We met with this company over three weeks ago. We have an extensive landscaping and backyard kitchen project we're trying to get done at our new home in Rockwall. The meeting went really well, the professional seemed engaged and came up with some good ideas that we got excited about. He said he'd have a quote ready within the next few days. After that he started giving us the runaround. We heard the words, "I'll have the quote ready tonight," two or three times. A week and a half in, we called the front desk and they acted shocked that we still hadn't received the quote. Despite that, we still didn't get one. Eventually they completely ghosted us and stopped returning our calls. I guess they don't want our business. If you're trying to get an estimate, you may want to reconsider as you'll burn hours of your time meeting with them only to receive no follow up in the end. read more

Our side yard on a zero lot home is north/south facing and doesn't get enough sun. We had them install a subdrain, 2 rockbeds where grass won't grow, and pavers for our side yard along with replacing mulch on our trees. Service was done in 2 days and looks great. The only thing is a lot of debris from the home builder was pulled up while digging that wasn't cleaned up and communication was sometimes last minute, but otherwise everything looks great and was done with care. Very, very good communication during the bidding process, and we negotiated adding some tree trimming when he came out to my house before the work started. The group showed up and did exactly what we asked. Yard and trees look good. Only hiccup was City wouldn't pick up the big limbs (I thought they would), so they sat in the street for a few days until Alex could schedule a truck to come out. I have been burned by contractors before and was nervous that he was going to stop responding. But he answered my texts every time and was great with updates. When he promised me they would show up, they did and cleaned up the street. 10/10, would absolutely recommend, especially with how Alex handled the haul off issue. read more

Alex with Guerrero Landscape took very good care of us! We called him for what I would call a yard makeover. Our entire backyard was dirt, our front yard was just weeds (which overtook the front flowerbed), and we never found ourselves wanting to hangout outside. Alex had a crew come install a 9zone sprinkler system (with two spaghetti lines for flower pots), another crew come plow the yard and lay down sod (as well as install drainage lines to take the gutters underground and away from the house), and another crew install the patio (with stepping stones for a walkway through the fence gate). All of it was seamless. Alex came by periodically to inspect the work, he was very responsive and even helped us by presenting options through out each process. Alex has been an absolute pleasure to work with! We have had issues with drainage at our home since we moved in a few years ago, even after we had a french drain put in by another company. The french drain, unfortunately, did not cut it, and did very little for our drainage woes. Enter Alex. He was extremely knowledgeable and his pricing was incredible compared to several other bids that I received. Of course, I was a little concerned by this, but I took a leap of faith and Alex more than delivered! His guys were extremely hard working and went above and beyond to get our yard in top shape. They even went outside of the beyond the expected scope and repaired our entire irrigation system, as well as cleaned up and put fresh mulch in our flower beds and around our trees. As an alternative to a traditional french drain, Alex recommended a sump pump to extract the excess water from the yard, as our home is situated above underground springs that prevent natural drainage from being very effective. I am extremely happy with this choice as I was doubtful that another natural drain would do the trick. His crew also found a leak in our sprinkler system that we have apparently had for over 2 years! The leak was directly underneath our AC units, so a previous irrigation company that had come out was unable to locate it and said that it was due to the house's main plumbing. They repaired this leak, replaced the backflow valve, and replaced the control panel for our sprinkler system and it's working like new! They also replaced a failed retaining wall for me with a beautiful new stone wall, and then they leveled the top tier of my yard which will allow me to put up a swing set in the future. Most unprofessional experience I've had with a company in years. Thankfully it was brief. Called about a basic but sizable (I'd estimate $30K - $50K). No unique design work, plant materials or challenges with the project. Meeting scheduled for the following day (Thursday) at the property through the answering service that picked up the call. 30 minute drive to the property the following day and at the scheduled meeting time I get a call from the answering service that due to a medical emergency they needed to reschedule. More important and completely understandable so we reschedule for Monday. Received a text 1 hr before meeting confirming time / address and responded affirmatively. Another 30 minute drive to the property and receive another text at the meeting time that they aren't interested in the project but please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything they can help with in the future. I replied "absolutely ridiculous". Got a reply that a "specialist" reviews appointments 1 hr prior to meeting and had determined they didn't do this type of work. It's basic landscaping! They claim to "take care of everything" from design, maintenance, irrigation & sprinklers, trees, plants, beds, etc. Don't waste your time, there are too many other good options out there - they don't do what they say and are obviously not who they claim. read more

