I had met Lourdes & Irma at a trade show last year and kept their card. I called & made an appointment with Irma. I sent her a picture of what I wanted and the color spectrum (shades of pink to burgundy with gold highlights intertwined). IT IS AMAZING! It's 5 days later - and I still cannot stop looking at my hair. Not only did she do the ombre, she blended it so there is a 'natural' transition between the colors. The ombre look (see photos) can be used with most any color combo. I chose pink to burgundy but I think for fall and winter I might do orange to brown. Irma was extremely professional and patient with me. She kept me involved thought each step of the process & Kept me laughing the whole time. Once I returned to Vegas, I've had at least 8 people ask me where I got it done & when I told them, they all said it would be worth the drive. I'm going back for a touch up in September and will be scheduling a mani/pedi with Lourdes while I'm there. I cannot say enough about how much I love my hair. Another thing I love about this shop is that it is locally owned. Shop Local keeps money in the community. They are flexible with their hours and try to accommodate their client's schedules when possible. (in early or stay later) Thank you, Irma! You Rock!! Oh yes and their shop is fat chick friendly! I arrived 12 mins later to find that Ivy is not there but is on her way. I had no problem waiting for her to arrive. He stated he needed to get started and insisted I let him. I told him I would prefer to wait. After his persistence I gave in. I asked him to please becareful because the one and only time he did my nails he shave 3 of my cuticles by mistake. He took that very offensive and called me a liar. He threw my hand and I told my daughter we were leaving, he followed me and my 9 yr old daughter out yelling and cussing me out all the way to our car. The fact that as a man and business owner he felt comfortable yelling and cussing at me and my 9 yr old all the way to our car is beyond disturbing.

I really appreciated that she checked in several times throughout the haircutting process to make sure that it was coming along exactly how I wanted it. She even added a few extra touches, like putting in a little extra shine serum(which smelled like fresh strawberries and champagne-LOVE!). The price of my cut was very reasonable and nobody tried to push me into purchasing extra products or services, which I've experienced at other salons (and which pretty much ensures I don't go back). I left the salon with that great, bubbly, new-hair confidence we all hope to get after a service. The only area of improvement I'd mention: During my service I noticed a few other stylists swearing during their conversations. While I personally don't mind, there are more religious or traditional folks in Merced and you may run the risk of offending them with language like this. Just something to consider!
