Tequila Sunrise used to be one of my favorite restaurants, which makes this experience especially disappointing. We decided to stay in and order DoorDash tonight, and unfortunately my chicken quesadilla completely missed the mark. One bite in, and I immediately knew something was off. The chicken had an unpleasant taste that honestly made me question whether it was fresh. I couldn't even finish the first bite. I tried a different piece of my quesadilla and the same rubbery, disgusting taste - out right awful. Unfortunately, there are no photos because the meal was over for me the moment I tasted it. To be fair, the loaded fries were still delicious (and remain my favorite item on the menu), and my husband's quesadilla was perfectly fine. What started out looking like a great meal quickly went downhill when I tried mine. If you've read my reviews before, you know I don't often leave negative feedback, which is why this experience stands out. I've had great experiences at another Tequila Sunrise location in the area, but this time really missed the mark and left me extremely disappointed. I hope this was an isolated issue, but after this experience, it'll be a long time before I consider ordering from this location again. read more

I visited Tequila Sunrise for dinner. The restaurant was fairly busy, but clean, and our server, Emerson, was friendly, though service was a bit slower than usual. I tried the carne asada tacos with a side of rice. The steak was sliced rather than chopped and could have used more flavor, and the rice was just okay. Overall, it was an average experience. Ordered carryout on a slow Tues night. Showed up 25 mins later and had to wait 25 more mins because kitchen staff never made the order. While waiting it became clear they were having other problems with carryout orders for other customers. My husband order from here at least once a month! We order carry out, it's super quick, and the staff is great. We always get one of the queso dips, sometimes the fire dip or the bean and queso. They are all tasty. Another great appetizer recommendation: Chorizo Fundido. We have tried the Taquitos Mexicanos barbacoa, I would not recommend these, They were dry and not flavorful. I use to order the carne asada from here, but the steak is always too over cooked, so don't recommend steak from here, unless you like it well done. My husband always orders his favorite chicken spinach enchiladas and they are delicious. I ordered the carnitas most recently and it's my néw favorite! I came to Tequila Sunrise for the first time yesterday and was impressed by the menu - there are so many options, and the prices are reasonable. My boyfriend enjoyed the fajita burrito- said it was nothing revolutionary, but was tasty. I got the shrimp tacos- the tortillas came pretty soggy, but otherwise they were nicely seasoned and very filling. It may have been because of the free chips and salsa, but I couldn't finish my whole plate! Great for leftovers. I will say that the quesabirria taco was very disappointing- it was very bland and greasy, and there was a good amount of fat that had not been rendered on the meat. All in all, the service was fine and most of the food was pretty decent. If you're looking for a solid place with cheap drinks, affordable food, and large portions, I would recommend Tequila Sunrise. Had lunch with some friends at Tequila Sunrise in Fishers today. While not the best Mexican place, a very sold restaurant. Our server was attentive and got our meals to us within 15 minutes. Solid local Mexican joint. Came here for lunch and had their street-style tacos. Not exactly your LA-style tacos but it's actually pretty darn good maybe even better. The pickled onions and the side of street corn is great for the lunch price. The lunch meal comes with free vanilla ice cream. As for margarita, their roasted orange pineapple is dangerously good. Make sure to get the 27 oz and check if you can still feel the floor as soon as you stand up. Best bang for the buck with the amount of liquor they put in for under $10. My friend said this is her go to Mexican place in town and I can see why! The deals on margs blow most other places out of the water! A 27oz flavored margarita for $10, that's pretty hard to beat! I was looking for something cheesy and chorizo-y after a hard week and I gotta say this really fit the bill. I got the chorizo queso fundido, which came with some corn tortillas on the side. It was so good and filling, I only finished half and now I am sad because the leftovers are in my fridge and I can't eat them because I just got my wisdom teeth out! The temptation!!!! Our margs were delicious and STRONG! We knew we'd need to sit around awhile before we could drive