Cute restaurant near our hotel. We were greeted as soon as we entered the door and seated right away. We decided to split an order of steak fajitas and I had a side of guacamole. I was surprised that the guacamole was not chunky and was creamy. I added jalapeños, cilantro and onions to it. I have never had squash and mushrooms in fajitas, but it wasn't a deal breaker. I stopped for some good Mexican food and this place really surprised me. Being a Texan I like to try places in other states. I ordered the "Texas Fajitas", not quite "our" Fajitas but I was pleasantly surprised with theirs. The single order was huge, came with Shrimp, Beef, and Chicken along with mushrooms, green peppers, yellow squash, and grilled onions. The sides were Refried beans, Spanish Rice, a dobble of sour cream, guacamole, and pico de gallo. Their salsa was terrific, the atmosphere was great, music not too loud for conversing. The service was Top Notch, I didn't have to wait nor ask for anything. Definitely a must try and I will must try to return to experience a different dish next time! read more

We went to this restaurant with a large group (18+ people), and they accommodated us wonderfully. The staff are phenomenal, so kind, and did not act annoyed with us at all. The service was very quick, and checks were distributed easily and correctly. All of these are huge things for going with a big group! The drinks were good, and the food was okay. The reason for the low rating is 2 fold- 1. The location is not ideal. There is a sketchy hotel right behind the restaurant with people loitering outside. 2. Many in our group felt extremely unwell around 3AM after eating.. Because it was so many of us we believe that it was the food. I really hate to give a bad review but I was sick for about a day after eating here. As redemption, we did have fun, the karaoke was out and super entertaining. So we made an order like 8 things, half our order was missing. I called back and told them they must've missed giving my family a bag he kept saying he couldn't find the order. He asked where did I order from n I told him several time it was directly from their website. It seems like at 1st he wasn't believing me which was irritating but I don't have to steal food. My husband went back to get the order again came back only to find that they still missed giving us part of the order my husband had to go back. ***3.25 Stars*** I finally had a chance to try Veracruz on my most recent trip to Augusta. I have seen 3 or more locations spread across the city so I thought I would check them out. I had chance to stop in for lunch. Very nice and friendly staff. They greet you at the door. This location has a large covered patio and can accommodate decent size groups. I tried their happy hour Margherita. Let me just say, don't get it. If you like lemonade Gatorade with a shot of Tequila, go for it. I am told the top shelf Margherita is better. I was turned off by the taste of the happy hour drink, I did not want to risk it. Food came out pretty quick. I ordered beef enchilada and tamale combo with beef taco on the side. The beef for all 3 items tasted the same, like they were seasoned with only salt and pepper. No spices or mexican herbs. The meat was flavorless for the most part and there was not enough flavor in the other components of the dish to overcome the near bland beef. They probably have other dishes that they execute well on. Should I decide to try them again in the future, I will explore other options. read more

Food was ok. Was POOR! I was ignored the entire time! There was noone seated in the restaurant when I was seated. The waitress came with 10 minutes. Took the order, left and only came back for the check!!! Not one cordial nicety, but another table came in and she was smiling, laughing, checking on them, but not one word to me after I sit down! I am not accustomed to this kind of treatment at places where I spend my money. Needless to say I won't be back and will put the word out! The Ambiance is loud, but nothing out of the sorts. This is my favorite Mexican in Augusta. I'm super picky as I'm from Los Angeles and have had some of the best Mexican ever. The service is always on point!! Friendy and very attentive. Latin music and everyone is Latin so it's clearly the real deal. All I ask for or want is Albondigas to be added to the soup menu. read more

