I've really enjoyed all my experiences at Verde. They have great marketing & that's what keeps me coming back (I prefer to try new places rather than continuing going back to the same spot). Between mail coupons & yelp coupons, they are great at enticing me to come back! Their margaritas and delicious & pack a punch, so go easy haha! I'm not sure why restaurants set up in shopping centers where lots of shrubs and trees block a view of the signage and make it easy o miss the entrance. I get they can't control all the street construction in the area, but for our second lunch in a row, my wife and I struggled finding a restaurant. Maybe our GPS isn't as accurate, but I had a pretty good idea where Verde was located and through my wife's sharp eyes and her persistence, we pulled up right in front of the restaurant. After checking in the main entrance, we were able to grab a spot on the patio to enjoy a nice lunch on the patio. She grabbed a lunch margarita special while I tried my first Paloma. Not sure why they put the seasoning on the side of a glass that they give you a straw for. It feels a little weird licking a glass (especially post-covid). We were provided with some tasty house chips and salsa (the bowl big enough to actually dip!) My wife ordered the lunch sized Burrito Mexicano with shredded chicken while I got the lunch Chimichanga with the chicken also. My lunch also came loaded with rice, beans, pico, and sour cream. no skimping! My chicken was light and juicy, but my wife's was much dryer, maybe too dry. The only thing our two chicken orders had in common was that both were woefully underseasoned. Had they just boiled it? Good thing I had all the other sides to go with my entree. There was also a white sauce (Queso) to add which helped a bit too, but the star of the meal should have been the protein, not the sides. Service was generally good, but at times, the entire patio was devoid of any staff, so my wife offered to head inside to see if she could find someone. Fortunately, staff appeared before she had to search. After that, service was better, including getting our bill and checking out. We visited Verde for lunch on a Sunday and had an excellent meal. My skinny margarita was extremely fresh. I can tell they meant it when they said "natural ingredients" were used. I really enjoyed that this menu had unique Mexican dishes. If it's up your alley, you could get grasshoppers or octopus here. We landed on the enchiladas mole and a classic steak quesadilla for balance. The chips were piping hot! Looking for a late lunch date with drinks on a Monday, my husband and I happened to choose Verde. Verde reminds me of the many Mexican restaurants in Indy, but more upscale. We were seated outside and service was quick, as I expected on a Monday afternoon. The Margarita Trio was yummy and well priced in my opinion. I had the elote, and then arrachera street tacos. I've been to verde several times and can I just say that Jose is my favorite server?! He's so kind, courteous and helpful. He highly recommended the octopus the first time he was my server. I was slightly hesitant even though I'm super adventurous and have had octopus before, just not as a main course. I am absolutely embarrassed I convinced my family to come this location. My first time going to Verde was at ironworks and everything was superb. The Fishers location is lacking in everything. Outside of the guac I was completely disappointed in the food. The empanadas I got were wrong, I order 2 chicken 1 steak and received 1 chicken, 1 steak, 1 poblano. Not to mention the dough was under cooked. I order the pollo a la parrilla tacos and the chicken was so dry; also I got the elote as my side and it tasted like canned corn with a dollop of butter and whatever red pepper on the top. I asked for the corn to be swapped out for the rice and that wasn't better it was tasteless and dry. The service wasn't that great, when we finally asked for the check the server was just putting in my Torder when I had gave the order 15-20 mins prior. The order, butternut tacos, was rushed and the squash was raw and flavorless. Going forward I will stick to the place I know will be good at Ironworks. When we first walked in we were immediately welcomed and sat down. The server was able confidently provide recommendations when asked. We ultimately chose Molcajete to share with. I would say this dish is big enough to share for two. We even had to take home left overs. This dish provides a wide variety of taco stuffers. We ordered with a side of corn tortilla. Verde is a more upscale Mexican restaurant than my old standard that I frequent in a strip mall. I met two friends on a Monday night in Fishers at 6:00 and scored a patio table. Note: the patio is on the east side of the building so at that time of day they have plenty of shade. Jesus was our waiter - and I have to give him credit for adding to the fun! He was very knowledgeable and friendly. I arrived first and ordered only water - he came back with chips and salsa. When I opened my Yelp app - bonus!! A free dip coupon came up. Verde has several - and the coupon didn't specify - so I ordered Guacamole. Jesus didn't know anything about the coupon so he went back inside and asked. Sorry - only the chorizo dip is included. A little disappointing - but a win in the end. That dip was very good - I could have eaten it with a spoon! Not