I regret ever doing business with Eco Star. First off, they said work would begin in 2 weeks. It was over a month. When they showed up, I wanted to see their work permits. They didn't have any, so I had to wait until they got them. Then, they tell me there is a problem with our plumbing, (i don't think this was true, but I trusted them so I agreed to the extra $10,000.00, to "fix" it). They dug up a trench across my entire back yard. They should have put the orange fencing around it but didn't. After our blind dog fell in the trench, we went and bought the fencing and had them put it up. Well, the job took 2 months to complete. Now, I've got bugs coming out of the drains. Mosquitoes, gnats, flies. They dive bomb me while I'm on the toilet. The best part, I was taking a shower, I look down and there's a big black flat headed worm in the shower with me!! Called a plumber and they tell me the toilet drain is not working, and sewage is bubbling up from the pipe. It's going to cost $6,000.00, to fix. I called eco star and they said it's out of warranty so I'm on my own. I'm 66 years old old. My husband and I are on social security. We now have to take out a loan to pay for repairs. Because of eco star, I hate my bathroom and wish I'd just left it alone. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ECO STAR!!!! read more

COMPANY RATING: -5 Stars. **Research this company before you decide to do any work with them.** They're not registered with the Better Business Bureau.** They forced me to take down my first honest, negative review but this one stays. Ecostar never looked at house plans before knocking down walls and causing severe damage all over the house. They removed 2 load bearing support beams that have cause damage to the structural integrity. Our 2 story house is left collapsing in the center and an actual construction company is fixing all the things Ecostar. They left the kitchen ceiling fan with live wires exposed and could have easily started a fire. They've also cause wire damages in rooms they weren't working on. I'm not quitting these posts with new photos on every platform I can find. If Eric, Mike, Moses or Alon (Elon) show up on your doorstep I'd highly recommend closing that door and begin looking for a competent company with an established track record of happy customers. The Metroplex is full of qualified, competent remodelers. Please don't pick The Temu Construction Co. They only offer a 1 year warranty on their work and we had numerous things breaking while they were still here. Walls were cracking and bending before Ecostar ever left the house. Eric, please stop having Jennifer call my mother and I everyday trying to find out what's going on....you'll find out in court soon enough. My wife and I hired Ecostar Remodeling & Construction to renovate our 50-year-old 4-bedroom house after they did a good job repairing my fence and gate two years ago. Although the kitchen and bathrooms had already been upgraded, a lot more work was needed, including: * repairing cracks, removing wallpaper and painting all walls; * installing vinyl flooring and carpeting in living and bedroom areas; * replacing ceiling fans; * replacing the attic stairs; * redesigning the bedroom closets; * replacing two exterior doors with interior doors (they connected the LR and MBR to a rear patio that had been enclosed by a previous owner years ago). * replacing the front storm door; * repainting the front door and interior doors; * replacing most interior door knobs; * replacing some electrical outlets; * replacing a torn exterior carpet. In addition, we discovered mold under the kitchen sink and in one bedroom that had to be remediated. The project took two months to complete. They completed the job to our satisfaction but there were a few issues to overcome. Communication (or lack thereof) was our biggest gripe. Ecostar arranged for a pod from PODS to be placed in front of my house. It arrived two weeks before demolition work was to begin. We were not informed of any limitations about keeping it parked in the street. After we loaded the pod and demo had begun, a city inspector placed a red sticker on it and warned us that it was in violation of city ordinance. We had 24 hours to get it off the street or the city would haul the pod -- and our stuff -- away for good. The next morning, I had a conference call with Ecostar and PODS. After some resistance, PODS agreed to move the pod to its storage facility at Ecostar's expense. If either Ecostar or PODS had informed me about the city's rules in advance, I would've agreed to pay for storage. However, the project manager had assured me that there would be no problem. Yes, there was! We were not promptly notified about scheduled jobs, either. Although we moved out of the house temporarily, we occasionally dropped in to check progress and do yard work. Once, we arrived to discover two workmen in our garage painting the walls, with some of our remaining possessions pushed into the middle. If we had known that the painters were going to do the garage that week, we would've moved the items out of the way ahead of time. However, no one told us. A second issue was the installation of shelves in the closets. The design included some adjustable shelves, which workers installed after painting them. Alas, they forgot to wait until the paint dried. When I tried to lift one off its pegs, I couldn't. Then I applied more force and the wood split. As I raised another shelf, a peg hung from splintered wood. Also, some shelves were too long or wide, making for a tight fit. This was unacceptable! Thankfully, Ecostar remedied the situation quickly. Although there were a few more problems (such as getting paint on the new floor), Ecostar always corrected mistakes without objection. Their workers were cordial and accommodating, cleaning up after their job was done. The project manager was polite and cooperative while trying to keep the project on schedule. The company got PODS to bring back our possessions promptly upon completion of the project. Overall, we are pleased with the outcome. read more

