This review is for DAVID. (I would like to note that I have yelped only one other time in my life and don't have much free time, so it takes a lot for me to spend the time to write a review.)
CONCLUSION: In short, David is INCREDIBLE... and that is an UNDERSTATEMENT. He made it an amazing experience that I will always remember. Not only was he knowledgeable about the dress styles, material, and workmanship, he was personable (not stuffy as you may expect from a designer boutique), outgoing, accommodating, patient, and a whole lot of fun. I never felt rushed to hurry through dresses or pressured to buy something since I had taken up so much of his time. I loved him, my bridesmaids loved him, and my 62 year-old dad loved him. This is the experience that every soon-to-be-bride deserves. And had I not been lucky enough to have an appointment with David, I would have missed out. If you go to Vera, ask for David. Trust me, you will not regret it.
EXPLANATION: By the time I showed up to Vera two weeks ago, I had already been to 8 other stores. Time to go through the motions again, right? WRONG. Enter David. He sat with us (I was accompanied by two girlfriends), asked about my dress-shopping experience, my likes, dislikes, and everything else he needed to help me find the perfect dress. By this time, we had already laughed so much that my face hurt. Then off he went to find "the one." Every dress he selected for me was fabulous because 1) Vera dresses are Vera dresses and 2) David knew exactly what dresses to have me try on to not only stay within my budget, but to also flatter my body type. I was soooo needy, too. Can I try this veil? How about that one? Can I try this dress on again? David hung in there like a champ, smiling the whole time. Ultimately, I was in love... with the FIRST DRESS David selected for me.
I have commitment issues (only with expensive things), so I needed to make sure that this was it. David actually encouraged me to think on it, instead of pushing for the sale. And this was after we had kept him well past closing time (oops!). When I left the store, my girlfriends and I couldn't stop ranting and raving about how fabulous David was and what a great experience we all had. (Yes, we eventually talked about the dress, but that came second, after they both vowed to see David when they get married.)
Last week, I went back to visit the dress with my dad to confirm that it was "the one." David again assisted me and greeted me with a hug. (We were BFFs by this time.) Again, it was a wonderful experience. I tried on the dress and confirmed that I was in love, but didn't want to buy it until I locked down the venue. David completely understood. No pressure to make the purchase.
Today I went back to make the dress mine. I am now the proud owner of a Vera Wang wedding dress. David was working with another soon-to-be-bride, but he made a point to come over to say hi, chat it up for a bit, congratulate me on my dress, and tell me to contact him if I needed anything or had any questions (including recommendations on wedding vendors!!!) I left on cloud 9. Not only did I pick an AMAZING dress, I had so much fun getting there because of David. He is truly something special! I'm sad that the process is over, but hope I get to see him when I come in for my fittings! read more
