Some of the place seems undermaintained especially near the entrance and restrooms. Some of the signs were sloppily assembled. Also there was disgusting food trash under the table and an uncleared table that sat there for an hour. But service was fast and friendly and the food was great. read more

Upon arrival, the restaurant was freezing cold! My friend had to get an extra sweater from her car just so I could be comfortable. Then our server, whom I'm not sure ever told us her name came about 6 minutes later very anxious. I asked her the difference in the margaritas, since the ingredients weren't listed on the menu, she quickly said "oh I'm not sure I'm still in training". I told her "okay.. can you go ask the bartender??" She then sends the bartender over to explain but the waitress disappears; as a former bartender/server this was a red flag. If you're in training, you should be trying to learn as much as you can! The bartender ended up taking our drink orders and neglected the water we requested. I then had a question about some of the tacos on the menu, which the server again said "ohhh I don't know I'm still training!" I then told her again.... You should go ask. The restaurant has failed that young lady which in turn provided us with poor service and food orders that were not accurately fulfilled. I will not be back. read more

Pretty good salsa here. Strong margaritas. I've gotten a few things here, but most recently it was the carne asada tacos. I'd get them again. Came with a side of rice and beans. My server let me practice some Spanish, which I found nice, and she also liked that I spoke Spanish too! She spoke great English as well, and we talked about her time here in Augusta and DR. Things they do well: they are attentive and bring you chips and salsa when you arrive. Their menu is varied, and there are plenty of options for lunch and dinner. They are accomodating to large groups and there's a good amount of seating. It also seems like the specials are reasonable pricing, and there's good deals on alcohol per the group I went with. Things to improve: There was cross contamination between dishes (I had a piece of beef and chicken in my vegetarian fajitas), and the flavors are ok generally either overly salted or bland. There are inconsistencies with food quality for the few dishes I tried. Food could be fresher and have a better texture. Outside of the lunch menu, other items are fairly expensive for the portions. Overall service and ambiance are good and they are accomodating to large groups. I might need to go when it's less busy so they have a better chance at making my food well. read more

This place is super good. I got the fajitas and it was a huge serving, and the flavor was devine. It's hard going to places where you can actually taste something other than just bland meat. I'm a repeat offender eating at this Los Cabo's Mexican Restaurant. I drive about 30 miles, or so, to eat here. The food is real Mexican. Service is always quick. They also have adult beverages.(and margarita towers) They also have a large group area and you can bring a piñata. (Be polite and ask before showing up with a piñata, I believe they seat people near that area.) read more

I came to Augusta from Cali and az. where authentic Mexican fd was easy to find, here i couldn't find authenticy of Mexican food anywhere. I got tired of wasting my money and getting upset about the quality I kept receiving so I stopped looking...them a few months later on my home from meeting with the Church, I stopped to get gas and I just asked someone by the pumps if they knew of an authentic mexican restaurant, they were like yeah go back that way around the corner and you'll see Los Cobos, i said i mean real good authentic tasting food, they said I wouldn't be disappointed. that 2 years ago and I won't and don't go anywhere else for Mexican food. I just went to this place for takeout. I spent between five and ten minutes explaining what I wanted. It doesn't take a genius to get an order for two burritos and a cup of beef and bean dip. I know that it's not a complicated thing to understand what I wanted in the burritos. I was told that the total was over $25.00! I showed the menu to them, and two burritos were $9.95. I was charged 8.95 for one. When I asked for my credit card back, the bill was redone, and it came to just over nineteen dollars. I know that I would be charged more for the one or two additional ingredients. I got the order, and when I got home, I realized that the ingredients were not in the burritos and in containers. I called them and asked if I was supposed to build a burritos. I actually had to open up the burritos and add the ingredients myself. I will NEVER go back to that place again. I have gone there several times and didn't have any problems. Sorry for the long post, I just can't stand incompetence. read more