as healthy as guacamole...... but here we are! We ordered skinny margaritas ($12.50) - no salt, over ice. Jesus brought back two large martini glasses with some ice in them and 2 shakers for our drinks. He mixed and poured them for us. 3rd friend ordered a house margarita, no salt, and it came in a bigger glass rimmed with Tajin. We were never rushed but Jesus checked back now and then to take our order. Friends ordered 2 street tacos each, no sides. They looked really fresh and were given the thumbs up. A huge plate of Arroz Con Pollo ($16.00) arrived in front of me! Slathered in cheese. Oh my! It was very good, but a little less cheese would not be a bad thing. We visited Verde on a Sunday afternoon around 3:00 so it was pretty empty except for those who were watching the World Cup game. There was a large group from Columbia watching in the bar area and we had a great time watching them and enjoyed their enthusiasm for the game. We ate on the patio which is very nice. If you like eating outdoors, definitely sit on their patio! We started with the chips and queso. This was the most interesting queso I've ever had. It was NOT your usual runny, processed cheese dip. Instead it was actual cheese with tomatoes, onions, and cilantro. Side note: I HATE cilantro. I don't know why I didn't think to ask to leave the cilantro out. Not sure how I felt about this queso though...it was quite filling but not what we were hoping for on that particular day. Other reviews speak highly of the queso so I think it's just a personal preference. I ordered the vegetarian enchiladas. They were tasty but not filled with a ton of veggies. It had a creamy avocado sauce that was unlike other enchilada sauce I've had. Definitely enjoyed that sauce! The hubs had three way fajitas which he liked a lot. They were a little conservative in giving out tortillas but after asking for more, he did get some extra. Service was good and everyone was friendly. Love this place and today we were treated with a beautiful serenade! I mean seriously, this guy sang happy birthday in Spanish at the top of his lungs and he was fantastic. It was the best thing ever. Consistent wonderful food and wonderful drinks in all three locations. Today I got chicken fajitas which were steaming hot and enough to feed three people! We came to Verde because of EatIndy's insta. Verde's sizzling beauty - the molcajete Mar y Tierra - was featured and I HAD to have it so we made the trek up to Fishers. The Molcajete Mar y Tierra is Marinated steak, shrimp, chicken breast, chorizo, Cotija cheese, cilantro, Mexican red sauce in a molcajete (authentic volcanic rock bowl). Served with rice, refried beans, flour tortillas. For $20, this was PLENTY of food for two people. It was a little bit on the salty side, but I was able to balance it out with the free chips. There was also a grilled jalapeno in there, which was spicy but delicious! I've never had molcajete anywhere else so I don't have a good comparison, but I think the dish is alone is worth a visit to Verde! This is an upgraded or improved version of the old Friaco's in the same location. They have a new menu with some healthier options such as the unique and tangy Shrimp Ceviche. It was just chock-full-o shrimpies that is marinaded in lime juice and spices ... it's served chilled which is so different from the burritos and enchiladas that I usually get. My kiddo and hubby were quite jealous and kept plucking out bites of shrimp There was enough to share so I was delighted with the choice. They have drink and meal specials frequently -- we ordered the huge Pacifico, a mexican beer, that was on special which the two of us could barely finish. Another delightful choice. The service was pretty good. They let us taste the Pacifico as well as the Dos Equis Amber and our chips and salsa was refilled several times over -- a real plus in my book! My first time trying and I'm glad I did. It's one of those Mexican restaurants that even looks cool from the outside. Came on New Years to fill a Mexican food craving and as you can imagine on New Years it was quite empty and not busy but that meant more attention for us. Quickly seated with chips and salsa brought shortly after sitting :) water brought in the cool glasses (see pic). Our waitress was very nice and attentive to chips/drinks refills. I went to Verde for lunch with my sisters and we went right when they opened at 11 AM. We were the only people there for a while and our service was really good. You start off with complementary chips and salsa, which is always awesome and they also tasted good.I decided to try the street tacos since you get to choose from a lot of options, you get three choices which is fun to mix and match to try new things! I went for the side of corn, and I asked for it to be Elote style and she said that they could do that but when the corn came out it was just the regular side of corn. Which was fine and still really tasty! My favorite taco out of the three was probably the pork belly, it had a really good flavor and the crispiness was awesome! I also got the chicken Tinga taco and the chorizo taco, the chorizo was crumbly and yummy and the chicken was also really good. No complaints on the food at all! I loved the decor of the restaurant as well, the restaurant is almost in a circular shape but still really spacious. Great place for lunch for sure! read more
