The best salads I've ever had. This place is definitely my go to for anything green on my plate. From it's downtown location or West Ashley, I've never had a better salad. My personal favorite is the Mesa Verde, which is packed with flavor and color. It is most certainly my go to salad. The Southern Harvest and Mello Bello are also great choices. The store should earn a 5-star rating simply on the salads; however, the customer service needs a tad more work. I got chopped salad with all kinds of goodies and balsamic. I got mine chopped and am loving it my daughter didn't really care for hers. It was dry and not mixed well. He waited in the car right out front (no parking anywhere) and I was able to get right outside before we got in trouble. The only reason I didn't give 5 star rating was because the 2 wraps plus 2 cookies came to $28. Verde is one of my top choices when I'm looking for something quick and fresh. They have a ton of lettuces, toppings, and dressings to choose from including vegan and gluten free options. You can create your own salad or choose one of their combinations, I always tend to go with the Cobb salad and it never disappoints. Their storefront is huge and has a ton of seating. This place has great salads. Personally I thought the salad was good but not breathtaking, but my friends consider them to be the best in town. The salads were also very nicely made and colorful, with high quality ingredients. However the drinks were mediocre, with weak overpriced tea. I thought the menu as a whole is very expensive. I'm a salad lover, and Verde makes good salads. If you follow my reviews, you know that I'm boycotting Caviar & Bananas salads, so this is my only option. Not saying I didn't visit Verde before my boycott; it's just my only option now. TL;DR: don't order online and don't order for delivery. Try their chocolate sea salt cookie and the seasonal salads and warm grain bowls. While I love Verde, I don't suggest ordering online and/or for delivery. Recently, they began charging $1.95 for delivery. I am literally one street over and about 3 blocks up. I don't think their delivery peeps are seeing this money either. $2 for downtown delivery? I have fallen into this trap one too many times, and I'm about to cease and desist at all costs. Also, I hate the online ordering system (Chow Now) that most downtown places use. You can barely customize the salad without being a jerk and being limited to a certain number of characters (i.e. i don't want tomato, but I want to add this ingredient instead or an extra dressing...which are both the same price as the tomato). Just a cluster. Charging for extra dressing is BS. Also, about 1 in every 4 orders is messed up. Today I didn't have the protein in my Cobb on King. Ughhh. My coworker had sprouts added to her salad when she didn't want them. I think this is just because they're so busy, which I have to admit, goes to show that their salads are good. It's just frustrating at times. Recently, the owner contacted me an explained that part of the delivery fee goes towards higher compensation for the drivers, which I appreciate and agree with. While it's not feasible to order my lunch with other coworkers, if you do order over $30, the delivery fee is waived. Pros - the employees are super nice and they are always bustin' it. They also have a loyalty card which is great. If you order in person, the salad is totally worth the price. I love their seasonal salads and their warm grain bowls. Go out on a limb and try them, even if you're a traditional salad only kind of person. I don't think you'll be disappointed! Cons - pricey for delivery (see above). Today, I ordered the Cobb on King plus a cookie, and with delivery, tax, and tip my order rang in at over $17. TOTAL INSANITY. read more

Had lunch delivered by Verde today and definitely enjoyed my meal. I went with one of their signature salads, the Pesto Grain Bowl (spinach, quinoa, tomatoes, roasted red pepper, Parmesan and a pesto vinaigrette). It was light and packed with fresh flavor, yet still really filling. I've had a habit of skipping these salad-focused restaurants in the past. Not because I dislike salad, but mainly because I hesitate to spend close to $10 for one. But given today's meal, I may change my ways!! The flavors really were great and it was a very satisfying meal. (Oh, yeah, you can have them wrap your salad in a tortilla if you're more in a sandwich-y mood.) Tried this place for the first time tonight. Wasn't overly impressed. Felt it was a very average salad. The prices are a little high considering they kind of skim on the toppings. They do have a wide variety of things to pick from and I like that you can do a salad or wrap. Overall, I guess I would come in here if I was craving a quick salad on the go. But I feel you can get better salads elsewhere on King St. it's just there aren't many fast food like options when it comes to healthier options. So I guess that's something they have going for them.