You would never think that by where this place is located it would be worth going to. It is in a kind of bad part of the city. The staff is friendly, the food is fresh & the portions are huge. I ordered the enchiladas supreme which includes a chicken, beef, bean & cheese enchilada. So you get 4 enchiladas & cheese, lettuce & some veggies. Delicious! My husband had the fajita burrito which was gigantic & came with a ton of vegetables. Your complimentary chips comes with 2 types of salsa. One is hot which was my favorite. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant. I come here about once a week. The spicy salsa is the best salsa you can get at a Mexican restaurant in Augusta, in my opinion. And the prices are great, especially at lunch. You can order off the lunch menu outside of lunch hours for an extra charge. I usually get the lunch chimichanga with chicken and substitute rice for refried beans -- you can also substitute whole pinto beans if you're like me and don't like refried beans. We recently discovered this place and have visited regularly, especially for lunch. They are typically attentive and food comes out quickly. Everything we have tried so far has been good. Our favorite thing that sets this Mexican place apart from the others locally is the two different bowls of salsas brought out with chips. One is a larger bowl of regular salsa, and a spicier smaller bowl that is on point! The hotter bowl has a lovely taste of tomatillos! Quite delicious and they refill as much as you'd like. Quality of food and customer service has gone down, imo. We went today during the lunch rush hour. We were seated quickly but the service started going downhill from there. We got our drink order & chips and salsa. Our food came out pretty quickly but was not up to par. I ordered the Luis Special( shrimp quesadilla, beef taco, and rice, I substituted beans instead) We never received a refill on our drinks. The waitress forgot my taco that came with my combo. My mom ordered rice & a side of avocados. You can tell that her avocados were not fresh. Waitress also acted like she was in a rush during our time there. All in all, we were very unhappy with our meal today. Sad to say, we will not be a patron of this establishment any longer. To us, it's not worth the hassle. read more

I went here with a group of about 15 people for a birthday dinner a couple weeks ago. The staff was friendly and took our order quickly and the food also came out pretty quickly as well. I got the enchiladas (1 beef, 1 chicken, 1 cheese) but I wouldn't say the food is anything special; it really is just typical, subpar Mexican food. The flavors were not really there and the meats were very dry inside the enchiladas. I did not finish it. I'm also not sure if the margarita pitchers are worth it...most people at the table thought there was very little alcohol in it. After paying and returning home that night I realized the waiter had charged me TWICE for my meal which instead of it being $22 it was $44. I tried calling that night...no answer. I called the next day when they opened...no answer. My dad and I decided to stop by around 2 pm to sort it out but when we got there the staff working said they could not help us right now because the manager was not in and he keeps all the receipts locked up. They told us he would be back at 5 pm if we wanted to come back then. This is really poor customer service and management considering most restaurants have a manager or someone at all times who is able to do everything in case a problem arises. We went back at 5 pm and were able to get the money back. After getting the run around for a full day, I will not be back and cannot recommend this restaurant. read more

Los cabos is I think on Baker Street. I was working a day shift and a co-worker suggested we should order from there as usual I had never heard of it, but seeing the excitement on the faces of other co workers I decided to order too. I ordered Chicken Quesadillas, and Shredded steak tacos. Ordered it over the phone and a coworker picked up the food. With all food, Tex-Mex food, one has to eat it hot, it was a bit cold by the time I got to it. I work as a Nurse, but I was hungry and so it got eaten up real quick. Sorry no pics to share. I gave it 4 stars, because Los Cabos served my food in disposable aluminum dishes and one cannot put those in microwave to warm it. Otherwise the food was fresh, I did not get the runs. I had a hankerin for some real Mexican food, having been spoiled in Dallas I wondered if I could find something. Lucky me, I found this place open on New Years Day! I head on over and notice the place isn't exactly in great shape inside. I am sure this place has seen better days and didn't look good on the cleanliness scale...... but hey, whatever. I ran off to the bathroom and the guy had my salsa w/chips already at the table when I return but no utensils or napkins... I order a bloody mary... wouldn't suggest that here. The menu... the oddest thing is how new, shiny, and professional the menu is! Stark contract to the interior... I expected a scribble page with salsa on it. So, I pick out the pork tacos, but swap the beef topping (see pic). I go for traditional corn tortillas. I was also excited to see a spicier salsa come with it! We are regulars. We live so close, and it took a while to visit, because it doesn't appear to be an awesome restaurant from the outside....but we have been hooked since. They bring 2 salsas, one that is spicy and one mild. Their cheese dip is great...guacamole casera is awesome! I always get the fajita nachos because they are just sooo delicious! they have zucchini, peppers, onions & chicken. Their chimichangas are also delicious...and most of all, they changed my life with the street tacos (that's not the name on the menu but I can't remember what they call them). I had a chicken quesadilla, much like my favorite from Mi Rancho. It wasn't quite as good. A little on the greasy side. But not overloaded with cheese, and a decent amount of chicken. My dining companion had a combo, with a beef burrito and I believe a soft chicken taco. The plate also came with refried beans and rice. The rice had good flavor but was dry. The rest of the meal was pretty standard Mexican fare. The staff was friendly. I waffle between 2 and 3 stars here. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't great. read more

Was looking in the area for decent Mexican restaurant and had not found any until today. The food is fantastic, generous portions on all the meals we had. I love this place it is open space. In my opinion you get more for what you pay for. Im from the west so this food makes me feel right at home. I love the rice it is fluffy and they give you a lot. The guacamole is yummy. I typically order the Chimichanga or steak and shrimp fajitas and they alway come out sizzling. The food is really flavored and not often do you need to add spices.
