Gary came to my home and did a thorough inspection my gutters. Then after letting me know that the gutters seemed to be installed nicely and well kept he did something that almost never happens when you call for any type of service, he told me that I wasn't in need of his services and everything looked good. This is the kind of honest evaluation that I think is hard to come by, and pretty much has guaranteed that when/if I need gutter work in the future Gary will be the first and last call that I make.

He gave me the option of a quick patch on our 24 year old gutters, but also recommended a full replacement. We received our quote same day; I checked his price using online resources and found it to be reasonable. A 50% deposit was requested electronically, and my date for replacement was scheduled. The work was completed efficiently and professionally, all the while with great communication from Ben. I highly recommend this company based on their efficiency, communication and great work product. We will definitely use them again.

Overall, I cannot say that I would recommend this company to a friend. Although initial…read morecommunication was great, the company had to make several visits to my home in order to complete the job to my satisfaction. I spoke with Ben at AM Gutters and scheduled an estimate for December 10th. He texted the morning of the 10th to ask if we could reschedule for Wednesday the 11th, I told him no problem and ended up getting an estimate on the 11th for which I signed a contract. I was told that his crew would come out to install the gutters on December 18th. On December 18th, the crew still had not shown up by 3 pm that afternoon. I texted Ben and he let me know that they were on their way. When they showed up, the vehicle had the name and phone number of another gutter company which concerned me. I called Ben and he reassured me that these individuals were not subcontractors, that they were part of his crew. Because of their late arrival, the gutters were not finished that evening and I was told that they would return the next day to finish the job. The crew did return on December 19th to finish the job and Ben sent me a text stating that he had inspected everything and that it looked great. Since I had arrived home late that evening I did not look at the gutters until the next morning, December 20th. When I went to inspect everything, I noticed that the downspouts of the gutters were all at different heights, and that some of the gutters were draining directly next to the foundation. My understanding is that gutters are supposed to divert the rain water away from the foundation to avoid shifting of the foundation, so gutters that dump rain right next to my foundation were unacceptable. Also the fact that the downspouts were all various lengths looked unprofessional. I had also paid for screens to be installed on the gutters so that leaves would not accumulate in the gutters. When inspecting the screens, I noticed that there were a couple of gaps between screens that were installed, totally defeating the purpose of the screen. I contacted Ben on December 20th via text message and sent him photos of the things that I would like corrected. On December 30th, a different individual, in a completely different vehicle with yet another gutter company name and phone number on the side, came to inspect the gutters and see what corrections needed to be made. This same individual then returned on December 31st and finished the job satisfactorily. I feel that this company does use subcontractors to complete their gutter jobs, or at least several different crews, and the quality of workmanship depends on which crew you get. I have included photos of the different vehicles that showed up to my house, and the downspouts of various lengths. In the end I am happy with my gutters, but the whole process was frustrating.

It is SO rare to find people like Jantzen in any sort of home services business. He is incredibly…read moreknowledgable and can be counted on to give HONEST advice and guidance. His pricing is incredibly fair, and he's never going to push you to spend money you don't need to spend. Jantzen has spent SO much time talking through various roofing issues with me over the years, and not once have I felt the least bit of pressure from him to make a sale. EXAMPLE: We recently had a contractor's crew working on a small addition to the house, and while they were on the roof, they told us the entire roof needed to be replaced. They texted me some photos they took of the roof while they were up there as "evidence." I sent the photos along to Jantzen, and he set up a call with me and spent the better part of an hour talking through his analysis of the roof based on both their photos and his experience being up on the roof itself in the past. With all that time and effort, you'd think he'd be pushing us to have him replace the roof, but he literally told me that we did NOT need to replace it at this stage. He just wanted to take the time to make sure I fully understood the state of the roof and his reasoning. This was consistent with every experience I've had talking with Jantzen about questions about our roof. He takes the time to talk through all issues in detail; you will never feel rushed or feel like he has more important places to be. He is really and truly dedicated to making sure that anyone he works with receives his full attention and the highest quality service. Attached are some photos of a repair he completed last week, removing an old vent that had started to leak into the attic and patching the roof over the spot where it was. You can see how tidy and organized the work is. I didn't even ask him for step-by-step photos, but that's the sort of attention to detail you get with Jantzen. He knows we can't tell what's under the shingles, so this way we know exactly what was done. Again, his honesty is so refreshing in the home services world. I trust Jantzen completely with all roofing needs, and over the years, none of the work he's done has ever failed or needed to be redone. I can't imagine anyone who's worked with him would have anything but positive things to say about him. I will never work with any other roofing company as long as I own a house! If you've stumbled upon this Yelp page, this is the end of your roofing search, I promise.