but we were at the restaurant for four hours from start to finish. Thankfully they weren't busy and the staff didn't pressure us at all to move about any earlier. If you like light flavored highly Americanized Mexican food , it might be a good place but if you want to have authentic Mexican or even TexMex food , this is not the right restaurant for you. Redemption! After letting some time pass, we decided to go back to Tequila Sunrise to see if we'd have a better dining experience than last time at the bar -- and we did! Our bartenders/servers were very attentive, helpful and friendly and the food was delicious. For a Friday evening (~ 5:30 until 6:30 pm), we thought it was unusual that we were the only two people in the entire bar area during our visit -- and maybe that contributed to an improved service experience this time? Three or four times here now. Ehhhh, soso. Today was $1 margarita (last Sunday of each month). Just so you know.... you get a $1 margarita. (Don't hold out hope.) I had a few sips, ordered a shot or Gran Mariner to help it. I't didn't, I set it aside, forwent the $1, and ordered a nice frozen margarita. I ordered my standard fare when not sure of what I might get from the kitchen. The house (not table side) guacamole was so so at best, rather bland. I'm not a fan of jalapeño in my guac. The Queso was typical of all white Queso (no nice surprises or secret ingredients.) My two carnitas tacos took quite some time. (Probably due to being short staffed like everyone else.) However, the corn tortillas were soft and a bit greasy when they arrived, but the pork was delicious. So today only 3 of 5 (at best, because I like the vibe or this place, and it's close .) Tequila Sunrise came in and did a total upscale facelift to the traditional kitschy Mexican theme. The menu is large and the food has a mix of traditional taco/enchiladas/quesadillas, but also present a major focus on traditional Mexican dinner plates. Oh, they also have BBQ ribs!!! My guests chose quesadillas which was basically a mega burrito cooked into a flaky shell. My go to for trying new places is the Mole. I ordered the TS Signature Ribeye tacos and the TS Signature Pastor tacos. If you know much about tacos, you know how epic pastor is (and should be). OMG! So good! I've been looking for a new Mexican restaurant - And I definitely found it! The food is amazing! The menu is expansive and there is a great variety. It also intriguing that this Mexican restaurant had other types of food. There was an Asian bowl and some American food choices. We went on a Monday night and the 16 ounce margaritas are only $2.99 on Mondays. Our server told us that they are $1.00 on Sundays. We will definitely go back - for the food and the margaritas! I got the taco platter with half steak and half chicken. The tacos were fresh and awesome. A couple of people in my group had burritos - one was a steak burrito and the other was chicken with cilantro cream. They loved their food too. And I must say that the salsa with the chips was excellent. I got extra to put on my tacos. Our server, Emerson was great! He was friendly, prompt, and helpful. The Covid precautions were good throughout. The restaurant was clean. They have tables spaced well and every other booth is blocked off. I'm looking forward to going back! read more

I don't really have anything too negative to say about Tequila Sunrise. The restaurant is big with plenty of seating. They have an area for patio seating but it was not set up. That's a shame because there is nothing better than sitting outside on a beautiful summer evening. This was my second visit here and I've been seated right away both times. I've only had the vegetarian options here and they've been "fine." Nothing amazing but still ok. This past visit, I had the portobello mushroom quesadilla at the suggestion of our server. Probably should have gone with something else. The quesadilla was covered in spices and was pretty salty. I ended up taking half of it home and it's still in my fridge, now a week later. (Don't judge! I'll pitch it today!) The queso is good. I couldn't eat the salsa because of the amount of cilantro in it. (I have the weird gene that makes cilantro taste like soap so eating it is not great. I know! The horror!) This wont be an issue for most people though. Our service was quite slow this past time but we don't tend to be super picky about stuff like that. The family next to us (who seem to be difficult people in general) were not happy with what they ordered nor that it took so long to get their check. I chalk that up to them being crabby people, though. Will we go back? Probably. It is convenient and takes care of Mexican food cravings just as well as the next place.