The communication from this business is awful. I was ready to move forward with their work based on their reviews, photos and some of the communication. Once I mentioned I'd like to move forward with them they completely ghosted me. There's no clear path forward and I asked several times over the phone what's a clear path forward/next steps. I tired to follow up via text and phone call many times, nothing. It made me very hesitant on using them. From my experience/understanding there are no contracts or anything. Which makes things very hard when trying to hold contractors reliable. I don't know if they'd be quit half way through the job or something. This is an edited review. I was so happy with my landscaping in the front of my home in November. ecstatic! He was contact, easy to get call backs, everything was great. fast forward several months- I was pretty sure the frost killed the biggest tree that had been planted. I tried to get in touch with Alex- not for a refund- but for advice. The only thing he called me back to say was I can't refund you, and never came by for the advice I asked for. Turns out, when I pulled the tree out- it was in the shape of a pot- it wasn't even properly planted. Just now, I had to pull out 4 more plants- all just like they came out of pots. They were never planted correctly. If I'm lucky, the others have broken through being root bound in their pots, if not, every plant will die. 2 more are looking as if they are going to die soon. the best thing I can say is I'm not going to dig holes. read more

We needed a full overhaul of our half-broken sprinkler system, tile removed from a section of our backyard where it was half gone and chipped, and a new stamped concrete dining area and outdoor kitchen. We had to replace more than half of our front lawn due to a HOA note (eye roll). I put a request out and Alex was the first to respond. He was out at the house within the next 4 hours to measure and give an estimate, which was the best that I got. Two days later I texted Alex that we wanted to proceed and he was out the very next day. His workers were VERY thorough in removing all the dead grass, leveling the ground, putting in fresh top soil and laying really good quality sod. In the process, Alex's team found a few broken sprinkler heads which they replaced for free without being asked. The original amount of sod that Alex bought didn't cover the whole lawn but his team was out the very next morning and had the lawn finished before I even knew they had shown up. My experience with Guerrero was first class! I had multiple neighbors (who also got the same HOA notice) approach me and ask who did the work. Highly recommend Alex and his crew! This was my second time re-sodding my lot as the builder's sod was horrible and the company I used last year used poor quality st. Augustine grass. I am so glad I went with this company this time I really enjoyed working with Alex! From the start he helped me to design what I wanted done in the front and backyard and which grass and pebble to use. Extremely flexible as I changed my mind 3 times and he had to keep updating quotes then allowed me to have a flexible payment plan since it was such a large job. I couldn't have been more pleased with the result of switching from crappy st. augustine to the zoysia palisade he recommended and adding the rocks on the sides of the house which completely elevated the look of my home. My grass is SO green and luscious now it almost looks fake random people stop to compliment it all the time!! After installation the crew even came back to cut the yard and did an amazing job and he also provided points and tips for upkeep. This is not a review of the service - but a review of the management/operations. Note that if you read other 1 star reviews, this seems to be a pattern of unprofessionalism/poor management. I called Guerrero Landscape about 9 days ago. Explained I just purchased a house in the Argyle area and needed a bunch of work done. The man on the phone told me great, and that he could come out the following Monday to check things out and get an idea of what needs to be done. A week goes by, it's Monday - I text him in the morning to ask what time he will be stopping by. "Your house is out of my area" is the response I got. After he already confirmed he could service my house when we spoke the week before. Other folks on here have stated they never heard back at all, or they simply didn't show up... so... seems to be poor management overall. Be careful if you want something reliable and timely. read more
