We opted for the 2 can dine for 20$ deal. They don't normally have street tacos so wanted to give them a try. It comes with 6 tacos Side of beans Side of rice We both chose to do 1 of each meat option. The steak was chopped up which was nice and had lots of flavor The pork was absolutely delicious and juicy The shredded beef was ok but lacked flavor and was greasy Rice was terrible and lacked flavor Bean were amazing as usual The tacos needed more onion and cilantro Keep in mind they are small and could use a bit more meat on them In addition we ordered the green chili queso and chips. The queso had a nice bit of heat to it and was creamy and had guacamole in it We also shared the taco of the month which is the Tokyo Drift. It was hands down the best taco they have. I do not have pictures but the vegetarian tacos are terrible. There was no flavor at all.. they literally just threw all the veggies together... The queso is pretty good but comes out in a minute which worries me. Came back to Torchy's, experience was not as good as the first time. We got there at 8:30. They close at 9:30, so we had plenty of time. We ordered food and two margaritas with salt. As we moved to the bar to wait for our food, the bartender informed us that he had put away the rim device to salt our glasses. We had already paid, so what were we to do. We said, "ok." Then we questioned what time they closed. We doubled checked, 9:30. It was only 8:30. I don't prefer a margarita without salt but felt stuck. Also, it wasn't as if we were the last ones to come in. I counted at least 6 parties that came in after us. The chorizo queso was excellent. The tacos were decent. However, while it may seem like a small thing, the lack of salt on the rim of my $12 margarita really sunk this place for me. Came to Torchy's Tacos for the first time on National Margarita Day. Ordered the house frozen margarita, the regular size. The drink is normally $11.55 but today it was $2 off. The drink was very good. We also ordered the full size of salsa Roja. It was spicy and had a kick to it. The cost is $5.25. Unlike a lot of Mexican restaurants, they charge for chips and salsa here. We weren't that hungry so we didn't order any tacos. But we will come back and give them a try. You can place your order at a kiosk, on the mobile app, or at a counter. If you order at the counter, they will deliver your food to your table. There is plenty of seating for countertop service. There is also a nice bar area with tables. If you sit in the bar area, they will come to your table to take your order. The bar has four large TV screens. Excellent for viewing sports. We were able to watch basketball, auto racing, and the Olympics while we had our drinks. There is one TV in the area for counter order seating. They serve Coke products. We like this! There is a self-service fountain area where you can refill your own soda. The service staff were professional and attentive. Our food was served promptly. The bill was accurate. They have a reward club, so join if you go. You get free queso on your next visit for joining. You get points for dollar spend, and you cash them for free food items. We will return and give the tacos a try. Pricing for tacos seems inline with other similar restaurants. Our bill for two drinks and chips and salsa, with a tip, was $33. And that's with the margarita discount. So the cost of the chips and salsa, in total, makes them higher than other restaurants in this respect. We hope they offer specials, discounts, reward member deals, or coupons in the future. They have a good happy hour menu. It runs from 2 to 6 PM on weekdays. They offer half price drinks. That appears to be a good deal! With that deal, we wouldn't mind paying for the chips and salsa. read more

Somewhere in 2018, I was down in TX, and my friend took me to Torchy's. From there, a love story began. I lived in MA at the time, and upon realizing there wasn't one around, very briefly considered opening a franchise myself! When I moved to IL, I once again checked to see if there were any nearby, The closest one was in a suburb of Indy; while still pretty far, it stuck in my memory. When I had a road trip to KY, it would be a perfect halfway spot, and I made it a point to stop in one the way there and back. The magic is absolutely still there, and I once again briefly considered opening a franchise local to me. Alas, as of this writing, Torchy's does not operate under a franchise model. First, let me introduce the elephant in the room: prices. Torchy's is more expensive than places whose names are similar to "Baco Tell" and "Shipotle," but I would argue despite a meal costing ~$5 more, you 100% get your money's worth. But how? Well: Food quality: For a fast casual restaurant, the quality is fantastic. I could quip about the brisket not being the tenderest, most melt-in-your-mouth stuff ever, but this isn't a BBQ joint with a smoker out back. For something which is likely coming from a hotel pan, I have no complaints. Even so, the proteins, veggies, and sauces all have terrific flavor, and are of high quality. I also love that the tacos are superbly well balanced and stay together nicely. For the sides, the queso is fantastic and some of the best I've had, and the tater tots are cooked and dressed to perfection! Service: Everyone working here is kind and friendly. At one point, I'd run out of queso, and had some chips left over. Going by the philosophy of "ask and ye shall receive" I asked, and was given some more queso. Outside of this, even during a busier time, the food came out very quickly. Portion sizes: Both times I'd ordered two tacos and a side. The tacos are delightfully large and not at all underfilled. The sides also fill in the gaps in ones stomach, so much so, this was a case where I didn't have room for dessert! Knowing me, this is a rarity! Final verdict: Perhaps it is a good thing that there isn't a Torchy's in IL, for I would be in there an unhealthy amount of times. That which caused me to fall in love with it in TX is present in this location as well. When Kentucky (rather my friends in KY) call my name again, you can be certain I will be putting Torchy's into my GPS before anything. read more

