It was very quick and easy to get an appointment. There was nobody in the entire place. It was full of awkward silence. There was absolutely no background noise here at all. It felt pretty clean but by far it was the most expensive and the worst acrylic fill I have ever gotten. I keep my nails totally basic. I don't even usually get color on them just nude acrylic powder and clearcoat. This is what I asked for, but somehow it ended up with polish. My nails are not shaped well and there are rough uneven edges. Lots of Dips & bumps and just don't look right. To be honest I am kind of embarrassed of them. They def don't look like I just got them freshly filled. I did have a broken nail, which would add to the cost, but I still think that a little over $70 was quite steep. The lady was nice and friendly, but I will not be returning. I don't mind paying the price if the finished result looks nice. I am very disappointed to say the least. I am uc Merced student and they give 10% off to Merced students they said because I didn't have the physical ID they couldn't give it to me. The place and is nice, big and very clean. My issue is with the person who did my nails. She wasn't well experienced with nails. She could only do one shape. The nail polish she used on my nails was not gel polish and it scraped right off the next day on my one of my nails. My nails also had a bit of small tiny tiny air bubbles. I came in with a full set of acrylic nails and she did successfully remove them. I did not like the process she used though because she left the foil and acetone on for 30 minutes which is something I've never done in other nail salons. Until my last visit, I generally enjoyed Ruby Nail Spa. In the past two years I have had a few pedicures and manicures done by different techs. The first pedicure I had was nice, but the nail tech (an older gentleman, I did not get his name) took three hours! I was not in a rush, so I wasn't too bothered by it. On another visit, I got a manicure with Annie. The color and general service were nice enough, but she took it upon herself to file my natural nails very thin. I did not like the overall look and was extremely disappointed at how thin and rubbery my natural nails became. On my last visit I made a special appointment, with my mom, to prepare for my wedding that weekend. I ordered a pedicure and basic manicure for my mom and I was to get a pedicure. Annie was assigned my pedicure and we were all excited to get started. I informed Annie that I had ingrowns and if she could get them, I would be grateful. She started on the right foot and was very rough working on the ingrown. She made another toe bleed during the cuticle removal process. After she finished clipping and filing the nails I complained about the shape of the nail on my big toe. I asked her to shape it the way I wanted, rounded, not a sharp angle--it's $70, so I want to make sure I'm happy with the outcome! The man working on my mom chimes in and says, "Your toe nail is crooked. She's filing them to the shape of your toe. Your toe nail is crooked because of the shoes you wear!" Like excuse me! What do you know about what type of shoes I wear and literally my toe nail was looking like a triangle! Annie then gets nervous and irritated as she moves to my left foot. She does not even attempt to work on my ingrown and when I say something about it, the man again chimes in saying, "we're not licensed podiatrists, so we can't do that!" I reminded him that she already worked on the right foot, and now she wants to skip doing the left foot! I'm now getting angry with the service and he says "the service is over". Rather than try to rectify the situation, they just stopped working on my pedicure and told me to leave-- midway through the work! My poor 76 year old mom was stuck having to finish her mani/pedi with them while I had to walk to another salon, Beauty Nails, which thankfully fixed all of Ruby Nails's mistakes. What was supposed to be a relaxing and joyous experience with my mom ended up becoming a disaster. Thankful to Beauty Nails for giving me exactly what I wanted and helping me to relax after such an awful experience. read more

I came early, and I waited 20 minutes before I realized that my appointment was actually not kept and I would probably have to wait another 40 minutes to be seen. I went on May 20th to get a pedicure. I told Helen it was my daughter's birthday, so once she was out of her school I was going to take her to get her first pedi. Helen said that same day it was Yen's birthday. When I went back with my daughter, we took Yen a muffin and a candle. Every single employee made such an unforgettable day for my 9 year-old daughter. This was my first time at a nail Salon in so long because I started doing my own nails but then I didn't have any of my equipment with me so I decided to try this place out. They were very friendly and welcoming once my friend and I walked in. I decided to get a pedicure and manicure with my friend. We were both helped right away. The pedicure was really great, the man who did my pedicure did a great job and painted my toes nicely. For the manicure, the man was really friendly and told me he was able to do the design I requested. However, after he completed the nails I could tell that he tried his best but it still wasn't to my liking. I didn't want to ask him to fix it because the shop was already getting busy, but that was my fault for not ading him to perfect my nails. The nails were also a little bit thinner than I wanted and I also ended up fixing the shape (almonOverall, the nails are still cute but I decided to fix the design on my own as best as I could. It's been about 1 week now and some of the nails are lifting. Usually nails last me a month and a half so I'm hoping these nails will last. As for the price I paid $90 for both a manicure and pedicure. They're affordable but I recommend making sure u like ur nails before leaving. These people are such nice people! There was a lady who was here at the same time my friend and I were getting our toes done. She came in asking to get one nail fixed which she did. Afterwards her total was $8 and she ended up only paying $2! I thought that was very disrespectful because she refused to pay the worker who did her nails. At first she paid $1 and then gave her son a $1 to go back into the salon and give it to the worker. This is very sad because these workers are working hard and as someone who does my own nails, I understand the pain the worker had to go through. I went in with my daughter and they sat her and her friend at chairs side by side and me across from them. They started my daughter's pedicure first. About 20 minutes later they started her friend's. An hour later I still had not even been told when they would help me. They had only turned the water on to fill my tub. There were a couple of other employees walking around checking spas.