I ordered through weather app and the delivery was really fast. So, it was hard to believe that the food I got was cold, soggy and inedible. The hard taco fell apart when I picked it up and the beef enchilada was a taco with a slab of enchilada sauce. No flavor no texture no nothing. But the absolute winner was The Chile Relleno I ordered... Itcame without the chili pepper. The cheese was so cold and hard that I had to pry through it. The food was horrible. The waitress couldn't understand English and instead of getting assistance she entered the orders incorrectly. When the manager came over to the table he was terribly rude. He proceeded to snatch the plates from everyone else at the table and said "go eat somewhere else." He didn't ask what was wrong and automatically assumed everyone didn't want to pay for their food. We had to request our tickets and we persisted to pay because we didn't want to be accused of trying to eat for free. Even the person working to seat customers was absolutely very rude. Venue & Vibe: Pretty standard, except for the nice, covered outdoor deck. It's large and seems popular among most of the diners. It is lit up at night and has a few TVs for sports. The servers were attentive and fast at first, but gradually slowed down to the point that I was wondering if we were ever going to get our check. I think this was probably because of a few large groups that trickled in, however. Vittles: Not bad but not great. Chips were warm and crispy, but the salsa lacked texture and was a little bland. It was definitely not spicy. We ordered a chimichanga and the burritos tipicos. The chimi was good and came with a nice little veggie only taco salad. That beats the standard beans and rice serving you usually get. The burritos were warm, but I was hoping for more cheese. It wasn't bad, however, although the shredded iceberg lettuce and guac served atop was a little too much. The beans and rice were okay and tasted like they normally do at other Mexican restaurants. We also had the peach margarita. It was a little too sweet for me (I also couldn't taste any alcohol) but the peach flavor was nice. It's made from a local companies peach alcohol. It did go well with the burrito. Verdict: Would I go back? Yes, but moreso for the ambiance if sitting on the deck and eating chips and drinking. I think I'd go for the chimi next time instead of the burritos -- and ask for some hot sauce for that salsa. read more

The outdoor patio area is actually really nice and cool considering it's a billion degrees outside in Georgia and that's pretty much the only positive. We ordered chicken quesadilla suprema mine with the guacamole salad and my friends with rice. The quesadilla is a literal sandwich. By that I mean it's shredded chicken with nacho cheese sauce in between two tortillas. It doesn't taste like a quesadilla either it's more like a plain soft taco. The rice was old and I do mean old, you can visibly see it in the picture. We informed the waitress and she just walked away so ..yea ...not really sure what kind of a remedy that was. She was non attentive and didn't even give us a chance to order a beer/drink whatever she put the food down and left came back 20mins later with a water cup we told her about the food she left and the manager was the one that came to ask us if we were waiting for our check. It's unfortunate how much this sucked because I really loved their patio and would've came back all summer for sure. read more

The lies. This was absolutely the worst. Beef tacos were more like canned dog food with a hint of......... nothing at all.... noooo flavor.... tasteless.... grilled shrimp was a mess. Shrimp weren't fresh at all. N clearly wasn't on the grill long enough. They were light pink with absolutely no grill marks... the frozen margarita was on point but the food was a disaster . The food is alright but the service is terrible. And it wasn't even busy! They are so slow and check on you only once right after food come out then they disappear. We waited 30 minutes for the waitress to come by again so that we could ask for a box and the check. But she NEVER CAME BACK! She went to every table except ours. We eventually gave on the box and had to walk up the the counter to get our check. We shouldn't have to do that! And this isn't the first time the service has been slow. It's been every time we go. I stay in Augusta several nights per year. Maybe ten nights. I eat hear every night. Great food, love the outside area, staff is professional and friendly. If I would hold anything against them, on some nights they have karaoke, yuk I'm not a fan of karaoke. Tonight I had Fajitas over the boarder it was awesome. This is about a 3 hr drive (w/o traffic) from home. So, every time we are in town, this is the place we go. Severely overcooked... I had "shrimp, chicken & steak" fajitas that were unidentifiable, overcooked & bland. I asked for my drink 10 minutes after the food came. When asked by my waiter if everything was "alright", I forked through total mush to show her. 5 minutes later she again asked if everything was okay? Her eyes said SHE knew it was bad too, I had lost my appetite and wasn't eating anything. My drink came watered down, obviously it sat at the bar waiting too long for pickup. I drank most of it, since I ran a 5k in 100 degree heat an hour before and was dying. I'm traveling for work and requested the check split, billed $48.27 which is where I drew the line. The margarita was a house watered down "medium" for $22.63? The fajitas were cleared off the table in the same state they were delivered. Drink amount was changed when I made the request. Pictures say everything, no quality control by the manager or chef! Waiter was nice, she just seemed embarrassed and didn't know what to do in the situation. read more