My husband and I have been trying out some new taco restaurants, we prefer street taco style. When we arrived inside, it was not quite clear how you place your order. We went in and they said we could sit at the bar and order food at the bar. The bartenders were super friendly and great at making suggestions for food items. We started with the award winning green Chile queso dip, I would not order it again. I prefer white queso and did not like the taste of this queso. I like spice with green Chiles, but just something didn't taste right to me. I ordered 2 tacos and my husband ordered the burrito with barbacoa. The tacos taste better to me then Condado tacos, but if I go back, I'd order the burrito. The burrito was filled with flavor, rice, beans, toppings, and was delicious! This was just "okay". I was really anticipating delicious tacos based on multiple social media reels and reviews. I had the Baja Shrimp taco with a side of refried beans. Shrimp taco was good, tasty but average. I appreciated the beans were not heavily salted, but even with adding salt, again the flavor was OK. Chips and salsa good. I have never had Torchy's (at any of their locations) and I am impressed with the flavor combinations and ease of ordering. I was going to order the Street Corn, but after being gifted the chips & queso, I decided to save that for next time. I wanted to try a combination of their "Damn Good Tacos". I wanted some beef, some chicken, some flour tortillas and some corn tortillas, so I ordered the Brushfire, the Chicken Fajita taco, the Crossroads, and the Democrat. Everything was juicy and flavorful. I don't generally like salsa verde or tomatillo salsa, but I decided to trust the process and only use the condiments intended for each individual taco. Everything was so good. Generally, my husband isn't really a fan of Mexican or Tex-Mex food, but the flavors were so on point that I had to save him half of each taco to taste. Even he was a fan! The queso had a slight kick to it and the chips tasted really fresh and crisp as well. As previously stated, I placed the order through the app to-go, so I didn't really have much interaction with the staff. I entered the door labeled "To-Go" and my order was sitting right on the counter. An employee greeted me, and I grabbed my order, gave it a quick check for accuracy and was on my way. It was pretty loud inside for a Friday afternoon, but that just lets me know that they are a popular spot. My only dislike was the price point. Not authentic but if you're looking for a twist on Tacos, Torchys is the place to go. There are many different kinds: chicken, beef, pork, seafood, veggie, just take your pick! The queso is amazing, I would highly recommend trying the hillbilly queso as well. The Baja shrimp was very good, you can get the shrimp fried or grilled. I thought the crossroad would be spicier but it actually wasn't that hot, still tastes great. The brushfire is always a great choice, but the jerk chicken does carry some heat. I suggest going for happy hour, Mon-Fri 2-6, all drinks are half off. Our bartender made a great margarita! They even have a deal of 3 street tacos for $6! read more

There are definitely days when I feel like I live in a Mexican food desert here in Indy - which is exactly why I make sure not to pass up an opportunity to eat at Torchy's whenever I'm near Fishers. I'm generally not a fan of queso but I always make an exception at Torchy's. Consistency is critical to a good queso and Torchy's always delivers with options that are neither runny nor are they too thick to where they become a chip-crumbling solid mass. I usually get the Hillbilly Queso which comes with chorizo - but beware that this queso comes with a nice moderate-high heat. Although there is a diversity of taco flavors on the menu, I have settled into my favorite and always order the democrat. The barbacoa in these tacos is on point but the fatty/rich nature of the beef used for barbacoa might yield a texture some will not like - but it is perfect for my tastes. I usually order at the counter and have never had to wait more than a few minutes to get my meal delivered to the table. It's great to have a little bit of Texas here in the Indy taco scene. read more

