When I called, Placido answered and told me to text him with my address and a description of what I needed done. I did so, and we arranged to meet at 1 pm on Sunday. He had told me he'd be available any time Sunday. Then he never showed up. THEN, he randomly called me during dinner time Sunday and said he could stop by at 8 pm. Um, what? No. You no-show our scheduled appointment time, offer zero apology or explanation, then interrupt our dinner and ask if you can show up in half an hour, ridiculously late in the evening? No thanks. I contacted Polo Landscape to fix the sprinkler system. He started the job, but unfortunately, he never completed it. The whole experience was very upsetting. A few key points: 1. He didn't show up on time and he ended up rescheduling our appointments several times. 2. He was not committed during the process and always left the job at 50% completion. 3. He always made excuses that he needed more time to finish the job but still required payment for his work, even though things were not working at all. 4. Soon after getting paid, he was challenging to contact, and he needed to be more responsive. Overall, it was an abysmal communication issue during the whole process. I am a retired businessman, and I've found that most of these landscaping companies are not very professional from a business standpoint. I like to set appointments for jobs to be done at my house. I want to use a reliable, established company, and will pay for that. Polo's website looked very good, but the man from Polo came out two hours later than expected. Next, I received no quote from him on the following day as expected. He said he gave me a verbal quote for part of it; which he did, but I need a written quote for the entire job. Worst service ever. The rep was supposed to meet us at 11 am and he did not leave his house until we called him . Showed up 40 min late! There was no input from the guy in regards to the design or plants. I originally hired them to repair a leak, upon finding the leak it was discover the line was tightly wrapped in Tree roots. Also the main valve was extremely hard to shut off. I scheduled them to come back and replace main valve and relocate sprinkler line farther from the tree. This was completed in a timely manner. In checking out the system we discovered several heads not spraying properly and one leaking badly. All were fixed. Also discover another valve that had a cracked body also fixed. They did a very through job of inspecting and repairing the system. This was the first major set of repairs in 27 years. I felt I got a good job for the $$ spent. read more

Rushed job! The task was to remove ALL old rocks, level the area and lay the grass in my backyard. The grass looks uneven (not leveled), and I opened up a spot to find a lot of rocks underneath. The price was very reasonable but should of known something was wrong when it was all completed with a few hours. Also he could never keep the appointment agreed upon. I found my lawn guy broke a sprinkler riser and I needed it fixed quickly, due to the heat and being unable to water part of my backyard. I put out a request on Yelp and Polo Landscapes responded quickly. Placido said he could come the same day to fix it. He arrived at 6:15pm and went right to work. I thought he would just replace the riser, but he suggested putting in a large pop-up head, so I wouldn't have to deal with the issue of a riser getting broken again. I appreciated his thoughtful suggestion. I also had him straighten up a crooked sprinkler in the lawn. He was quick and efficient, and charged a fair price. I used Polo Landscape for 4 years primarily for lawn maintenance at my Airbnb property (which is now sold). I live out of state but could always see from the cameras that it was done regularly, was tidy, and overall in good shape. When it needed to be resown or fertilized he'd text me with photos asked for permission. Unlike some other reviews, Placido (the owner) always responded quickly to my texts. I also used his arborist services to remove an enormous tree after a tornado, regularly trim trees, build a stepping stone pathway, and to weed and replace the bark in garden beds regularly. He would organize the tree removal and trimming to coincide with regular City for quick collection. When Placido noticed things on the property that needed attention he would send me photos (not always landscaping related) which I really appreciated because I was not there to see things for myself regularly. The prices are VERY reasonable, especially for lawn maintenance. read more
