Good value and wholesome goodness in a formula myo salad bar. Major con: if you opt for the basic greens + four adds, it will seem as though you are only consuming greens, and your adds may be hard to spot. The pre-selected salads cost about $2 more but with a higher ratio of goodies to greens. Major advantage over similar restaurants: a chopper that renders your salad into bite -sized chunks. As someone who loves salads but doesn't like to order them because of potentially embarrassing dangling leaves, I appreciated this feature. read more

Second time I've ordered from Verde on King and it will be the last. First time I ordered she said they were busy and I took that into consideration, but an hour to deliver? The food arrived and it was NOT chopped at all. I complained and they sent another salad an hour later. I decided to give them a second chance since I love Verde in Mount Pleasant. It took an hour again, but I was prepared and ordered an hour early. My salad arrived and I ordered it chopped. When you have whole tomatoes and whole spinach leaves throughout and parts are chopped, it is just NOT good. Don't think third time will be the charm. read more

Love this place! Great salads and wraps. I usually great my own concoction, rather than order one of their pre-determined choices. I agree with some of the other reviewers that ordering ahead of time can be a waste of time. The only complaint is that the lines are often long and you have to wait a good 10 to 15 minutes before ordering. read more

I used to love Verde, but have had one too many bad experiences here. The first time, I came in to grab a salad before work. There were the usual number of people working. With two people in line in front of me, I waited for 30 minutes (no joke) to PLACE my order. I found it just a little ridiculous. And then, the girl who swiped my card rolled her eyes at me when I asked for a bag to put my salad in for my walk to work. I let this slide, figured it was just an off day and took another chance since I'm obsessed with the salads. My next experience. I placed an order for pick up thru the Verde app. I made my designated pick up time 45 min from the current time. A basic salad order, no special instructions-- and I paid for it. SO easy, right? Wrong. I go in 45 min later to pick up my salad. It's not ready. I explained that I had placed my order thru the app and the girl seemed clueless to what I was talking about. Finally she checked the board where they hang these types of orders-- "oh, oops" was all I got. No apology, no sense of urgency to make my salad. I work in food & bev so it was very disappointing that she couldn't muster out an I'm sorry or anything. I had been in a hurry to do something which is why i used the app in the first place. Great salads and friendly service. The salads here are tasty...not just a bunch of greens with some dressing to make the flavor. Portions were large and fresh ingredients made this our favorite eatery in Charleston. Unique creations! We plan to come again this visit and next time we are traveling through. Came here for the 365 celebration and they were really busy, however when I got the two salads I order they were completely wrong. Most of the ingredients were missing or were barely added. For example both the salads came without chicken which is the most expensive part. They didn't give me dressing with one of the salads so my salad had no taste. If you are gonna put on a celebration of your 3rd year in business then at least do a good job so you can make people come back the next year which I will not be doing. read more

I had a few really good experiences with verde but thing have gone downhill. I used to order verde delivery about once a week at work. I know, excessive! However, my last few experiences haven't been great. The salads have become smaller and smaller with fewer toppings. If I want wilted lettuce and dressing, I'll just bring my lunch from home. I know people who go here multiple times a week maybe it's because all I hear are girls saying they had salad for (name your meal). The line gets ridiculous in the summer time. It's not bad and definitely somewhat convenient but I don't think for quality and price is Charleston it's really worth it. Was looking for somewhere a bit more healthy while downtown. Everything was really fresh and tasty. The wraps was surprisingly filing too! It was $20 for two chicken wraps which seemed a bit high! Love this friendly place and wish we had one in our town! Delicious soups and salads and I love that they don't even have a garbage can, everything they use is recyclable or compostable. The girl was very rude when making my salad and I asked multiple times if she put any goat cheese in it and she kept saying she did, I pointed out I could barley see any and she pointed to the one little bit she placed in there. We're far from being vegetarians, but after eating so much Southern cooking, we felt we had to eat a good salad and boy were we happy to find Verde. We were in Charleston for only two days (three nights), and in both of them we had lunch at Verde where you can make your own salad and walk out a happy camper. Everything at Verde is fresh, all the toppings and dressings are tasty, and the price is very reasonable. The décor is cute too and the staff is very friendly. I think it's a great addition to the otherwise-not-so-healthy local fair and I wholeheartedly recommend it. If you're looking for a good, fresh salad, Verde is the place to go. read more

After 3 days of eating pretty heavy meals, my body needed a reset and this salad was one of the best salads I have ever eaten! Portions were very generous (I couldn't quite finish mine), and the staff was super helpful with deciding which salad to get, even suggesting add-ons. As a vegetarian, it's awesome to see a good salad place. I love the wide variety of toppings available. I do find it annoying that some of the salads have the meat already included. You would think that a salad restaurant would cater primarily to vegetarian/vegans and offer the meat as an add on, but I guess not. SOOOO YUMMY! I really love their southern harvest wrap and their soba wrap. This place has perfect combinations and innovative tastes (sweet tea vinaigrette!). In Charleston last Friday looking for fresh, delicious food. Stopped in Verde and loved the tasty, beautifully made salads and wraps--both those on the menu and make your own option.