Second time is a charm. Torchy's Bonfire Bowl with salmon was delicious. I also had Hillbilly queso and churros. If you don't care for spicy don't get this dip. The churros come 5 in an order and plenty of cinnamon with 2 cups of caramel on the side. The food was good. Our service was fast. We checked out Torchy's this weekend, and the vibe was super cool and inviting. They had some great recommendations, including their churros, which we were excited to try. Unfortunately, they ran out while we were waiting for our order. We had to follow up a few times for an update, which was a bit frustrating, but the staff was kind when they finally got back to us. In the end, the Manager/Owner (not sure which) generously offered us two of their peanut butter cookies on the house--and honestly, I'm so glad they ran out of churros because those cookies were absolutely divine! Got the chance to try Torchys Tacos finally and they did not disappoint. We started off with the queso, if you are a first time visitor then it's free btw, and it was delicious. I went with my sisters and we all tried different tacos. I had the Tipsy Chicken which had marinated grilled chicken, spinach, corn relish, green chiles, cheese, chipotle sauce, and a side of bacon bourbon marmalade to drizzle on top. This one was my favorite. The sauce set it off and brought the flavors altogether. My next taco was the Crossroads which contained smoked brisket, onions, jalapeños, cilantro, avocado, cheese, tomatillo sauce. I'm not a fan of avocado but that can easily be taken off. With the jalapeños it had a kick to it but the brisket was juicy and had all around great flavor. My sister tried the Baja Shrimp taco. This had fried shrimp, cabbage slaw, cotija cheese, pickled onions & jalapeños, cilantro, and chipotle sauce. The fried shrimp was well seasoned and with the sauce drizzled on top, the flavors came together very well. My other sister decided to have the BrushFire. This taco is for the ones who likes spice. It contained Jamaican jerk chicken, grilled jalapenos, mangos, sour cream and cilantro. She said it was amazingly spicy yet sweet. The meat was juicy and a perfect taco for those who enjoy some heat. They also have a Hooky Hour where the drinks and apps are half off from 2-6 pm. I enjoyed a Keepin' It 100 with Dulce vida organic 100 proof blanco tequila, triple sec, lime and agave. The bartender made it perfectly. It was strong but was mixed very well. My sister decided on the Sucker Punch that had rum, guava juice, pineapple juice and grenadine. Not my choice, a bit too sweet for me but she loved it. The waiter and waitress were really nice and attentive. The restaurant itself offered outside seating, bar seating and regular seating. The absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that we were not being treated the same as others. The male waiter, Dillon, repeatedly ignored me when I said "excuse me" while he stood blocking the walkway, as if he did not want us seated in his section. Despite arriving before others, we watched him go out of his way to assist Caucasian guests who were seated after us. After being completely overlooked, my husband and I decided to leave. However, after reflecting on how we were treated, I went back inside to address the situation. I asked for a manager, and in a video I recorded, you can hear Dillon attempting to direct me elsewhere before acknowledging that a manager was standing right next to him. When I spoke with the manager, Josh, his attitude was just as dismissive and rude. He avoided engaging with me until I asked for the store number, which he provided as #103. His demeanor made it clear that he had no interest in addressing my concerns. We were genuinely excited to try this restaurant, but instead, we left feeling disrespected and singled out. We were also the only black individuals in the restaurant, which made the experience even more uncomfortable. This was not just poor service--it felt discriminatory. I will be contacting corporate to ensure this situation is addressed. I've been here once before and this time was soo delicious I can't wait to go back. There's a ton of different businesses surrounding this. ItMs in a small strip with a couple of other businesses and also in the parking lot adjacent to Kroger so there will definitely be plenty lf parking. When you walk in you can go to the kiosk and place your order or you can order directly from behind the counter. Once you place your order, you take a number buzzer and choose a table to sit at. There is a bar area with high top tables and regular dining seating with booths and tables. They have happy hour every day, which is what we decided to partake in. You can also order alcohol from the kiosk but you can't pay until you show your ID to an employee. They will give you cups for fountain drinks if necessary. This is a pretty spacious place. The staff was extremely friendly. We came around 330pm on a weekday. Someone came and brought our food to us and it was so fast, fresh and delicious. My recommendations: the diablo chicken bites (so spicy) and the big tipsy bowl. Also had chorizo queso that was amazing. I signed up for their rewards program and fully intend to use it. I ordered the Green chili pork taco. Green chile pork carnitas, diced onions, cotija cheese, cilantro and a lime wedge with tomatillo salsa on a corn tortilla. I got the salsa on the side. I loved this taco and will get it again and again. And I ordered the Trailer Park taco. Fried chicken, green chiles, lettuce, pico de gallo, mixed cheese with poblano sauce on a flour tortilla. I also got the sauce on the side. The poblano sauce was my favorite. I decided to dip my tortilla chips in it instead of the tomatillo salsa that came with my chips and salsa. Stopped by Torchy's in Fishers because I noticed they had an extensive gluten friendly menu. I was overjoyed to see that there were so many options to choose from. I decided on a shrimp taco, chicken fajita taco, their signature queso, and loaded tots. This was probably one of my favorite quesos I've ever had! I loved that they added guacamole to it. The tacos were huge! I ended up mostly eating the fillings because the portions in general here are great. The half queso would definitely be enough for two if you're having entree items too.
