The only reason he gave was schedule conflicts with other jobs. One positive: Guillermo and Jose were responsive and fully guaranteed their work. They made sure I was satisfied with the end product before ending the project.