The Quality of work is horrible they came over one day and started working without blue prints and without a permit. They put up three walls for a patio enclosure and put self tapping screws into the deck above and stated there's no warranty on the patio cover because they didn't do the work but yet they put holes in the deck to secure the wall to prevent leakage. They attempted to install a 7 ft door in a 6 foot space. they cut a 2" frame to 1/4 inch and expected it to be a secure door. Their workmanship is worse then anybody I have ever seen and they expect top dollar. Their out of there mind the worse construction company I ever dealt with. The materials they purchased was the cheapest stuff on the market. I wouldn't let these guys work one more day after I seen their work period. read more

Outstanding transformation of our outdated home in no time. Ari with Ecostar Remodeling and Construction was our Project Manager and visionary throughout the entire process. This was a rather large project , consisting of removing an old, non functioning stall shower the was corroded and remodeling into a large linen closet. The removed a bathtub in same bathroom, that worked but was never used. They made my vision come to life as a HUGE walk in shower. The shelving in my closet was so old. Literally every shelf and rod and fallen/broken . They repaired it beyond perfection . They installed new lighting and added additional lighting, that really helps my aging eyesight. No more CARPET in a bathroom ! The kitchen and dining are also amazing! I am still working on the decor of dining room and will update photos upon completion . The kitchen is beyond what we could have EVER have imagined that it would look like. I am gonna love cooking in there now and even doing the dishes . I am sure that Thanksgiving and Christmas will be hosted at our house . The contractors did amazing work and quickly completed touch ups to ensure perfection at project completion. They also redid the flooring in our laundry and also repainted walls with same texture as the kitchen and dining. They repainted the walls and doors as a courtesy , that hadn't been touched since the 80s . They replaced the old/missing switches to match update as well . We had moved the washer /dryer out to the garage for them to do the flooring and we were grateful when they moved them back for us without asking. I am in the process of adding the last coat on the laundry cabinets and will add pics of final result when complete . When our appliances were in the garage, one day we had moved the microwave into living room that was behind other appliances in the garage. One of the contractors noticed it wasn't there anymore and asked us we had it . Which we did , but I was grateful that they made sure our property was maintained while they had to leave the garage door open while Reno was in progress. EcoStar Remodeling & Construction - After is AMAZING! - General Contractors Near Me - Dallas, Texas

Well about a year or so ago I posted a review about a bathroom remodel job that I hired Ecostar to do. This is a follow-up to that job. At the time I gave them 1 star, due to the fact that it took much longer to do the job than they said and then they charged me $11,000.00 for a mold abatement that should not have cost more than $3000.00. That was the main reason for the low rating. Anyway, the salesman/contractor, Guy, repeatedly told us that all of their work comes with a 10 guarantee. But if you've been told this, you better check on it because unless you have special documentation, you only get a 1 year guarantee. I just found this out the hard way when I called about the caulking around the bottom of my shower peeling up and asked them to come out and redo it. It had started a couple of months before I called them but I couldn't find their phone number. Anyway, to make matters worse, I was told that in order for them to do anything I would have to take down my previous review. I told them that wouldn't be happening because that would like me admitting I had lied, and I didn't. My review bothered them so much that I have had multiple calls, each one from someone higher up in the company. But the idea that they were effectively trying to bribe me with doing the repairs ONLY if I took down that previous post. Although, for the most part, we love our new bathroom as it really did turn out really nice, I would not recommend Ecostar to anyone, especially if Guy is involved. There is much more I could add, a lot more details I could go into, but this will have to be sufficient for now. I'm pretty sure that I have pissed them off pretty bad already. But again, if you were told you have a 10 guarantee on any work done by this company, you better go back and go thru all of your paperwork and make sure. read more

