This is just laughable. I set up a free estimate, and Ben came to the house. He started off by saying that the concrete flooring was still wet, and that he could call his own mitigation people out to take a look. This was a strange thing to say, considering I JUST had Servpro take their equipment away the same day, and they are an incredibly large and reputable company. I declined his offer, saying I would speak with my mitigation company first. At the end, he suggested he call his own mitigation company. I finally asked who it was, and lo and behold! It is Your Home Expert/Restoration Experts, which was the company that completely took advantage of me last year! I knew there was something fishy, when he kept pushing me to call out another company and asking for the insurance estimate. I have a review on all platforms about my experience with YHE/ER. They are a slimy company that takes advantage of people in distress. Any company that recommends them should be ashamed of themselves. By association, they must also be in the business to make money, not take care of people. They even use the exact same estimate/document platform (joistapp). To tie it all together, the estimate from Novastar came in at over $8,000 (NOT including materials), whereas the FOUR other quotes I requested all fell within $3-5000. read more

Having done a few projects, one of the issues we always had was an excellent and friendly sales pitch by the project manager/owner but a shoddy Job by the subcontractors hired. This was the first time we noticed that the pitch was as good as the work done by the sub contractors hired. Ben (owner of Novastar Constructions) right from the start was very easy to deal with, transparent and clear about what can or cannot be done. The work started exactly when it was promised and was complete on budget. Ben and his sub contractors were very considerate of our young family and did all they could (include work through the weekend) to get the job done sooner. Window technician was a no show. My appointment was confirmed through Yelp and through this company's Yelp chat representative, but no one ever showed up to give me a quote on my windows. The day of, I sent another message confirming if the technician was on his way.... No response. This company wasted my time, especially since I had to take off work to meet the technician, and did not even bother to give me a reason or heads up for a no-show. I tried calling the number listed on Yelp and Google, but no one answered or called me back.
