We chose these guys because they had treated a friend's house. The man who I had talked to over the phone and the two that came to clean were professional, yet patient with my questions. Lo and behold there was only dust build up! They even charged half the price that they had originally quoted (which was already a lot less than the first company.) During the past few days of this Texas arctic blast, we had a frozen drain pipe that began shooting…read morewater out of our washer, spilling onto the porcelain tile floor and around the corner into the living room - causing minor damage to the engineered wood floors. We were referred to CWF by A#1 Air. Project Manager Oscar showed up to assess the damage later that same day (Wednesday, Jan 17th)and walked us through the process. During his time here, we contacted our insurance company to file a claim which was initiated within 20 minutes with a representative over the phone. Since Oscar was present, it facilitated communication. Oscar gave us a two-hour window between 8am and 10am and said that we should expect to receive a call from dispatch informing us that they are on their way. He also took a series of pictures before he left so that he could inform the crew of the events that transpired. On Saturday, January 20th, the mitigation crew removed a portion of the engineered flooring that was affected and promptly placed industrial fans on and around it. They informed us that they would be back to pick up the equipment (in 4 days) after the area has completely dried and answered any questions we had. Kris, Sheldon, Gabriel, and Oscar were professional and knowledgeable - explaining everything about the process and I appreciate the time and patience they took on a Saturday morning to help us. We are going to go with CWF for restoration as well.

Examples: a chandelier over the tub was mounted to a plastic box sitting directly on ceiling drywall with the cable unsecured along the attic floor; several items required rework, including a custom vanity with an off-center sink cabinet, unlevel countertops, and visibly slanted shelves; the plumbing work had multiple problems and the plumber and his sister were fired. Ther are many, many other things I could mention. The project took over eight months instead of the four promised, with work gaps of days and sometimes weeks. I met with the PM three times to create a timeline, but they fell behind every time. The only reason he gave was schedule conflicts with other jobs. One positive: Guillermo and Jose were responsive and fully guaranteed their work. They made sure I was satisfied with the end product before ending the project.

I asked them to send their top-notch expert technician, and I was very fortunate that they sent Jason and his excellent assistant (Ricardo) to my home the next day. They carefully removed (and disposed of) my old water heater and did a beautiful job of installing the new one (it was made by A.O. Smith Corporation). The installation job required several hours but it was clearly done properly. During the entire installation process, Jason kept me well informed. I highly recommend Legacy Plumbing for any plumbing or water heater installation needs. This is a very professional company what goes out of its way to provide exceptional customer service. There was no sales pitch and no pressure. Turns out the contractor failed and Chris, being his amazing self, showed me what was wrong, how he figured it out, and more. I honestly cannot recommend Nicks enough. They're honest, kind, and fast, and will continue to be my AC go-to's.

Sadly, the owner of Nick's passed away and this company is now owned by Dunrite. I called that company based on the reviews of Nick's Air Services, but their services has definitely NOT been the same as mentioned on this profile. In summary, this company is expensive, can make improper recommendations, and the office is very difficult to get anyone to call you back. I absolutely would not use them again in the future and - had I read their Yelp profile for Dunrite Heating & Cooling - would never have called them in the first place. My experience: My air conditioning due to leaked refrigerant due to another HVAC technician not correct. Nick's/Dunrite came out during the same day and quickly identified the problem. There was a leak on the schrader valve. They got us back to running - for nearly $200/per pound of refrigerant. 5 lbs = about $1,000. Wow, but we had no choice as my original installer was not available. Our unit has not been keeping up with the 90s for the past two months and the technician recommended 3 different options. I chose 2 of the 3 options: a larger return air duct AND repairing the plenum. I was anxious to get the work scheduled and it took me hounding them to get them to schedule the work. Communicating with this office was very painful. I would never get calls back and would just get a text message indicating when they had scheduled the appointment. Their front desk support was exceedingly helpful but not empowered to do anything besides schedule appointments and pass along info. I finally had the appointment and the technician went to the wrong address. I got a call from them saying they had been at my house and then they proceeded to the next job. I spoke to them and learned they were at the wrong house, but could not turn around to go back to my house. I had to wait until the following week to get the appointment rescheduled. What a disaster. It got worse. The work was finally done - the return air duct and the plenum. I waited a couple of days, but there was NO change in the air conditioning. I called them back again and they scheduled another technician to come out. The second technician came out, a more senior technician, who confirmed that the unit was undersized and "working as it was designed" to cool at 75-76. I don't know a single person who is comfortable with 75-76 in the house when the outside is in the 90s. I called customer service again. When I finally got someone, I got a call from William, who is their most senior technician (an older guys in his late-50s probably). He came out with the original technical and instructed him how to properly do a heat load calculation. They determined indeed the unit is undersized and I needed a 3 ton. I called back the customer service asking for a refund to the work. I've called at least 3-4 times, each time speaking with a very nice person. However, I've still not been called back. What a disaster. I've finally had to resort to filing a complaint with my credit card and disputing it through them. It's unfortunate and I didn't want to have to do this, but - when no one will call you back - it's very very hard to trust this company to make things right.