Rubi and Fadi were our project managers, they stayed in constant communication with us and checked in daily on the site while work was being done. We always knew what to expect that day and the next. I chose ECO STAR through Home Advisors after meeting with few contractors. I had Foster as my project manager and he was nice and great to work with. My husband and I just purchased a home and we decided to get the old and outdated kitchen and gave it a new look. I am very pleased with my kitchen and how it turned out. Now I'm happy to have friends over Rubi was great in answering questions and informing details to kitchen remodeling that had never crossed my mind. PROCEED WITH CAUTION Honest Review: The Good: The contractors that were hired that owned their own business were excellent and took pride in their work. My assigned project manager was cordial and charming and the finished product is absolutely stunning! The not so good: 1. Keep in mind throughout the process, they have very creative ways to drive up the cost of expenses. I was ill prepared and for this very reason, I would have felt more at ease using one of the big box stores for my project. 2. They never promised certified or professional contractors but they did provide somewhat skilled HANDYMEN (pretty easy to figure this out). It wouldn't take a licensed electrician numerous attempts to complete the same job. So many different faces came to our house to perform simple jobs that took several days to complete. The city inspector CONFIRMED the obvious; the plumbing inspection didn't pass(twice) largely due to Eco Star hiring inexpensive laborers and passing them off as "plumbers" and "electricians." Our project: Total kitchen renovation * Length of project left us without a kitchen for nearly 2 1/2 months (Demolition started July 25th, 2023) which was absurd! Believe me, the wait was not due to providing materials; it was due to an inconsistency of finding available contractors. * There was so much paperwork that was shoved in our face at the beginning of the project to absolve them of any liability imaginable, they even handed us an outdated insurance certificate that we noticed well after the project started of course. * You're obviously distracted by the promise of a "dream remodel" * You are then railroaded into financing the project through their "preferred" finance group as the salesman will call them immediately to set up financing on your behalf in order to see what dollar amount you qualify for. No matter what you qualify for, the salesman will get you to sign a CONTRACT CHANGE ORDER FORM right away before the project even gets started covering "finished material!" No matter what you sign, the price will increase during and after the project is complete even if you ask the salesman "what is my total price?" * To ensure you don't change your mind, they send these well-groomed men in black polos the same day or the very next day to throw up this light kit in the ceiling that may or may not work but they cut holes in your ceiling to give you that "no turning back" feeling * One final warning, they will do a mold test (in my case the kitchen) and rest assured the results will come back as NEEDING MOLD REMEDIATION. A quote of $8000 (laughable)! They did their best to accommodate us but fell short in execution. I requested a quote for a landscape remodel. They (Eli) came to my house and took a few pictures. We discussed the scope of the project and they outlined their services. A full virtual remodel with changes as needed and outlined a timeframe. They wanted $850 to start the virtual remodel which would go toward my project. It took 2 months to get a response and when I did it was the pictures they took with terrible photoshopped plants in the pictures. I asked to come back and they kept moving it out. They finally stopped by 2 hours after a scheduled appt and told me they couldn't do the project because it wasn't going to make them enough money. Now I cannot get anyone to call me back. Asked them to come out and give a quote on spray foam insulation. They gave a written quote, I told them I want to proceed, and they said they needed to come out one more time before starting the work for one final talk with me. They arrived, went back in the same attic spaces they were in before, then came back downstairs and essentially said, "Bad news. We didn't measure accurately before. Your new quote is now around $14k instead of $8.7k." I'm ok with mistakes, but that's a mistake over $5k. They wasted my time, and, needless to say, I didn't go with them. read more

We just finished working with Foster, Jacob and the team from Eco Star Remodeling on our beautiful bathroom . I cannot find enough good things to say about Foster and Jacob . They were honest, professional, and showed a lot of integrity. Not to mention, they are also super nice guys. They were always available to address any questions or concerns we had. They came by almost every day to check on the work that was done by the other team members and update us on what would happen next. They have an eye for detail and if something was not perfect the first time, they would have it redone. One thing I like about Eco Star is they are proud of the quality of their work. They always make sure things are done the correct way, they do not cut corners just to save time or use inferior products. Foster AND Jacob always had smiles on their faces. I was planning on waiting until my project (a complete house renovation) was finished so I could upload pictures and speak on the entire experience, but can't wait! I'll upload pictures in a few weeks when everything is done. It's scary trusting a stranger with your money and your house, but Eli - my general contractor - has been outstanding. He's been there for me every step of the way, quick to respond, patient when I need time, and the work he and his talented team has done is so wonderful. I love the two bathroom remodels they completed and I can't wait to see how the rest of the house turns out.
