The issue is not with the actual work, but rather the business model and lack of communication. We have since moved on to another gardening service. Luis wants guaranteed business by charging a monthly fee to show up 2x/month year round. However, for simple lawn/hedge trimming and leaf clean-up, the amount he charges does not make sense. We struck a deal with him for ad hoc service, because nothing grows in the dry months of summer. However, we had a "no-call, no-show" during the rainy season when he had told us multiple weeks in a row that he would come by. When he finally showed up weeks later, he decided to charge us TWICE for overgrowth. Had he shown up the first time he said he would, that would not have happened. It seems he decided our business was no longer worth his time, so he decided to extract the most cash he could from us before we moved on. Needless to say, I cannot recommend Lona's to anyone after this experience.

My yard got no sunshine for most of the day. Time to look for an arborist. I discovered Discount Tree Care Arborist Inc. - just by accident. I called for a quote but honestly didn't anticipate a response within minutes! And the estimator came over right away! Be prepared for spending a chunk of change for sure. But remember," the cheap comes out expensive!" I quickly educated myself about arborists and what to expect. The quote was reasonable. The crew arrived the next morning! Supervisor stated on job site the entire time. The crew were professional, worked perfectly together, and even managed to sing while pruning. Their cleanup was exceptional. The tree pruner swiftly climbed my monster pine and began his skilled thinning of the canopy and then the structural pruning. The crew were polite, well mannered, industrious, and skilled.
