We called yesterday knowing it would be hard to get an appointment because of graduation this week. They told us it would be about a 30 minute wait which ended up being more like 45 minutes. Kim took me back and oh my goodness did such a great job! She was friendly, talked to me about my nails what I wanted and asked about the trip I was talking about. An appointment means nothing so don't bother making one! We waited 40 minutes and were finally approached and they still had no idea what we wanted (2 pedicures). I have been coming to this place for some time never had any issues but lately the eyebrow lady has been very slow and moody all the time to the point where she is arguing out loud with her coworkers making it uncomfortable for those of us getting our nails done not very relaxing I must say. The wait time seems to be around 30-40minutes for eyebrows which is unreal. It was never this long usually she would get people in and out no problem. She definitely needs help for eyebrows and she is actually really good at doing eyebrows which is why I struggled to rate the place but it is all about the wait time. Today she was doing other things such as taking payments, talking to her manager and this and that delaying those of us who wanted to get our eyebrows done for which we were all frustrated already of how long we've been having to wait for her. read more

Went in on 8/7/22 around 5pm and the lady at the front desk was horrible. I first asked if I could take a pic of the prices so I could share with 6 other ppl that I would be bring to get group pedis. She rudely said no and then went on to answer some of my other questions in a tone that definitely wasn't inviting considering I'm a customer. As soon as another person walked in she forgot she was helping me and started helping them. Standing there waiting for her to get back to me even though I was first is not my idea of good customer service. And lastly her not being able to understand what I'm asking is also not great. This place should really get a new front desk person because they are probably loosing out on customers due to her poor service and rude attitude. I went to get a simple lip wax. When I first walked in I wasn't greeted at all they just stared at me. After about 5 mins someone asked me what I needed done I said just a lip wax and she said okay and walked away. She never followed up, after about 15-20 mins I walked up to the lady at the front desk and said "hi, no one has helped me yet. I'm just doing a lip wax" and she rudely told me to go into the waxing room. Which was disgusting they did not those little sanitary white strip things on the table just a towel over the pillow and a sheet covered in plastic. When she started waxing me she was very aggressive and acted rude towards me the whole time. When I was done she said $5 nothing else so I paid her and gave no tip. If I could give negative stars I would. This is honestly the worst full set I've ever seen before. My mother came home from Venus nails telling me that she didn't like her full set. My mom not knowing English very well wasn't able to communicate with the nail tech because she wasn't able to understand her. There's gel polish all over her cuticles and the nails don't fully cover her whole nail. The lady cut her while attempting to shape her nails which she didn't even do right. I am a frequent costumer and I get my nails done often. Normally, I just get one color acrylic nails and I wanted to do something different this time. I said yes to a marble nail and I was disappointed. It looks nothing like marble even after showing her the picture. I won't be getting anything other than one color. Not all manicurist know how to do them, I thought she did because my sister has gotten them done but it was with a different person. I even showed her the picture. I am only giving 3 stars because I went there recently to get french tip acrylic nails for a wedding that was 2 days later. By the next morning, the nails were already starting to lift! I had no time to go back and ask them to fix it and besides, by the morning of the wedding every single nail was lifting. All this happened within 3 days. I was so disgusted. I also had my cuticles cut multiple times when the guy was doing my nails and he was very rough and didn't seem to care much about what he was doing. I have never had a problem getting my toenails done, but I will definitely NOT be coming back here for my finger nails. read more

I have never been so happy before this visit to Venus. I'm from San Jose and my husband is out visiting friends here so I decided to get my nails done. I went to a few other places, but they were busy. I walked in to Venus and they were able to help right away. I got my nails done by Vincent and he was super careful and made my horrible set I had done previously from San Jose, beautiful again. I'm very very very happy with my nails today! Nancy did my pedicure. I had shellac previously and she was gentle with removing this. I then got the pedicure and she took her time. I almost fell asleep :) it was amazing! Vicki did my eyebrows. They are on point. Every client leaving from her chair has had amazing looking eyebrows! Hopefully in two weeks my husband comes to Atwater again, because I will stay away from most San Jose places now!! This place deserves ten stars! read more

Horrible! My mother is a cancer patient and she is also white. She lives in another state so she had not set foot inside this store yet but I was an avid customer. She walked into the store and one of the ladies started yelling and cussing at her. Another lady threw nail polish at her. They mistook my mother for another white lady they had problems with. Because her bones are so brittle from chemo and radiation the nail polish bottle hit my mother in her jaw and broke it. We have since settled a lawsuit with them. I have been going to this place for years and have put up with there negative and rough manner. I recently went in about 2 weeks ago and got a fill which only lasted a couple of days before lifting. Two nails popped off within a week and a half so I went in to get them fixed just to be told I would have to pay to get them fixed and replace. I was extremely upset at the rudeness and left without any hesitation. I will no longer go back to this is stablished I would rather pay $10 extra to go to roses nails. Totally decent! I came with my friend, I got a pedicure (20) and she got a French mani/pedi(30 + 4 for French). We waited for a while, but at least were sitting in the massage chairs. Also, their hand dryers look super gross and dirty. Overall though, the experience was pretty neutral, nothing spectacular, but nothing terrible. I would go again. read more

First off FLOWER is AMAZING! She follows the shape of your natural brow shape. She's fast and really nice. I've had nothing but great experiences with her. Pedicures are great! I had my nails done on Sunday and returned again on Tuesday to get a pedi with matching polish to my new mani. We picked the correct matching color and I sat down for my pedi. Unfortunately I didn't notice that the nail tech had applied the wrong color until the pedi was complete. The establishment refused to make it right even though the salon was empty. I think that customer service is important and if you can't stand behind your work as a business, then potential customers should be forewarned. It was more important to Venus Nails to get $25 and leave a customer unhappy than it was to make a customer happy leaving their nail spa. Very rude staff. Eyebrow waxing is good but the bad customer service is not worth it!

I would give 1 star if it weren't for the professionalism of the manicurist who initially did my nails. However as professional she was, my full set of acrylic tips completely lifted in less than a week and turned a yellowish hue. I went back and spoke with someone, explaining what happened and I clearly asked if I could have it fixed at NO cost and the person (who I later found out was the owner) said yes, come back tomorrow. I came back the next morning and there was a youngish gentleman at the counter and again, I explained the situation and he said yes to come back at a specific time. Later that day, after the new nails were ALREADY glued to my nails, the owner came by and (not exaggerating) shouted at me, "you pay!" She continued to yell that I could not come into her salon and get free product from her and not pay for it. I explained that I had spoke to her yesterday about the manicure lifting and she said it would be repaired and she again shouted that I could take advantage of their products for free and then she stormed off. The woman doing my nails apologized. I paid her as I did not want to make a bigger scene and as I was leaving I heard the owner shout again, "did she pay?" This was a terrible and embarrassing experience. First of all, my nails looked awful after 4 days, the owner screamed at me in front of a room full of people as if I was a crook ( I am a teacher, mom, good community member...etc) and I basically paid twice for the same treatment.
